Abstract

This research aims at examining the influence of some variables i.e. current performance, after initiation performance, maturity, capital structure, and ownership structure, on sustainability of dividend initiation policy, and also the influence of sustainability of dividend initiation policy itself on its consequence variable i.e. stock performance. This research was conducted to sample firms consisting of 180 going public firms listed at Jakarta Stock Exchange and involving financial data which all belongs to kind of secondary data. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM) for data analysis and hypothesis testing, this research has found significant influence from after initiation performance, the only variable among four antecedent variables being examined, to sustainability of dividend initiation policy, and there is also found significant influence from sustainability of dividend initiation policy to its consequence variable i.e. stock performance. In a whole, findings of this research indicate that while signaling model of dividend is proven to be credible in explaining dividend initiation policy behavior among Indonesian going-public firms, agency cost model is not, particularly pertaining to monitoring rationale proposition (Easterbrook, 1984) and maturity proposition (Grullon, 2001). Finally, the existence of difference between finding of this research and those of ones conducted in advanced market context, basically provides supporting evidence on Frankfutter & Wood's argument stating that dividend policy is contextual in nature.

The research samples are 100 people with convenience sampling's method. To test hypotheses, this research uses path analysis. The research result shows that physical surrounding and temporal perspectives affect to the buying impulsiveness; and buying impulsiveness affect to the impulse buying decision, social surrounding, and antecedent states affect to hedonic consumption value, but hedonic consumption value doesn't affect to impulse buying decision. The research result shows that situational factor affect to impulse buying decision through buying impulsiveness.

Abstract

Research aims to find out: the factors that affect the production of rice and farm income of rice in the Regency Konawe, Population in this research is all rice farmers in the research location, determination of the sample in this research is using multistage random sampling method, which is 2 stage, (1) the determination of stages and the sub-district for sample (2), the determination of the sample farmers. The determination of sample districts purposively sampling methods, so that the 3 sub-districts selected as the location of research, namely: Wawotobi district, Lambuya district and Unaaha district. Population of rice farmers in three districts of the 1230 people. The determination of the sample farmers using simple random sampling method and was selected as 130 rice farmers in the research samples. Results of research indicate that: (a) factors of production area, fertilizer urea, SP36 fertilizer, manure and KCl significantly affect the production of rice. While the factors of production of seeds, pesticides and labor does not significantly affect the production of rice, and (b) the use of factors of production area, seed, fertilizer urea, fertilizer SP36, KCl fertilizer, pesticides and labor is relatively not economically efficient. Therefore need to have a new breakthrough for the efficient utilization of input on farmer rice research in the area.

Abstract

Market and entrepreneurship orientation is an organization capability that provides some contribution to the unique creation of resources and positional advantage. The optimum effect to performance is achieved when there is an adjustment between market orientation and entrepreneurship. Human resources with their level of capabilities, experience and high skills are able to overcome the uncertainty in the working environment. The objective of this study is to measure the effect of human resources development, market and entrepreneurship orientation to the competitive strategy and company performance at Regional Public Hospitals in East Java. The study was conducted at the 16 Regional Public Hospitals of type B and C in East Java Province with 179 respondents, consisting of the directors, the vice directors, the chiefs of division and sub-division. The sampling technique was multi stage sampling consisted of two stages, namely: determining the sample frame and unit analysis. While the variables were human resources development, market orientation, entrepreneurship orientation, competitive strategy and company performance. The data were analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)/ . The result of study implies that the low level of human resources development and entrepreneurship orientation make the role of human resources development and entrepreneurship orientation to the competitive strategy and also the role as a mediator of the effect of market orientation to the performance of regional public hospital less effective. Market orientation as an organization capability has become the concept and philosophy in the regional hospital management. The competitive strategy that focused on the market orientation can increase the performance of regional public hospital. This means that the implementation of competitive strategy would be effective if it is supported by the organization resources, such as market orientation that has become the hospital's policy and competence.
