Abstract

Background: Women with first ongoing pregnancy (primigravide) came through physical and physicological adaptation which can lead into physicological problem. High-risk pregnancy like preeclamsia have some complication that  increased women worries which causing anxiety in their pregnancy. Mental burden in high-risk pregnancy causing some problem toward both mother’s and fetus’s health quality and also complication in labor. This study aimed to know difference of anxiety between primigravide normal pregnancy and severe preeclamsia. Methods: This study was an analitycal observasional study with cross sectional approach taken at Obstetri and Gynecologi Policlinic of  Dr. Moewardi Hospital, in Desember 2014 until January 2015. The sampling method was using purposive sampling. There were 40 respoden in total which devided into 20 responden of normal pregnancy and 20 responden of severe preeclamsia. Anxiety level was measured using HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) questionnaire. Data was analyzed using Chi square test to compare anxiety differences between the two group. Results: It was found 8 participant (40%) show no anxiety and 12 participant (60%) having mild anxiety in normal pregnancy. While in severe preeclamsia was found 5 participants (25%) having mild anxiety, 13 participants (65%) having moderate anxiety, and 2 participant (10%) having severe anxiety. The result of analysis by Fischer exact test showed p=0,002 (p<0,05). Conclusions: There was an anxiety difference between primigravide normal pregnancy and severe preeclamsia Keywords: anxiety, pregnancy, preeclamsia

Abstract

Background : Recently, computers have became primary needs of common people, especially among teenagers. It is proven in the results of a recent study that internet users in Indonesia from among children and adolescents are predicted reach to 30 million. Most computer users spend a lot of time for staring at computer, without give their eyes to rest. As a result, there was a repeated stress on the muscles of the eyes then fatigue. It will continue to decline in the function of the eye muscles that have consequence in visual impairment/decreasing in visual acuity. Methods : This study was analytic observational using cross sectional design that held in November 2014. The subjects of this study were 65 students of class X, XI, and XII SMKN 2 Surakarta who taken by purposive sampling technique through interviews. Analysis of the data used Spearman correlation test which treated with Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 20.0 for Windows . Results : In this study indicated that there was no significant relationship between the duration of use of computer vision to the decline in students of N 2 Surakarta , where the value of p = 0.800 ( > 0.05) (old and right visual acuity) and p = 0593 ( > 0.05) (old and left visual acuity) .Conclusions : There is no relationship between the duration of use of the computer vision student N 2 Surakarta .Key Words : Computer use duration, visus, students

Abstract

Background: Health problems, either chronic or non-chronic, could possibly cause a depression. Depression in people with health problems often be seen as a normal reaction. In children, most of the time, depression is underdiagnosed or undertreated. This is possibly because children can hardly express their negative thoughts or feels, and they have unspecified somatization. Hence, this study is conducted to find information whether there is any difference in level of depression between chronic and non-chronic hospitalized child. Methods: This is an analytical descriptive study with cross sectional approach using purposive sampling. Data taken from medical records and patients-and-parents interviews using Skala Penilaian Depresi Anak as instrument for measuring the level of depression. The study conducted in 10 weeks, from November 2014 to February 2015. The subjects are 8 to 18 years old Hospitalized Child in RSUD Dr Moewardi Surakarta, as much as 102 patients, consists of 68 chronic patients and 34 non-chronic patients. The data was then analysed using Kolmogorov Smirnov test with a significance value of p < 0.05 in SPSS 20.0 for Windows. Results: The result of Kolmogorov Smirnov test shows the asymptotic significance value of 0.970 (p > 0.05), which means there is no significant difference in level of depression between chronic and non-chronic hospitalized child. Conclusions: There is no significant difference in level of depression between chronic and non-chronic hospitalized child. There should be conducted any further study about depression in hospitalized children including more influential factors that could possibly cause depression. Abstract

Background: The development of science and technology is not accompanied by decreasing prevalence of asthma. During the time, therapy success was only measured by peak expiratory flow rate, severity of symptoms, the need for other treatments, the amount of sputum and responsiveness of airway without noticed to the patients quality of life itself. The evidences suggest that increasing BMI play an important role in asthma quality of life. Therefore, it needs study about correlation BMI with asthma quality of life. Methods: This study is an observational study with cross sectional conducted in February – March 2015 in BBKPM Surakarta. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Subject to fill (1) bio-data form, (2) Questionnaire : Asthma Control Test (ACT) and Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (AQLQ). Treatment in respondent (1) Measurement height and weight. Data obtained by 103 subjects and analyzed using Spearman correlation through SPSS 20.00 for Windows. Result: This study shows the value of Spearman correlation r = -0,541; p < 0,05, which means there is a negative correlation was statistically significant between BMI and asthma quality of life among asthma controlled grup with a moderate correlation strength. Whereas among asthma uncontrolled grup shows the value of Spearman correlation r = -0,852; p < 0,05 which means there is a negative correlation was statistically significant between BMI and asthma quality of life with a very strong correlation strength. Conclusion: There is a moderate negative correlation and statistically significant between BMI and asthma quality of life among asthma controlled grup. And then there is a very strong negative correlation and statistically significant between BMI and asthma quality of life among asthma uncontrolled grup. Keywords: BMI, Asthma Quality of Life

Abstract

Background: Coffee contains many potentially active compounds such as caffeine, chlorogenic acids, trigonellin, magnesium, etc. that affect health. Effect of coffee consumption and hypertension is still not known with certainty because of differences in the results of existing research. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between coffee consumption and hypertension. Methods: This study was conducted with a cross-sectional study of the 103 elderly in Ngudi Sehat Elderly IHC, Surakarta. Samples obtained from the total sample with inclusion and exclusion criteria (n = 90). Independent variable data that is amount and type of coffee consumption obtained from interviews. While the variable dependet taken by measuring blood pressure and categorize by JNC VII. Data were tested with the non-parametric Spearman correlation test and ordinal regression test (α <0.05). Results: The results of the Spearman correlation test showed no significant correlation between the amount of coffee consumption and hypertension (p = 0.432) as well as the type of coffee and hypertension (p = 0.668) in the elderly. Meanwhile, the results of ordinal regression test showed variable that significant influences hypertension are age and body mass index. Conclusion: There is no relationship between coffee consumption and hypertension in the elderly. Elderly with hypertension is recommended to live a healthy lifestyle such as maintaining body weight with physical activity, stop smoking and maintaining intake of nutrient. Abstract

Introduction: Online game is quite popular for an entertainment source in all over the world, according Indonesia. Online games has magical attraction that makes people eager to play it, such as three dimension graphic (3D), social and competitive aspect, as well as the play that runs like in real time. Several research reveal that playing online game too much can lead to a bad effect for the mental health of the player. This research has the purpose to find out whether there is a correlation between the duration of playing online game and the game type with the depression level of young adult visitor in Kingdom Game Centre Surakarta Methods: The kind of this research is analytical observational research with cross sectional approach. The population is the young adult visitor of Kingdom game centre in Surakarta. During March 2015, by using fixed exposure technique sampling, the researcher took sample of 56 repondents who fulfill the criterion. Duration of playing and type of online game is measured by using questionnaire, depression level is measured by using Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The data is analysed by using double linear regression technique. Result: The duration time of playing online games has comparable significant correlation with the player’s depression level (p = 0,018). Type of game has significant correlation with the player’s depression level (p = 0,049), in which the player of MMORPG game has higher depression score compared with the player of MMORTS or MMOFPS. With the closeness of the relationship between these three variables is approximately (0,508). The accuracy of regression model 0.215 showed that 21.5% depression that occurred at the sample is due to the duration and type of game Conclusions: The longer the duration of playing online game then the depression will be heavier. MMORPG player will have heavier depression level compared with the player of other type of games. Keywords: Duration of Playing Online Game, Type of Online Game, Depression Level

Abstract

Background: Stature measurement is one of forensic identification examinations. One of evidence that probably found in forensic cases is head circumference. The aim of this research aimed to know the correlation between head circumference and stature. Methods: This research was descriptive analytic with cross-sectional study design. The research was held in Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sebelas Maret with 82 samples of students which consisted of 46 males and 36 females. Independent variable of this research were head circumference ehich was measured with medline. Dependent variable of this research was stature which was measured with microtoise in centimeter. Samples obtained were measured stature and head circumference The result obtained was tested with pearson correlation and simple linear regression test. Results: The statistical analysis result significant correlation between head circumference and stature (r=0,670, p<0,01).The regression equation for stature and head circumference was found to be Y= 6,037 + 2,836 X (R2=0,449). Where Y is the stature of individual and X is the head circumference. Conclusions: There was significant correlation between head circumference and stature.Therefore, the present study will help in medico-legal cases in establishing the identity of an individual. Abstract

Introduction:Caries is a problem that happen in many children around the world. Bottle feeding is one of factors that can occur caries on children’s teeth. High level of mothers knowledge about bottle feeding is assumed can prevent their children from caries.This study aims to determine the correlation between level of mothers knowledge in bottle feeding with early childhood caries in children aged 3-5 years old. Methods:This research was a cross-sectional observational analytic study. The subjects of this study was mother of Islam Bakti XI Surakarta and Sri Juwita Hanum kindergarten student. The sample size was 113 mother which was taken by purposive sampling. This research was done by using Knowledge of Bottle (KBU) questionnare and examination of childrens teeth. Data was analyzed with spearman test by Statistical Product and Serve Solution (SPSS) version 21.0 for Windows. Results:This study showed that the correlation between level of mothers knowledge in bottle feeding with early childhood caries in children aged 3-5 years old were significant (r = 0,917, p = 0,000). Conclusions:This study concluded that there was correlation between level of mothers knowledge in bottle feeding with early childhood caries in children aged 3-5 years old. Abstract

Background : Indonesia is currently faced by dual nutrition problems , which prevalence of obesity had increased. Obesity is often associated with aspects of oral health. Oral hygiene is important to be maintained because it can affect the overall health of the body so as to be one indicator of a persons general health. Behavioral factors play an important role in influencing the status of oral hygiene habits such as eating sugary or high - carbohydrate food. This study aimed to determine the relationship between obesity and a score oral hygiene index simplified in adolescents aged 16-18 years in SMAN 1 Surakarta by controlling confounding factors in brushing teeth habit, salivary pH and composition of dental students. Methods: This study was an observational analytical research using cross sectional approach. Sampling technique was used purposive sampling which the sample size was 30 students age 16-18 years old in SMAN 1 Surakarta taken in November 2015. Data z-score was obtained through the measurement of height and weight, whereas oral hygiene status was measured by the score of oral hygiene index simplified. Data analysis technique was Kolmogorv-Smirnov test and test correlation using contingency coefficient test. Data were processed by SPSS 20.00 for Windows. Results: This results showed there was a significant relationship between obesity with a score of oral hygiene index simplified in adolescents aged 16-18 years in SMAN 1 Surakarta (p = 0,003). The contingency coefficient test showed there was a strong uphill linear relationship between obesity with OHIS score (r = 0,619) Conclusion: This study concluded that there was a relationship between obesity with a score of oral hygiene index simplified in adolescents aged 16-18 years in SMAN 1 Surakarta. Abstract

Introduction: Beside sodium monofluorophosphate, herbal toothpaste contained betel leaf extracts and lime extracts which  were  active composition of toothpaste. This research aimed to know in vitro differentiation of antifungal effect in herbal toothpaste and non herbal toothpaste against Candida albicans. Methods: This study applied an analytical experimental method. The subject of this research were cultured Candida albicans and taken by purposive randomized sampling. Toothpastes used in this study were toothpaste with 1 herbal ingredient, toothpaste with 2 herbal ingredients and non-herbal toothpaste. This research used 16 treatment groups by giving toothpaste solution with concentration of 20%, 30%, 50%, 70% and 90%, and this was also given ketoconazole 25 µg/ml as positive control. Concentration expressed as weight per volume (w/v). This research was repeated three times to minimize the occurrence of bias. The plate was incubated at 37°C for 24 hours and then formed inhibitory diameter zone was measured. The data was analyzed using One-Way ANOVA test, then this was continued by Least Significant Differences (LSD) Post-Hoc test. Results: One-way ANOVA test showed that there were differences of antifungal effect in herbal toothpaste and non herbal toothpaste (p = 0.003). Compared to non-herbal toothpaste, toothpaste with 1 herbal ingredient had significant differences started in concentration of 70%. Toothpaste with 2 herbal ingredients had significant differences started in concentration of 50%. Meanwhile, toothpaste with 2 herbal ingredients had significant differences compared to toothpaste with 1 herbal ingredient started in concentration of 90%. Conclusions: The antifungal effect in both herbal toothpaste and non herbal toothpaste were different. However, the significant differences appeared significantly in different concentrations.
