Abstract

This research aims to know average mastery students in Learning Skills through sika Internet process of Science (KPS) and the concept of Learning approach (PK). Experimental design on this research uses Kuasi Experimental Design with Posttest-Only type Control Design. Data analysis techniques mastery PK using an average score of an average mastery of concepts and hypothesis testing using the test for Independent Samples T Test, While the concept of mastery KPS data analysis using data based on the learning process of observation and hypothesis testing using the test for Independent Samples T Test.Based on concept mastery test obtained average mastery students in experimental class 1 (KPS approach) se be sar 90 (due diligence). On the experimental class 2 (PK approach) gained an average mastery students exactly sar 80 (completely). Based on the results of calculations known drift score concept mastery students in classes of KPS 79,32% (completely), while the average grade PK, known to score students ' mastery of 65,60% (completely).These results indicate that KPS approach more effectively used as an effort to promote mastery of the concepts students in learning.Keywords: Science Process Skills Approach (KPS), Concept Learning Approach (PK), mastery of the concepts students.

Abstract

The material of particle dynamics, notably Newton second law, highly demands students’ ability to analyze and describe the directions of the certain force at one particular system as a mean to assist them in comprehending a concept. The teachers, who involve in the process of teaching the materials, need to choose a visual representation that is supported by other representation formats. Through this technique, students are demnded to comprehend the concept and solve the problems easier. The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of free-body diagram representation skill towards the comprehension of the concept in particle dynamics material. In line with the purpose, the researcher decided One-Shot Case Study as the research design. Then, Sample class was selected by purposive sampling.The results of this research showed that there was a linear and significant influence of the free body diagram representation skill towards students’ concept comprehension. It was about 43,6%. The degree of relation between free-body diagram representation skill and concept comprehension had a strong relationship and its influence contributed positively.Keywords: Free Body Diagram Representation Skill, Inquiry Learning Model Multiple Representation Based, Concept Comprehension.

Abstract

According to the writer’s observation in the school by using interview with the students and science teacher in the SMPN Bina Bhakti Way Pangubuan, it is given that the teacher has not use the school facilities maximally such as teaching laboratory. In the basic competence states of matter, students can not receivethat material clearly, exactly in investigate the physical properties based on its states and its application in the students’ daily life. Considering these problems, therefore the writer develops the worksheet as a learning media. The worksheet is developed based on KPS. KPS is the directly investigate by students thatcontains the questions (doing and predicting observation, rouping, predicting, communicating, and hypothesizing an event), the activity of science ability process (pre-laboratory and laboratory activity), summarizing, doing the exercises, and evaluating. There is a key answer of this worksheet. The designconsists of seven steps development procedure and product test, they are:analysis necessity, identification resources to meet a need, identificationspecifications intended products users, product development, test internal proper test products, test external test expedience products by users and the laststage production. The result of internal test shows that the media has been developed satisfies theory criteria and fit for use as one of the media of learning. The result of external test shows that the quality of this media is very interesting, very easy to use, and very useful and effective to use as a learningmedia. It can be seen from the students’ enthusiastic and the students’ ability to answer worksheet’s questions. So, we can conclude this worksheet learning media based KPS has been tested and proper to use with the quality is very interesting, very easy to use, and very useful, and it is called effective as alearning media. Keywords: Worksheet Students Based Skill Process Science

Abstract

A module is a lesson material presented systematically with understandablelanguage for students according to their ability and knowledge levels, so that thestudents will be able to learn autonomously with or without teacher assistances.However, there is no module in State Junior High School 20 in Bandar Lampungthat is in accordance with grade-based curriculum (or KTSP) 2006. Therefore, amodule that is able to improve student’s autonomous learning is required todevelop. The learning media development design of printed-based physic module(or MFBC) is adapted from instructional media development process by Sadiman(2008) as the reference that consists of need analysis of development program,development design, product development, and product evaluation, producttesting and product printing. This evaluation consists of formative evaluation I,formative evaluation II, formative evaluation III. In material test by experts, thescore was 2,8 and this belonged to good category. The second evaluation, thedesign test by experts, the score was 2,9. This score belonged to good categoryand was in accordance with BSNP standard. The third evaluation was on-on-onetest that was conducted to three students from different classrooms (classroomVIID, VIIE and VIIG) and the score was 3,63. It belonged to good category. The lasttest was field test to find out the effectiveness and attractiveness of the module.Field test was conducted to 36 students in VIIE classroom in State Junior HighSchool 20 in Bandar Lampung. The effectiveness test result showed 77,7%student accomplished the material and they got average marks of 74,07, and itwas above the minimum criteria of accomplishment (or KKM). Attractiveness,easiness, and benefit tests were conducted to students who experienced learningusing developed module by giving them questionnaires. The results showed thatthe developed module was very interesting, very easy and very beneficial.Keywords: development research, learning media, printed-based media, module

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know: the positive influences the significances of metacognition toward the competence of the concepts of physics for senior high school by cooperative model with think pair share; are there positive influences and significances of metacognition skills toward critical thinking for senior high school students, by cooperative model with think pair share type. This research uses one-shot case study design. Those influences can be measured by holding final test or post test for the students after the learning process and metacognition skills, by cooperative learning model with think pair share type. The competence of physics concepts and critical thinking of metacognition skills of students were examined by regression test. Based on this research, can be concluded that: there are positive influences and significances of metacognition skills toward the competence of physics concepts through cooperative learning model with think pair share type; there are positive influences significances toward critical thinking of senior high school students by cooperative learning model with think pair share type. Student learning outcomes can be improved applying a learning model ARIAS and Scientific Inquiry Pictorial Techniques Riddle. This study aims to: (1) know the difference between average yield learnng physics students taught using inquiry learning model ARIAS with Scientific Techniques Pictorial Riddle, (2) determine average physics student learning outcomes are higher among ARIAS learning model with Scientific inquiry Pictorial Techniques Riddle. This research has been carried out in second semester of school year 2012/2013 in SMAN 13 Bandarlampung and the sample class XI IPA2 and XI IPA1 totaling 80 students. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The design is One-Shot Case Study. Learning outcomes data obtained from average achievement test. Data were analyzed using independent sample t test. The results of analysis of data with an average value of learning outcomes in the classroom ARIAS at 64.39 while Pictorial Technique of Scientific Inquiry class Riddle of 74.91. Thus be concluded: (1) There is difference between average yield learning physics students taught using inquiry learning model ARIAS with Scientific Techniques Pictorial Riddle, (2) Average yield learning physics students taught using learning model ARIAS lower than average learning outcomes of students who were taught physics model Pictorial Riddle Engineering Scientific Inquiry.Key words: ARIAS, Scientific Inquiry Pictorial Techniques Riddle, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out: 1) the influence of science process skill (or KPS) to student’s physic learning results through experiment method with guided inquiry approach; 2) experiment method effectiveness with guided inquiry approach in training/developing student’s science process skill indicated by unimproved student’s learning results. This was a quasi experiment and conducted in State Senior High School 1 in Punduh Pidada in Pesawaran regency. Population was all students of grade X in State Senior High School 1 in Punduh Pidada. Samples were students in classroom X1 and were selected with purposive sampling technique. Data were collected with test method and non test method (observation) by using pretest and posttest learning results and observation sheets of science process skill. This research used simple linier regression test and t-test for analysis, where the requirement test used normality and linearity tests. The results showed that t-count was higher than t-table (4.169 2.035), so that Ho that stated that there was no any influence between science process skills to the student’s physic learning results through experiment method with guided inquiry approach was rejected. It meant that there was a significant influence of science process skill to student’s physic learning results through experiment method with guided inquiry approach. R Square analysis derived a very significant influence (36.7%). In addition, experiment method with guided inquiry approach was very effective in training/developing science process skill as well as improving student’s learning results (cognitive domain). The proof was 79% improvement percentage of average student’s learning results.Keywords: science process skill, experiment method, and guided inquiry

Abstract

The objective of physic learning as a process is to improve student’s thinking ability. To achieve student’s thinking skill in learning, a method and learning source are needed to develop student’s thinking skill. The use of learning source based on science generic skill (or KGS) is very needed in Ohm’s Law and Kirchoff’s First Law materials, because in these materials students are able to conduct generic skills such as direct observation, indirect observation, awareness about scale, mathematic modeling, and logical inference. These skills are able to apply by conducting a practicum using student’s work sheet (or LKS) based on science generic skill (or KGS) that is able to develop student’s thinking skill in Ohm’s Law and Kirchoff’s First Law materials. This development research used development model adapted from Suyanto with the following stages: 1) need assessment, 2) resource identification, 3) product specification identification, 4) product development, 5) internal test, 6) external test, and 7) production. Based on the test field results conducted with one-shot case study design, the conclusions were that the Ohm’s Law student’s work sheet was not effective to be used as a learning source with the student’s passing percentage of 74.2% and the student’s work sheet of Kirchoff’s First Law was effective to be used as a learning source with the student accomplishment percentage of 83.3%. Achieved indicators of science generic skill (KGS) in Ohm’s Law student’s work sheet were direct observation (98.4%), indirect observation (75.8%), and awareness about scale (100%). Indicators of mathematic modeling and logical inference were not achieved in Ohm’s Law student’s work sheet with percentages of 68.5% and 64.54% respectively. Achieved indicators of science generic skill in student’s work sheet of Kircoff’s First Law were indirect observation (93.3%), awareness about scale (97.5%), and logical inference (76.6%). Mathematic modeling was not achieved in student’s work sheet of Kirchoff’s First Law with 71.6% percentage. Results of attraction and ease questionnaires were 3.07 and 3.26 respectively and they belonged to attracting and very easy criteria.Keywords: Development, LKS, KGS.

Abstract

The thinking skills of students can not be separated from the role of a teacher, because the role of a teacher affect student learning outcomes. Besides questions given by the teacher is also one important factor to consider, as most questions given to students not refer to the thinking of students, the student should be able to think in symbolic or imaginative in solving a problem. The results showed that students ability to think in SMAN I Abung Pekurun only covers in three categories A1, C1, and C2. In the category A1 with a percentage of 20%, category C1 2.85% and category C2 at 77.14%. Based on data analysis results show that most students have the ability to think in the concrete operational stage C2. In this category students' mastery of concepts is pretty well.Kemampuan berpikir siswa tidak lepas dari peran seorang guru, karena peran seorang guru berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Selain itu soal yang diberikan oleh guru juga merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang perlu diperhatikan, karena sebagian besar soal yang diberikan kepada siswa belum mengacu ke arah berpikir siswa, yaitu siswa diharapkan dapat berpikir secara simbolik atau imajinatif dalam emecahkan suatu permasalahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir siswa SMAN I Abung Pekurun Kota Bumi hanya mencakup tiga kategori yaitu A1, C1, dan C2. Pada kategori A1 dengan persentase 20%, kategori C1 sebesar 2,85% dan kategori C2 sebesar 77,14%. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa sebagian besar siswa memiliki kemampuan berpikir pada tahap operasional konkret C2. Pada kategori ini penguasaan konsep siswa cukup baik.Kata kunci : kemampuan berpikir, tahap operasional konkret, dan tahap operasional formal.
