Abstract

Indonesia has an area of ocean that reaches 70% of the area of Indonesia. Judging from the results of such potential and should therefore be able to provide a very decent livelihood for fishing communities. Many marine areas in Indonesia are experiencing overfishing. Over exploitation of this fish occurs mostly in coastal areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness of the fishing community in the implementation of the Regulation menyingkapi Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 2 of 2015, and economic influence enactment of the Regulation Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 2 in 2015. Methods of data collection is done by several techniques making that method interview, FGD as well as data documentation and literature, analysis using expert judgment. Fishermen feel unprepared due ver the gear used are derived from their ancestors and that's all they know. The use of trawl gear types and cantrang did have a good economic impact for fishermen but it would be bad for the environment while gill net fishing gear types have less positive impact on fishermen's income but will not have negative consequences for the environment in the preservation of biological resources. Viewed from the longest life cycle of the fish so if regulations Fisheries Minister is applied takes at least 7 to 9 years to return to normal with the efforts of all pihak.Rekomendasinya is the government provides continuous mentoring program on the use of new fishing gear, giving compensation to fishermen in the form of income support programs to the preservation of biological returned to normal and improve the environment continuously. Keyword : Readiness of fishing communities, economic studies fishermen, Regulation of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 2 2015

Abstract

The fresh fish consumption behaviour has been attracting the previous researchers. Unfortunately, few studies based on Indonesia were held by the researchers. Due to the lack of the previous study, the purposes of the study are to investigate the influence of attitudes, control of perceived behaviour, and subjective norm on intention to consume fish, and to examine the relationship of the fish consumption intention with consumption behaviour. The study applies plan behaviour theory to understand the raised phenomena in this paper. The number of respondents participated in this study is fifty-five. SEM-PLS is used to analysis data supported by assessment of measurement and structural model as the smart-pls procedure. The results indicate that there is a positive effect of attitude toward behaviour on intention to consume fish. Besides, fish consumption intention also has a significant association with consume behaviour. However, the effect of the norm and control of perceived behaviour on fish consumption intention is not significant. This finding confirms the theory of plan behaviour. Practically, this finding shows implicitly that to increase the fish behaviour consumption, the intention to consume fish and attitude toward fish consume behaviour should be increased.

Abstract

The prevalence of disease spread caused by improper cultivation systems causes a decrease in the productivity level of vannamei shrimp ponds. A low salinity cultivation system is one of the cultivation innovations that can be developed to reduce the spread of disease. The purpose of this study was to describe water quality status on aquatic shrimp culture and business financial feasibility in the intensive vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) culture with low salinity levels. The research method used was quantitative descriptive with a purposive sampling technique of data collection. The result of the research is the Water Quality Index analysis value of 110 which means it is very suitable to be used as a cultivation medium. Profitability analysis produces a profit value of Rp. 244,456,603, R/C Ratio 1.35, BEP Unit 3,797, BEP Sales Rp. 188,745,587, and Profitability 35%. Meanwhile, the financial analysis of the business found that the NPV value was Rp. 19,627,985,863, the Profitability Index was 25.43%, the IRR was 27.55%, and the Payback Period was 5 years, which meant that this business was very feasible to be developed based on its financial feasibility status criteria. So that the overall, low salinity shrimp culture is very feasible to be applied when viewed from the ecological or economic advantage, and can be used as an alternative for vannamei shrimp aquaculture in areas that have the location of a pond far from the source of marine water.

Abstract

There is still a different perspective on the fishery aspect of the importance of diversifying the fish farming business in freshwater, causing a low quantity of aquaculture entrepreneurs as well as the diversity of fish cultivation businesses in freshwater. Therefore, a reference basis is needed through a study on the perspective of these stakeholders to determine an appropriate cultivation business strategy to be implemented. The study used interview methods and questionnaires for 40 stakeholder respondents in the field of fisheries and analyzed with Analysis Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results show that land suitability, supportive laws and regulations, market demand, public perception/perspective, and adequate availability of human resources are the main contributing factors in the expansion of the freshwater fish farming business on Sibundong river. The actors expected by the community in the expansion of fish aquaculture business are Bappeda, Freshwater Seed Hall, Marine and Fisheries Affairs and Government of Central Tapanuli, and Matauli College of Fisheries and Marine Science. All of them can be achieved by coordinating between relevant agencies intensively, conducting training/making pilot pools of freshwater cultivation, improving the distribution channels of freshwater aquaculture fisheries, conducting multi-species cultivation, and conducting environmentally-minded cultivation.

Abstract

This study combines input variables and natural influences to measure fishing yields as productivity. The research was conducted in the central area of the Mahakam River watershed. The purpose of this study is to calculate the income of fishermen at each level of tidal levels and to analyse what factors that affect fisheries productivity. The research uses a mixed method analysis. The data used are primary data obtained by using a structured interview technique through a questionnaire to fishermen who live in the research location, the sampling technique of respondents using the purposive sampling technique. Data were analysed using profit analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. The results of the data analysis show that the highest profit for fishermen is when the conditions of the highest tide go to the lowest tide. Significantly, the fishermen's catch is influenced by two factors, namely the fishing location and their experiences.
