Abstract

ABSTRAK Hasil dan kualitas bunga yang diproduksi petani memengaruhi harga jual bunga potong krisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh berbagai jenis mulsa organik dan konsentrasi Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), terhadap pertumbuhan, hasil, dan kualitas tanaman krisan. Penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapangan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) dengan metode faktorial (3 x 3) + 1. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis mulsa organik (jerami padi, batang pisang, dan rumput gajah) dan faktor kedua yaitu konsentrasi PGPR (25, 50, dan 75 mL/L). Kontrol menggunakan mulsa plastik hitam perak (MPHP), tanpa pemberian PGPR. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Sidik Ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT pada taraf 5%. Uji kontras ortogonal digunakan untuk membandingkan antara perlakuan dan kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan lebih efektif dari kontrol, pada parameter waktu kemunculan bunga, volume akar, jumlah bunga per tanaman, dan diameter bunga. Terdapat interaksi pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 56 HST, panjang petiol, dan jumlah bunga per tanaman. Perlakuan mulsa organik jerami padi memberikan hasil paling efektif pada parameter jumlah daun umur 28 HST dan jumlah tangkai bercabang. Konsentrasi PGPR 75 mL/L, memberikan hasil paling efektif pada parameter tinggi tanaman 42 HST, jumlah daun umur 28 HST, diameter batang, volume akar, dan jumlah tangkai bercabang. Kombinasi perlakuan yang menunjukkan hasil terbaik adalah mulsa organik jerami padi dengan konsentrasi PGPR 75 mL/L.

Abstract

Colletotrichum spp are important post-harvest pathogens that frequently cause anthracnose and significant quality deterioration in citrus. This study were aimed to identify morphological characteristics and genetic confirmation of Colletotrichum isolates associated with mandarin citrus , as well as to evaluate the cross-inoculation potential of these isolates among five post-harvest commodities. Anthracnose-infected citrus fruits were collected from a local market in Central Java, Indonesia. Fungal isolation was conducted using the single-spore technique, and identification was based on colony and conidial characteristics, followed by PCR amplification with the universal ITS1 and ITS4 primers. Cross-inoculation tests were performed on five post-harvest commodities. Morphological and genetic characteristics indicated that the isolates referred to Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, the causal agent of anthracnose in mandarin citrus. Colony characters were white-greyish colour with velvety texture, conidiomata, black spots, concentric rings, and fast-growing group. Conidia were cylindrical with rounded ends, measuring 12.02µm in length and 4.23µm in width on average. ITS amplification yielded a ±570 bp fragment that showed 98% similarity to C. gloeosporioides isolates from China, indicating a close relationship with the C. gloeosporioides species complex. Cross-inoculation tests showed that C. gloeosporioides can cause anthracnose symptoms in tomato, cayenne, pepper, citrus, and mango. The finding highlights that C. gloeosporioides was detected on mandarin fruits exhibiting anthracnose symptoms, and the potency of the cross-inoculation assay revealed the broad host range of this fungus.

Abstract

Buah naga termasuk tanaman hortikultura yang diminati oleh pengusaha industri makanan dan minuman karena memiliki manfaat bagi kesehatan. Penelitian  bertujuan untuk menentukan sumber bahan stek dan macam pupuk organik cair terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan buah naga merah. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Bhumee Organic, Dusun Jongkang, Kalurahan Sariharjo, Kapanewon Ngaglik, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta pada Agustus–Oktober 2024. Metode penelitian dilakukan percobaan lapangan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial disusun menggunakan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah sumber bahan stek terdiri atas stek pucuk, batang tengah, dan  batang bawah. Faktor kedua adalah macam pupuk organik cair terdiri atas kulit nanas dan kulit semangka, urine kelinci, urine sapi, dan batang pisang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara sumber bahan stek dan macam pupuk organik cair terhadap jumlah tunas 5 MST dan volume akar buah naga. Sumber bahan stek berasal stek pucuk dan batang tengah terbaik terhadap panjang tunas 9 MST. Stek batang tengah dan batang bawah juga menunjukkan terbaik terhadap bobot segar tanaman buah naga. Pupuk organik cair kulit nanas dan kulit semangka, urine kelinci, dan urine sapi terbaik terhadap persentase hidup stek buah naga.

Abstract

Corn productivity often declines due topest attacks, but can be controlled through the use of biological agents such asentomopathogenic nematodes (EPN). This study aims to explore andidentify EPN in corn fields in Gunungkidul Regency morphologically and morphometrically. Soil samples were taken in five districts, namely Wonosari, Playen, Patuk, Karangmojo, and Semanu. NEP trapping was carried out using Tenebrio molitor larvae, then isolatedusing the white head tray method and observed morphologically and morphometrically using a microscope. The results showed that the highest NEP population NEP population was found in Playen Subdistrict (462.67 NEP/5 ml) and the lowest in Patuk Subdistrict (7.33 NEP/5 ml). Population variation is thought to be influenced by differences in soil texture and cultivation systems. Based on the morphological and morphometric characteristics of the NEP found in Gunungkidul corn fields, they were identifiedas Heterorhabditis indica, with a body length ranging from 438.77–501.9 µm. These findings indicate the potential of H. indica as a biological agentin pest control in corn farming ecosystems in the Gunungkidul. Abstract

Cucumber is a horticultural commodity with a wide market share and high consumer demand. This study aimed to obtain preliminary information on the yield performance of several hybrid cucumber genotypes and to identify the genotypes with the best yield potential. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with a single factor, namely cucumber genotype, consisting of eight treatments: five hybrid genotypes (KE-6404, KE-6405, KE-6408, KE-6412, and KE-6414) and three commercial check varieties (Hercules Plus F1, Zatavy F1, and Mercy F1). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the evaluated genotypes and check varieties exhibited leaf shapes classified as angular or pointed. The basic fruit skin colors observed included 5 GY 3/4, 5 GY 4/6, 7.5 GY 3/4, and 7.5 GY 4/6, with fruit bases either blunt or pointed, and no bitterness detected at the fruit base. Fruit tip shapes varied among rounded, pointed, and blunt forms. Among the tested materials, genotype KE-6414 demonstrated higher yield potential compared to the other genotypes and produced fruit number per plant, fruit weight, fruit weight per plant, and yield per hectare comparable to the commercial varieties Hercules F1 and Mercy F1.
