Abstract

Although the terminology of critical psychology is relatively recent, there have always been psychologists who opposed the field’s emerging identity and practices. Today, critical psychologists present a multitude of philosophical, scientific, and political objection. In response, critical works to identify mainstream of psychology’s unacknowledged assumption, they demonstrate their impact on psychology and in the larger society, and propose alternative theoretical frameworks research methods, and professional practices. More critics to the mainstream of psychologist as shown below ; 1) by focusing on the individual rather than the group and larger society, mainstream psychology overemphasizes individualistic values, hinders the attainment of mutuality and community, and strengthens unjust institution; 2) mainstream psychology’s underlying assumption and institutional allegiances disproportionately hurt members of powerless and marginalized groups by facilitating inequality and oppression; and 3) these unacceptable outcomes occur regardless of psychologists’ individual or collective intentions to the contrary.Keywords: critical social theory, critical psychology, psychological research

Abstract

This research applied toward 197 XI grade SMA Negeri 10 Semarang students. To collect the data, researcher used both questionnaire and the student documents. This research is aimed to know the significance of contribution achievement motivation toward achievement academic (cognitive aspect, affective aspect, and psychomotor aspect). Collected data was analyzed by product moment correlation and the regresion analysis. The final result of correlation analysis show that there is a positive contribution achievement motivation toward achievement academic (cognitive 0,7396, affective 0,4225, psychomotor 0,4096). Based on this research result, it suggests that achievement motivation term can be used as one variable contributed toward academic achievement to the next research.Keywords : Achievement Motivation, Achievement Academic.

Abstract

Individual mechanism to avoid reality is represented by the weakness in seeing themselves objectively. Avoiding behavior is discussed in two part :defense mechanism and defense tactic. Defense mechanism meaning as unconscious behavior coming out from a person to fulfilling his needs, or behavior that avoid (not accept) something he doesn’t want. Defense tactic has the same concept with defense mechanism but different on the source. The important thing is the counselee should not make a self defense. It can be done by an effective communication between the counselor and counselee. The counselor ability in counseling basic skill will be a preventive way that avoid the counselee in defense mechanism and tactic .Keywords : defense mechanism, defense tactics

Abstract

Violence, angange in a gang flight, dispute, affray and another negative behaviour many baseds on less on ability to build connection positively with another person. Ability to connected positively this called Social Skill. Social skill was ability that got individual by process learning that used to relate to the environment correctly and appropriatety. Various ability related to social skills are self control, caring with other, affiliation, conflict resolution, agreement, independence and good manner. This social skill is base on skill for live or personal skill. Study of social skill is less developed at the school. Manner of study at the school more oriented to develop academic ability likes mathematics, science and language. Potential development and Ability personal student not peculiarly putted into in subject. Study of social skill is not peculiarly putted into in some lesson. This ability development is inserted in so many existing subject and Counselling guidance activity. During the time, Still many BK's teacher that use behaviorisme approach because the activity more in supervise or Maintaineding school rule. In Permendiknas no 27/2008 explained about task context konselor aim to develop potential and independence conseli. Efforts to develop potential and independence conseli this is correcter done with approach humanistik Humanistic approach correctly used to develop student social skill. Various method that used in this approach is open education, confluent education and cooperative learning. This method can used in carry out BK activity program. Abstract

Diagnostic as one of the strides in counseling has been such a great polemic for a long time. One of the activities in diagnostic is classifying the diseases and planning their treatments (in the beginning, it is applied in clinical setting). It can’t merely be applied in counseling for normal persons. That in one of the causes of appearing the controversy about the function of diagnostic in counseling. This paper attains to investigate deeply about something which relate to various arguments between the pros and contras toward the diagnostic activities in counseling. At the end of the investigation in this paper, it states the important of the redefinition of diagnostic in counseling. Therefore, the diagnostic can also cover various activities to find out some positive aspect from the clients that can be developed optimally (developmental diagnostic).Keywords : Diagnostic, psychological diagnostic.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling in Indonesia’s school had developed for aproximately thirty five years. On those periode the development of guidance and counseling was not always had impact positively. The image of guidance and counseling in school was become dark, and school counselor was considered identical as school police were the kinds of the negatively development. One of the reason was school counselor’s roles had been forgeted, that was school counselor as a counselor, school counselor as a consultant, school counselor as a change agent, school counselor as a primary prevention agent, and school counselor as a manager. Based on those facts therefore the revitalization of the school counselor’s roles, that begun with internal initiative to carry out guidance and counseling proportionally, then strove for the understanding and reforming externally, and to increase school counselor’s skills continually, would improve school counselor’s role that were expected would carry out his roles professionally, so guidance and counseling in school would bright again.Keywords: Revitalization; Scool Counselor’s Roles.

Abstract

Adolescent phase have complex and unique characteristic, like; emotional labile, easy to hit by environmental influence, and not yet finding their self. The condition can overcome with giving optimal attention. Step early to give education and attention is understand characteristic of adolescent, know what wanted of adolescent, and later;then do approachs psychologically Workdload of parents have giving negative impact for adolescent behavior. Adolescent have losing of its rightss to get affection, not get attention, and sometimes their action cannot responbility, like fight, drunken, narcotic, action of asusila, impolite. and so on. This condition represent adolescent emotional conflict with parents which must be solved.
