Abstract

Abstract: The core of multiculturalism is the willingness to re­ceive other groups as an equal and united part. It denies cul­tu­ral, ethnical, gender, language and religious distinctions. Multicul­tura­lism becomes a contextual idea relating to the current contemporary society. The basic priciples of equity, justice, open­ness, and difference recognition are the value principle needed by human in the crush of global culture. Thus, education has been an appropriate media to establish emulti­cultural. As a result, it is urgently required to design a curriculum of multi­cultural education containing some materials that are able to present multiperspectives of certain cultural phenomena.

Abstract

Abstract: This article carefully observes Islamic education bipolarly---Islamic education looked through the perspective of normative-textualist and historical-contextualist. The perspec­tives execute the construction of materials and Islamic education approach that would be transformed. This will determine the shape of religion character.  Both perspectives posses strong and waek points. Yet, it can be deduced that no single perspective is applicable for any situations. Consequently, religious teachers must be accurate in applying the two perspectives on the basis of contectual-persuasiveness matching to life dynamic.

Abstract

Abstract: Akhlak (morality) is the most substansial device to perform the roles of human both as the God’s and as the social creations. Akhlak is the source of goodness, due to the fact that Muhammad, the prophet, had been considered the akhlak perfector. Akhlak is an individual humanization tool to interact with social community, however, the life wolud be catastrophi­zing without akhlak. Moral decadence accuring in this era is the impact of the lack of akhlak actualization. Education, which its role is to promote akhlak, is fail to operate it. Afterall, it needs to revitalize the role of education in promoting akhlak to be actualized in the Indonesian plural life.

Abstract

Abstract: Islam is a religion that has great attention to science. Islam was emphasized his followers to continue their studies and learn and to remove it. In the Quran has explained that a noble person in the sight of Allah is only for two things; for his faith and because the height of their knowledge. Not because of the position or wealth. The first verse of God is revealed Surat al-Alaq, in the verse that God commands us to read and learn. God teaches us with Qalam often we mean with a pen. Therefore we can take the conclusions of science must be juxtaposed with faith. Can not be separated between the two. A cross between faith and science will produce an advanced civilization called The Islamic Civilization.

Abstract

Abstract: This article is to describe the concept and the theory of Multiple Intelligences developd by Howard Gardner. Further­more, it tries to explain how they are applied in the classroom in the Islamic education learning. The theory is the development of doubled-intelligences theory stating that human have different intelligences. Gardner argues that human are endowed eight intelligences---linguistic, natural, logic-mathematic, interper­so­nal, intrapersonal, spatial, musical, and natural. In educational context, Gardner’s theory effects the learning practice in school as well as the parents treatment to the children in the house. In practice, learning is demanded to develop each intelligence and use any kinds of intelligences to measure the students’ intelli­gence.

Abstract

Abstract: Langgar (prayer house) is the oldest Islamic education institution in Indonesia that has been grown and developed in Islamic communities. It is established earlier  than pesantren (Islamic boarding school), conventional school, and madrasah (Islamic school). Langgar has been taking an important role in preparing qur’anic generation, especially junior level, for a long time. In the Indonesian Islamic education cluster, langgar is catagorized as one of non-levelling Islamic educations. It has educational elements that forms langgar’s educational system. The system covers students care, santri (students), materials, method, and evaluation. Nowadays, Langgar has been competing with the similar institution which is considered more modern, such as TK al-Qur’an (Islamic kindergarten studying Qur’an).

Abstract

Abstract: The article clarifies Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelli­gence theory. He states that the theory serves nine kinds of intelligences---linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kines­theticc, musical, interper­sonal, intraper­sonal, naturalistic, and existential. The theory claims that infants have different intelligences, moreover it influences learning orientation. It enab­les students to comprehend the subjects more easily, if the subjects are presented based on the  students’ potencies. Yet, it is important for the teachers to understand the theory to accelerate the learning process and output.

Abstract

Abstract: This article describes the concept and theory of affective, as one of the education objectives domain inspite of cognitive and psichomotoric domains. Affective dimension  is mainly connected to the development of emotional, moral, social, spiritual, esthetic, motivation. In fact, those three domains are lack of a proportional attention. National education practice focuses more on the cogni­tive aspect than effective aspect. The later aspect is considered prominent in preparing productive, mental health,  honest, and independent generations. Consequently, it is urgent to optimalize the affective based education againts the moral decadent of the country. The effort of developing effective based education must be started by en effort of designing typical syllabus and learning that enables the educators to move freely to develop affective aspect.

Abstract

Abstract: There are three aspects concerning the development of stu­dents, they are cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric aspects. Soft skill is unseperated aspect of affective one. In building students’ character, effective aspect so called soft skill aspect becomes important, moreover, it dominantly determines the suc­ceess. Soft skill is tightly related to the emotional quotient matters. It deals with ones’ ability to motivate themselves, to survive from frustration, to control the will but not to exaggerate the happi­ness, to control the mood and to manage the stress.
