The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

The Grand Forest Park of Ir. H. Djuanda is a popular ecotourism in Bandung, West Java. The management is conducted by the Management Center helped by the locals. However, it has been disharmonious relationship between the park management and the local community. This article analyses conflict between the management and the community. It discusses causes, implications and solutions to the conflicts. The data were taken from observation, interviews, and documentions which were analysed using qualitative approach. The study shows that the causes of conflict are policy differences, frequent change in management leadership, lack of dissemination of empowerment programs to the people, factors of lower people’s education, and narrow-minded of people’s. The implications are both negative and positive to the empowerment programs.

Abstract

Badung Regency, Bali Province, has eleven tourism villages which were established by Regulation of Badung Regent in 2010. The development level of the eleven tourism villages is different, therefore it needs to be evaluated so that the tourism village can be realized for the sake of balanced and sustainable development of tourism, especially in Central and North Badung. The purpose of this research was grouping the potential of each tourism village, grouping them based on the level of development, and formulating a plan of development strategies of each group of tourism villages in Badung Regency. This study used the theory of planning, sustainable tourism theory, the theory of community-based tourism and alternative tourism theory. The research method used quantitative and qualitative methods, then the analysis used a three rating scale method for classifying eleven tourism villages and SWOT analysis was used to formulate of tourism village development strategy plan in Badung regency.

Abstract

Sanur is one of the most attractive and renowned beach tourist destinations in Bali. However, there is no particular study so far to determine the influential attributes on Sanur, as well as the factors which affecting tourist’ opinion to visit this area. The purposes of this research are to determine the dominant attributes to determine visitors’ perception toward tourism attributes, to determine tourist loyalty on visiting Sanur area. This research was conducted by interviewing 100 domestic and foreign visitors who reside in the area at the time of research by accidental sampling method. Information regarding the trend of the visitors was gathered from ten respondents including business owners and local touristauthority by purposive sampling method. The research found that factors which dominantly influent tourist’ perception are ambience,beauty of scenery and accessibility. The ambience as the highest mean score, while the value of sport and outdoor activities is the lowest. The interest of both domestic and international tourist has been constantly high, where recommendation commitment is more preferable compared to other dimension (repurchasing and branding commitment).

Abstract

This article analyses the management system of tourist attractionin Taman Ayun Temple, part of the UNESCO world heritage site listed in 2012. It discusses management strategy, community participation in enhance the attractiveness of the attraction and visitors perception. Data were obtained during a periode of research in March 2015 through interview with stakeholder and observation. The research shows that there has been a significant improvement of facilities in Taman Ayun Temple after thedesignation of UNESCO, such as wantilan traditional Balinese building hall, toilet, and the arrangement of space in the front of the temple which used to be for artshops or petty traders. The community participation continue through ceremonial activities, preservation of ancient relics, and preservation of cultural arts.The perception of tourists who visit Taman Ayun Temple are very good especially toward the uniqueness of the temple’s architecture, general atmosphere, condition of the road in front of the temple, and wantilan hall.

Abstract

Kedonganan beach is a tourist destination located in KedongananVillage, South Kuta, Bali, known for its scenic beauty and theculinary activity. The beach was a fisherman village, until tourismdeveloped in the area during 1995. The tourism developmentwas not a carefully planned, resulted in many negative effectson the area and also to the community. A correction plan was developed based on Community Based Tourism (CBT) concept, and has been implemented since 2006. This article discusses the implementation process of community based tourism (CBT) in Kedonganan Beach. The enabling factors and the barrier of the implementation are also discussed, and the model of CBT implemented in the area are developed and discussed. The analysis result shows that implementation of CBT concept in the management of Kedonganan has been done in two steps. Thesesteps were devided into smaller steps, in which four CBT principleswere implemented. Local inisiative, support from Badung Regency Government and social capital were some of the factors that enables the implementation of CBT concept in Kedonganan Beach, while rejection from some of the community member and different perception of the community toward the lagal status of the land were the barriers of the implementation.

Abstract

Buleleng regency in North Bali has many areas that could potentially be developed into tourist destination areas, one of them being Lake Buyan Forest Area which is very potential to be a trekking tour as an alternative form of tourist attraction offering new experiences to tourists. The study was aimed at determining the potential of the forest area as a place for trekking activities, community participation and tourists in the development of the area, and to identify the effective strategies in its development. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, structured interviews with tourists who were conducting trekking activities and in-depth interview with the related people andthe tourists visiting Lake Buyan. The research method used wasdescriptive-qualitative and SWOT analyses. The study results showed that the physical and non-physical potential owned by forest area of Buyan Lake could be developed into a tourist trekking area, which was also supported by the SWOT analysis. In the process its development, the participation of the related people was an important factor.

Abstract

Batur Global Geopark is one of the new tourism attractions being developed by the government in Kintamani, Bali. This new attraction has not contributed significant impacts to the number of tourists visiting Kintamani. Lack of site managemenet and promotion are among the causes. This study analyzes the response of tourists towards the development of Batur Global Geopark based on attitudes, perceptions, and participation. Data collected by observation, in-depth interviews, surveys, and analyzed using Likert scale by giving score against to the response. The study shows that the development of Kintamani geopark is expected to be one of the tourism products which could providea new attraction for tourist to come to Kintamani. Accordingly, the government needs more in-depth introduction of Batur Global Geopark by creating special tour itinerary to attaind the purpose of conservation, education, and geotourism.

Abstract

The Kertalangu Cultural Village, located just north of Sanur beach, was established in 2007 and meant to be an alternative tourist attraction in Denpasar. Initially, this cultural village had developed as planned, but later on it faced a phase of decline. This article evaluates the  implementation of Kertalangu Cultural Village development program seen from the aspect of context, input, process and product. Data were collected by interviewing and distributing questionnaires. The total number of respondents was 97, determined using the Slovin formula, with the disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by Evaluation Theory, Theory of Sustainable Tourism Development and Tourism Regional Development Theory. The results show that the implementation of Kertalangu Cultural Village development programs is still not running optimally. The constraints that faced are the management is not optimal, the limited budget allocated to the development of tourism potential and the lack of good coordination between the manager and the manager at the Kesiman Kertalangu Village.

Abstract

Cycling tourism is a recreational activity in a vacation far from home or everyday life in which riding a bicycle constitutes the basic and significant part. Sanur, well-known by tourists as a holiday spot where bicycles are easy to find and commonly used as a transportation mode, has some potentials conducive to the development of cycling tourism. They have also been reinforced with the stakeholders’ planning and activities in the hope that this type tourism activity can keep growing for the local people and tourists to eventually bring about sustainable tourism. The planning covers public policies, physical development for cyclists, the establishment of cycling lanes, the making of maps, and promotions that involve all stakeholders. This research was carried out by identifying potential based on the tourism components of 4-A of Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities,and Ancillary, available at Sanur are related to the development of cycling tourism. The research concludes that cycling tour has been developed in Sanur and has the potential to support the sustainability of the destination.

Abstract

Slangit is a village in Cirebon, West Java that has potentials to be used as a cultural tourist attraction. These potentials include tradition and custom ceremonies, traditional art of masks and mask performances. This article investigates the the development strategy of cultural attractions in the village of Slangit. Data collection are conducted by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data was analysed using a descriptive qualitative method and by using SWOT analysis. The result shows that theattempt to use arts potential as tourist attraction has been fairly developed by artists group but it is far from adequate becausethe lack of coordination between artists group and the authorityresponsible to promote culture and tourism. It is suggested thatthe government to work together with communities and artists topromote the village potentials as cultural tourism attractions bothas away to preserve arts and to develop tourism as source of localeconomy.
