The scope is not limited by state, nation, temporal duration, certain ideas, and narrow beliefs. This journal is open to various approaches, theories, methodologies, research methods carried out by scientists, academics, researchers and practitioners in the fields and disciplines: economics, social, political science, government studies, international relations, sociology, anthropology, demography, history, religious and cultural studies, philosophy of science, communication science, and development studies.

Abstract

Every celebration (hajatan) is related to the contribution custom or bhuwuh, especially the tradition in society of Taropan community in conducting routine Bhuwuhan. Bhuwuhan tradition is based on the Adep Asor value which is an attitude to honor the older relatives and the elder figures (Warok) during celebration. There is an agreement in Taropan community that is built by the Warok and the members to contribute and return the bhuwuhan during the celebration. This tradition is much conducted by the society in Pesawahan, Pedagangan and Tegalwatu villages. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to explain the routine bhuwuhan process that can be a tradition in Taropan community and analyze the social practices of Warok through the capital power-owned in order to preserve the bhuwuhan tradition in Taropan community. The research uses qualitative method by using case study approach through observation, interview and documentation. The research uses social practice theory of Pierre Bourdieu with structure analysis and agent through habitus discourse, arena and capital as the capacity of the actors. 1This custom is based on a strong kinship system and adep asor value between the members and the Warok by contributing and returning more bhuwuhan which are as a binder (investment) to make the kinship keep preserved. Moreover, social practices of the Warok to the members through the cultural, economic, social and symbolic capitals are determining the dominant position of the Warok in preserving the bhuwuhan tradition in Taropan community.

Abstract

Multirole of pesantren demand are very complex and dynamic in human development and agriculture development. Pesantrens who have noble values, the spiritual capital as well as agricultural resources are expected to drive the development of agriculture. However, the problem complexity that exist bring pesantren to changes overall and continuously to achieve its goals. This study aims to identify the key elements of the development of the institutional structure of agricultural resource management at pesantren, and also strategy formulation as well as institutional model implementation. Analysis of the institutional structure used Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), and prioritizing implementation models strategies used Exponential Comparative Method (ECM). Financing institutions identified as key elements of institutional structures at pesantren has agricultural resources. Pesantren as social institutions have the potential of agricultural resources managed by the cooperative venture or other productive enterprises. The agency is highly dependent on the financial institutions supporting with a particular scheme in order to promote the sustainability of educational activities and business management that grew up in pesantren. Institutional management of agricultural resources is reinforced by economic institutional community based on faith and good deeds that create a balance of material and spiritual well as the interests of the individual and society. Priority implementation strategy including the competency development of HR pesantren, pesantren leadership cadre and the development of vision-mission in accordance with the paradigm of sustainable development.

Abstract

Indicator of performance is an aspect to evaluate how successful local government is in carrying out development plan that had been established previously. The indicator is frequently referred to as Key Performance Indicator (Indikator Kerja Utama/IKU) stated in Medium-Term Development Planning of Local Government (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Daerah/RPJMD), a document elaborating 5-year development planning. Implementation of development programs and activities by local government is an effort to achieve the targeted performance. Various, different factors affect successful achievement of the indicators of performance. The objective of the study was to describe several factors that affected the achievement of the development performance indicator, more particularly one for economic growth (Pertumbuhan Ekonomi/ PE) and open unemployment rate (Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka/ TPT). The descriptive quantitative study analyzed quantitative indicators to describe specific dimension of the economic growth and open unemployment rate. Based on the analysis, the determinant factors for the economic growth in Sidoarjo were financial services and insurance sector, as well as unemployment variable, while those of the open unemployment rate were number of unemployment supported by inflation rate, economic growth and education level. In other words, local governments should focus on the most determinant factors to get priority for intervention programs and local government activities.

Abstract

National Program for Community Empowerment (PNPM Mandiri MP) is a government program in accelerating the poverty reduction through community empowerment approach. According to Presidential Regulation No. 15/2010, the National policy strategy of poverty reduction is an attempt conducted by government to tackle poverty. The implementation of community empowerment through PNPM-Urban Mandiri programs involved all stakeholders and policy makers among government, community and others. This study aimed to describe and analyze the process of communication, resources, commitment and bureaucratic structure as well as supporting and hindering factors of PNPM-Urban Mandiri implementation. The research method used in this study was qualitative and it was taken in PNPM-Urban Mandiri Kota Malang , East Java Province. The data analysis used was interactive data analyzing models. The result of the study shows that the implementation of PNPM-Urban that the policy of poverty reduction conducted based on the Presidential Regulation No. 15/2010 has still not effectively implemented as well as found some obstacles and problems that caused the objectives has not achieved. They were influenced by communication, resources, commitment, and bureaucratic structures.

Abstract

This research has discussed switching behavior problem mediated by customer satisfaction. The aims of this research are to understand customer satisfaction dimension which are consist of service quality, financial considerations, and convenience in its influence towards switching behavior, by using survey of 200 inactive customer to verify research hypothesis. Data analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis methods toward customer of PT. Bank Central Asia, Tbk branch Malang. This result research has shown that service quality significantly influence to switching behavior financial consideration significantly influence to switching behavior in term of low savings rate dimension, but insignificant to administration fee and loan interest, convenience insignificantly influence to switching behavior in terms of ATM and service hours. New findings that convenience is also involve provided parking lot, almost in every branch office of BCA in Malang complaining the same thing.

Abstract

This study was aimed to assess the influence of corporate governance and intellectual capital on the firm value of Bank Sector companies listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2008-2012. The unit data of Indonesia Stock Exchange is represented by the audited company's financial statements and historical data of stock prices in Indonesia Stock Exchange from the year of 2008 to 2012. Companies sampled in the study only companies which meet the sampling criteria. Data analysis used Generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA). Result of research indicates that Corporate Governance does not have significant influence on Intellectual Capital. It seems that Intellectual Capital does not have significant influence on Corporate Governance either. However, Corporate Governance and Intellectual Capital are significantly influences the firm value.

Abstract

Consuming instant coffee has become a culture in various major cities. This can be seen from the greatly increasing numbers of coffee shops as well as coffee drinkers drinking outside their homes. This research is to analyze the role of instant coffee price and quality in consumer preference and purchasing decision. The respondents are 99 out of intendended 100 individuals. Data analysis method used in the research is Partial Least Square (PLS). The Mathematical model formed is Y2 = 0.256 X1 + X2 + 0.719 0.117 Y1. This research shows that the price of instant coffee has influence on consumer preference, however the quality of instant coffee has no significant influence on their preference. Furthermore consumer preference has significant influence in the decision to purchase instant coffee.
