Abstract

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the inability to carry out face-to-face lectures in all universities, including courses for sports science students. It results in less than optimal learning outcomes during the pandemic. Since the closing of face-to-face lectures, most universities in Indonesia have used virtual classrooms in the implementation of learning. However, the data shows that lessons in virtual classrooms without appropriate learning methods can result in a learning loss. This literature review study aims to analyze the effectiveness of flipped learning as a learning solution during the pandemic. The technique used in this study was a literature review. A systematic search of literature regarding the implementation of flipped learning during the pandemic, and the obstacles to the teaching and learning process for sports science students during the pandemic, were conducted on the PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Semantic Scholar databases. The literature analysis used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method. A total of seven articles were selected for review. The article review results revealed that implementing flipped learning increased students’ motivation, participation, and learning performance. To conclude, flipped learning can be applied to students in sports science to increase their motivation, participation, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Restrictions on community activities due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus have changed sports in Indonesia, forcing athletes to practice independently in their respective homes with training programs created by coaches. This study aims to find out the effect of circuit body weight training on arm muscle endurance and archery accuracy of archery athletes. This research is an experimental method of one group pretest-posttest design. This study employed purposive sampling with the criteria of elite archery athletes, still in high school, male, and willing to participate. Total of 12 athletes was given treatment with 8 movements for 16 meetings. The instrument is a holding bow digit test for arm muscle endurance, while archery accuracy uses 50 meters of archery. The collected data were examined for normality and homogeneity, then followed with t-test with the result that t count = 0.00 less than t (0.05). Based on the results, it is concluded that circuit bodyweight training positively improves arm muscle endurance and accuracy of archery athletes. Therefore, giving circuit bodyweight training can be used as a recommendation for physical exercise to increase arm muscle endurance and archery accuracy in archery athletes.

Abstract

The development of shotput media is one way that physical education teachers can maximize learning outcomes. The research aims to reveal the development of the results shotput modification tool and the results of the implementation effectiveness modified tool through the orthodox and Obrien styles. This research uses the development of Borg and Gall and effectiveness test research. The modified tool was assessed by material, and media experts and has been tested with the results to be presented in the sub-subexplanation explanation results and discussion. Furthermore, after the results are obtained regarding the appropriate modification tools that can be used, the effectiveness test of the two forces in the shotput is carried out. The research subjects were 30 seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Sungailangka Gedong Tataan, Pesawaran Regency. Analysis data was used in this study using the Ancova test which was carried out to see the rest difference in repulsion forces. Then perform the N-Gain Test to determine the effective application of two repulsive forces. The results revealed that the modified tool developed in both learning and effectiveness tests revealed that the developed tool had a significance of 0.00 0.05. The average orthodox force n-gain test increased by 0.44 which means that the N-Gain has increased. The results of the O'Brien style N-Gain have an average of 0.19 increase in learning outcomes using tool modifications. Based on the results, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect in the use of tool modifications on the ability to put down and place bullets using Orthodox and O'brien styles.

Abstract

Exercise can have a physiological effect on the body, including the work system of the heart and lungs. The lungs have an important role in human life, where there is an exchange of oxygen with carbon dioxide through the respiratory process. In terms of health, exercise needs to be done by every human being, because exercise can increase the work of the lung muscles, whereas if the lung muscles work well, the ability to accommodate oxygen or the vital capacity of the human lungs also increases. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of physical exercise on vital lung capacity. This research method uses a pre-experimental approach with pre and post-test one-group design. The sampling technique of this study used a random sampling of 30 respondents. The instruments used were observation sheets from the examination of vital lung capacity and spirometry. Analysis Research data analysis using the Wilcoxon Rank Test. The results of the Wilcoxon Rank Test statistical test obtained P = 0.000 with a safety level of = 0.05 meaning P value = . Conclusion It can be concluded that there is a difference in the vital capacity of the lungs before and after participating in the sacred tapak exercise so that this research is expected to be useful for athletics in improving physical fitness, especially by routinely doing sports or physical exercise such as participating in the sacred tapak exercise.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of developing a sports biomechanics module based on literacy skills to improve conceptual understanding and determine how student responses affect student concept understanding. This module was developed using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Before testing, the module must be validated. The results of the material expert validation obtained a score of 4, which was in the excellent category. The media expert validation obtained a score of 4, which was in the excellent category. Moreover, the results of language validation also obtained a score of 4, which means excellent. The results of trials conducted on 90 students showed a positive response where 60% of students stated that this product was good to use. The results of the product effectiveness test were carried out by looking at the effect of the response with the understanding of students' concepts using regression testing. The results of the simple linear regression test showed results of 54.1% on the coefficient of determination which indicated that there was an effect of student responses on understanding the concept. So that the use of this biomechanics module is effective for use in the learning process.
