Abstract

The rural economy is driven strategically by Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes). Insufficient understanding of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles, along with the limited use of modern technology, are the aims why this study was conducted at BUMDes Tegalweru. Hindering both business development and service innovation, trigger this community service to tackle them through the implementation of digital governance employing the development of a website-based management information system. To assess the participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills; pre-test and post-test were conducted. The results indicate that there is a great increase in three competence aspects. Prior to the program, 15 participants (60%) did not understand the concepts. However, once the program was conducted, 16 participants (64%) understand the concepts. This denotes that the implementation of a digital governance system, combined with intensive training, effectively increase transparency, accountability, and community participation, ultimately supporting the realization of a professional and sustainable BUMDes.

Abstract

The program, which aimed to operationalize fundamental husbandry concepts through skill application, involved a three-step organised training–demonstration–mentoring model and was conducted in Sungkai, Perak, Malaysia. The materials were considered to be suitable with respect to existing farm situation and would help in performance during next cycle including better FCR, SR and cost reduction. Satisfaction was high (60% scored 10), and the intent for follow-up clinic use strong (most ≥8), suggesting readiness for further capacity building. In conclusion, a short demand-driven UB–UPM collaboration model successfully developed basic competencies amongst amateur smallholder practitioners using cheaper higher controlled systems; program follow-on including post-training technical mentoring along with supervision and farm level targets are proposed in order to translate knowledge gains into verified mid-term production/ sustainability successes.

Abstract

Bandulan Village in Malang City faces limited agricultural land, leaving local resources such as sweet potatoes underutilized despite their high adaptability and nutritional value. This study used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to assess changes in knowledge, behavior, and community empowerment among 20 members of the Pangan Sentosa Women Farmers Group (KWT) following training on the SIPULUNG sack-based sweet potato cultivation system. The program resulted in notable improvements: knowledge increased by 70%, participation by 75%, goal achievement by 80%, behavioral change by 75%, and environmental impact indicators by 75%. These findings show that SIPULUNG strengthens community capacity in urban settings and aligns with SDG 2 and SDG 12 through sustainable, low-land, low-chemical practices. The group is positioned to pioneer an innovative model of community food security that supports broader national food resilience.

Abstract

Modern Islamic boarding schools require stable internet access to support learning activities, administrative management, and communication. This study implements a Wi‑Fi network using an Orbit Star N1 module, Belden STP Cat cable, and a TP‑Link TL‑WR840N router at PPAI An‑Nahdliyah Karangploso, specifically in the Workshop Building and the Grocery Store. The implementation includes device placement planning, cable management, signal distribution optimization, and access point (AP) positioning. Performance evaluation was conducted by measuring the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) and analyzing signal coverage through simulation. The results consistently indicate that AP installation at heights of 2 m or 3 m provides the most optimal indoor Wi‑Fi coverage and signal strength. This height effectively mitigates physical obstacles and ensures more uniform signal distribution, thereby improving internet service quality to support educational, administrative, and operational activities within the boarding school environment.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of PKK women members in Malang City regarding the production of healthy, fiber-rich meatballs. The program introduced the use of Eucheuma cottoni as a tapioca substitute and Auricularia nigricans as a functional fiber source to enhance meatball texture and nutritional value. Educational sessions covered ingredients, formulation, processing methods, packaging, and storage techniques. Participants were also introduced to various meatball formulations, including chicken-beef mixtures and 100% beef meatballs. Conducted on May 24, 2025, with 20 participants, the activity resulted in a 10–53% increase in participants’ knowledge based on pre- and post-activity questionnaire analysis

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the digital marketing capacity of BUMDes in Tegalweru Village by empowering local youth through training in creative content development using artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted design tools. The program, conducted in collaboration with BUMDes managers and youth organizations, focused on equipping participants with practical skills to create engaging promotional materials and manage Instagram as a primary platform for brand communication. The participatory approach included socialization, focus group discussions, hands-on training, and mentoring. Evaluation results showed significant improvements in participants’ creativity, digital literacy, and ability to independently produce and publish high-quality content on Instagram. The initiative not only increased the visibility and engagement of BUMDes products online but also fostered youth empowerment and sustainable digital transformation in the rural community. It is recommended to replicate this model in other villages to accelerate the adoption of digital marketing and AI-based innovation for rural enterprise development.
