Abstract

This research aims to know and to analyze the impact of transshipment policy on production and business performance of long line vessels, effectiveness of transshipment policy, and constrain factors on the policy implementation. Respondents of this research are 60 long line vessels with criteria above 50 GT. This research method use qualitative and quantitative descriptive. This research show that the implementation of transhipment policy reduce the catching fishery production by 15% and Tuna commodity by 26%. The impact of transhipment policy also reduce the business performance. This results show that sailing trip is decrease. Otherwise, catching tonage, sizing output and earning are decrease. Effectiveness of transhipment policy on the input and process with indicator of performance very good and so do the output. Constrain factors on implementation of transshipment policy are businessman can not fulfill standart product of freshness, otherwise there is regulation of fishery transhipment activities for carrying fishing vessels yet.

Abstract

This  research is aimed to know the income of fishermen households, to analyze the contribution of alternative businesses to total income, to analyze the involvement of family members of the fishermen and the time spent to conduct alternative business of traditional fishermen in Nembrala Village, Rote Ndao Regency. Method of research is survey method through interview and observation technique. Respondents in this research as many as 35 people taken by purposive (intentionally). The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis approach. The results showed that the average income of fishermen households for 1 year was Rp. 9,274,271.43 ± 853,574,82, the involvement of fishermen family members found that in the alternative activity of poultry and pigs dominantly done by the combination of female laborers (fisherman's wife) and child labor that is 51.43% and 42.86% respectively, while in the weaving bundle business is dominant done by female worker (wife of fisherman) equal to 48,57%, outpour time family member of fisherman at 3 (three) alternative effort is woman labor equal to 3,51 hour / day, child labor 2,57 hours / day , and man labor 1.13 hours / day. The result of this research can be concluded that alternative business need to be developed as a form of adaptation strategy of fisherman household in retaining earnings caused by decreasing income from main livelihood as fisherman due to seasonal change. The recommendation of this research is the development of alternative business by fisherman household in Nembrala Rote Ndao Regency can be improved and need to be supported by government policy through business capital facility and technology, so that alternative business role in increasing fisherman household income is more optimal.Key words: Resiliensi, alternative livelihood, Rote Ndao

Abstract

Kolam Pancing dan Warung Lesehan "CSDW" is one of the fishing pond located in the Sidoarjo regency. This study was conducted to analyze the behavior of visitors Kolam Pancing dan Warung Lesehan "CSDW", factors that affect the interests and factors which have been the dominant influence. This research method using descriptive study and the type of data used are primary data and secondary data. Determination of the number of samples using the formula of linear time function and the sampling technique using nonprobability sampling. The method of collecting data by interviews, observations, questionnaires and documentation. The variables used in this study for the independent variable is the individual factors, environmental factors, psychological factors and the marketing mix, while the dependent variable is the interest to visit. Methods of data analysis using classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis and statistical tests. The results showed that the independent variables used have a significant impact together on the dependent variable and generate a regression model Y= 2,968 – 0,067X1 + 0,136 X2 + 0,211 X3 + 0,102 X4 + e. While partially, the independent variables that affect significantly ie environmental factors, psychological factors and the marketing mix. Keywords: visiting interest, kolam pancing and warung lesehan “CSDW”

Abstract

Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries No. 2 / 2015 about the prohibition of the use of cantrang in the State Fishery Management Area of the Republic of Indonesia is an effort of the Government to anticipate the destructive fishing, namely environmental damage and decrease of fish resources. The purpose of this research is to know repulsion and acceptability of cantrang fisherman to that Regulation. This descriptive research uses data collection techniques through surveys, interviews and documentation, and using questionnaires. This regulation has an impact on the cantrang fishing vessel should not operate, this causes unemployment for the crew, if the government implements that regulations then every ship does not require many crew. The existence of the prohibition of the use of cantrang nets cause increasing of the unemployment rate, when someone does not work it means that income begins to be hampered. On the other hand, the Regulation has a positive impact for the future in the form of sustainable of marine ecosystem. Keywords: perception, fishermen, fisheries and marine minister regulation no 2/2015, cantrang

Abstract

Ngerong Cave is a cave with a length of 1.8 km is located in the center of Rengel District. This cave is a unique cave because of it flowing river inhabited millions of Bader Bang Fish (Punctius javanicus) from small to more than 70 cm long, hundreds of big fish arengan (Morelius/Labeo chrysophekadion), dozens of bulus/labi- labi with a diameter of more than one meter, and millions of bats that live on the roof of the cave. The preservation of these animals (especially aquatic animals) is inseparable from the myths that circulate in the community about the sacred nature of the place and its animals. The main myths in circulation are: whoever eats or brings home fish from the river in Ngerong Cave will be infected with a disease that never healed even will cause a mysterious death. This is a continuation of the myth that the invisible creature wich live in Ngerong Cave will not be willing if their pets are harassed by humans and will pursue the man by asking for his life. Because of the myth, the preservation of river animals in Ngerong Cave can be maintained and protected from human disturbance. Research on the benefits of myths in preserving aquatic animals in Ngerong Cave has a goal to explain to the scientific world that the myth (as one study of cultural anthropology) has a very big role in maintaining environmental sustainability. In general, the methodology of this study used a mixing method in the form of qualitative methods with data analyzed from literature studies and field studies, methods adapted to the focus of the problems studied. In this study, the results obtained depict in depth cultural events in the study area.

Abstract

This study aims to describe about economic valuation of mangrove forest ecosystem in Teluk Ambon Baguala District. This research is a quantitative research. Data were collected through interviews, documentation and observation. Method analysis employed was total economic value. Overall, the economic value of mangrove forest ecosystem service is Rp. 7.273.222.250 per year, with the following description: Passo for Rp. 3.858.009.750 per year, Negeri Lama for Rp. 945.628.100 per year, Desa Nania for Rp. 650.750.400 per year and Waiheru for Rp. 1.818.834.000 per year.

Abstract

SMEs Softboned-Milkfish (called as Bandeng Presto) “Bu Jeni” is one of SMEs of fish product in Malang City. This research conducted to determine and analyze the effect of the marketing mix and marketing mix variables that have a dominant influence on purchase decisions of Softboned-Milkfish “Bu Jeni”. Research method using quantitative descriptive research. Type of data used are primary and secondary data. Determination of the number of samples using the linear time function method and the sampling technique used was accidental sampling. The method of collecting data is observations, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Research variables used consist of independent variables including product, price, place, and promotion, as well as the dependent variable is the purchase decision. Methods of data analysis using the instrument test data, the classic assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing. The research result available to the regression equation Y = 2,695 + 0,535X1 + 0,223X2 + 0,467X3 + 0,183X4 + e. Simultaneously, the independent variables be used to real a significant effect together on the dependent variable. Partially, the independent variables have significant effect individually on the purchasing decision are product and place, while the other variables that price and promotion have no significant effect on purchasing decisions. The product strategy is the dominant variable determine the purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The aims of the research are to know and to analyze the performance of catfish hatchery business in Desa Maguan viewed from the perspective of finance and non finance. The research use survey method with qualitative and quantitative descriptive research. The result show that the business performance is 77,44% in "very healthy" condition with A category. The business in financial perspective has very good performance with AA category with score 93,75. The strategy in financial perspective are they need to increase net profit with productive investment (adding pond) and to minimize costs. From the perspective of customers, this business has a poor performance compared to other perspectives with the BBB category with a score of 56.25%. The strategy in customer perspective is they need to enhance customer satisfaction which can be obtained by looking ahead of product, price, promotion, and place. On the internal business perspective, the business has a pretty good performance with A category with a score of 70%. The strategy in internal business perspective are they should be keeping quality standards on fish fry, adding new pond, and giving aftersales service. In the learning and growth perspective has a very good performance with the category of AA with a score of 91.7%. The strategy should be achieved to maintain and to improve learning and growth perspective is improvement of employee’s satisfaction by giving bonus and accompany employees while they are working. Keywords: evaluation, performance, catfish hatchery business, Balanced Score Card

Abstract

Production of marine fisheries in Barsela over the last five years, based on capture fisheries statistical data of Aceh province, has increased to 285,926.6 tonnes in 2010-2014. Therefore, the total production will affect fishing effort and the fishermen (DKP 2010-2014). The increasing factors of the number of fishing fleet in every year followed by the increasing of fish production still cannot increase the income and welfare of fishermen, particularly the joint business group (KUB) of gillnet fishermen whom are categorized as small-scale fishermen. This study aims to analyse the feasibility of gillnet fishermen's KUB in the area of Barsela Aceh. The result showed that KUB of gillnet fishermen is feasible to continue an average profit of Rp 58.878621. The value of R/C is > 1 with an average value of 1.50. The value of average PP is 1,49 (18 months) to restore the stock. The feasibility of business investment of gillnet fishermen's KUB obtained NPV value > 1, with the average value of 51.951.818, the value of Net B/C is > 1 with an average value of 1.73 and IRR values with an average value of 54%, higher than interest rate level (14%) so that it can be concluded that the JBG of gillnet fishermen is feasible to continue.

Abstract

Fishery SMEs of in Malang city is increasing, these SMEs owner face up the challenge of confronting competitor’s product. Fishery SMEs can improve their competitiveness through marketing knowledge competency, entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and need to grow the marketing capabilities and improving marketing performance. This study aimed to analyze the effect of marketing knowledge competency on marketing capabilities, EO on marketing capabilities, marketing knowledge competency on marketing performance, EO on marketing performance, and marketing capability on marketing performance. This research used SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) with WarpPLS 3.0 approach. Population in this research were owner fishery SMEs as much as 304 owners in Malang City. Samples taken by proportionate random sampling technique. This research was conducted by spreading quetionnaires to 115 owners of fishery SMEs in Malang City. These results showed that marketing knowledge competency has positive and significant effect on marketing capabilities, EO has positive and significant effect on marketing capabilities, marketing knowledge competency has positive and significant effect on marketing performance, EO has positive and significant effect on marketing performance, and marketing capabilities has positive and significant effect on marketing performance. We recommend that the owners of fishery SMEs tp improve the EO and marketing capabilities to result good marketing performance. However, marketing competency knowledge should also be maintained.
