Abstract

Consumers are holders of important information in the management and planning of business development. The purpose of the study is to analyze consumer attitudes towards various processed milkfish and analyze the performance of product attributes of various processed milkfish in Glagah District, Lamongan Regency. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis, Fishbein attitude model and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the respondent's assessment of the processed otak-otak and smoked milkfish stated a neutral attitude, and the respondent's assessment of the shredded milkfish and crackers stated a positive attitude. The performance attributes of various processed milkfish included in quadrant I measure the processed otak-otak and the processed abon. Attributes included in quadrant II are taste and price for processed otak-otak, smoked, and crackers, while shredded milkfish only have tasted attributes. Attributes included in quadrant III are product packaging and ease of access for all kinds of milkfish preparations. Attributes included in quadrant IV are the size of the product for shredded and milkfish crackers. It does recommend that producers of otak-otak and smoked milkfish improve their products to get a positive attitude from customers.

Abstract

Ciletuh Bay has a natural magnificence that attracts local and foreign tourists. Tourist interest was reflected by the many visits demanding the government manage it properly to achieve social, economic, and ecological sustainability. Research on the assessment of cultural ecosystem services in Ciletuh Bay has not been carried out. At the same time, this is necessary for policymakers to maintain sustainable Ciletuh Bay coastal ecotourism. This study aims to estimate the value of cultural ecosystem services in Ciletuh Bay in two ways. The first method is assessing the balance of supply and demand for cultural ecosystem services that adopt the Burkhard Model, namely through individual preferences for the beauty of several types of landscapes in Ciletuh Bay. The second assessment is an economic valuation using the travel cost method (TCM). The results showed that the balance of supply and demand for cultural ecosystem services in Ciletuh Bay contained several types of landscapes in unstable conditions. The economic value of Ciletuh Bay coastal ecotourism is IDR 862,640,124,311.00/year or IDR 77,911,861.00/ha/year.

Abstract

Tuna capture fisheries have a very important value and meaning for the socio-economic life of coastal communities, either directly or indirectly. On the other hand, the catch of tuna has decreased from an ecological aspect based on the exploited status, production, and the value of CpUE (Cath per Unit Effort), the length of the fish caught, and the amount. The research objective was to analyze the sustainability status of tuna fisheries from 3 dimensions. This study was a survey of 76 respondents in the Sendang Biru Malang districts. The method used the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis using the software Rapfish (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries). The results showed that the sustainability status to be seen from 3 dimensions, ecology, economic, and social, which showed that the level of sustainability of tuna fishery from the economic and social dimensions was enough sustainable. For the ecological dimensions, it shows less sustainability. In general, the level of sustainability of tuna fishery in the Sendang Biru is enough sustainable. There need activities related to environmental conservation to increase ecological sustainability. In addition, it is necessary to hold counseling and training on aquatic ecosystems so that they are utilized in the short term and in the long term.

Abstract

In general, the marketing of fishery products is potentially inefficient. This study aims to analyze the structure, conduct, and performance of the Lemuru fish market in Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. The method used to analyze the data obtained at the research site is descriptive qualitative quantitative. The results showed that the structure of the Lemuru fish market formed a tight oligopoly market and concentrated on fish collectors. The CR4 value is 90% for collectors, 30% for retailers, and 18% for fishers. The shape of the market structure affects market conduct where traders are in the price-makers position while fishers are price-takers. The form of vertical business integration in the Lemuru fish market is a cooperation between collectors and retailers to increase profits and dominate the market. The causal relationship between market structure and market conduct forms an efficient market performance with share values in both marketing channels exceeding the standard efficiency values set at 47.37% in channel I and 52.94% in channel II. The results of this study indicate the importance of the role of local governments in carrying out fish auctions according to their functions, providing counseling on fishery capital loan programs, and processing added value to fishers. In addition, this research is also helpful for fishers related to loans for fishing businesses, prices, market needs, and added value of Lemuru fish.

Abstract

The low income of fishermen makes it difficult to fulfill basic household food needs and non-food basic needs. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of energy adequacy and the level of protein adequacy and identify the factors that affect the food security of fishermen's households. The first analysis was carried out descriptively by combining food expenditure and energy consumption indicators. The second analysis uses a logit model regression analysis. The analysis results show that the food security condition of fishermen's households is at the food shortage level of 43.34%. Fisherman households in the food insecurity criteria are 10%, and food security is 23.33%. It means that more than 60% of fishermen's household income is spent on food consumption. The low income received has resulted in fisherman households being unable to allocate food expenditures to meet the nutritional adequacy of their household. The factors that influence the food security of fishermen's households are the size of the household members, household expenditures, and the nutritional knowledge of housewives. Local governments should coordinate with other institutions to formulate policies and plans for economic development in coastal areas.

Abstract

Development in the infrastructure sector provides positive benefits for the community, including economic benefits. Youtefa Bridge is one of the infrastructures built on Youtefa Bay, Jayapura City, connecting Hamadi Village and Holtekamp Village. The existence of the Youtefa Bridge causes an enhancement of the community’s economy, especially in Holtekamp Beach. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the community’s economy in Holtekamp Beach after developing the Youtefa Bridge. The method used in this research is the quantitative method, with the sampling methods being observation and interview. The results showed a significant economic increase in Holtekamp Beach, marked by an increase in people's income by 50 – 70% after the development of the Youtefa Bridge. It can be concluded that Youtefa Bridge’s development can improve the community’s economy in Holtekamp Beach, Jayapura City. It is suggested that there is good cooperation between the regional government and beach managers in developing the tourism sector at Holtekamp Beach so that visitors will increase and the community's economy will also increase.

Abstract

Mangroves have various functions and roles, both economic and ecological. In Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency, the function and role of mangroves are economically and ecologically beneficial, but their value has not been measured. This study aims to determine the valuation of direct benefits of mangroves in Jerowaru District, East Lombok Regency. The approach taken in determining the economic value of mangrove products and services is financial analysis and economic analysis. In financial analysis, a direct approach is used, namely by using market values for marketed commodities and determining the value of substitutes for goods and services that are not marketed. While in the economic analysis, the shadow price or accounting price, namely the value adjusted in such a way as to describe the true value of mangrove goods and services. The results showed that the value of the direct benefit of mangroves in the study area was ± IDR 88.162.750/ha/year. Valuation of the value of direct benefits of mangroves at the location comes from mangrove products and services in the form of firewood and charcoal products, construction wood, capture fisheries products, fish and shrimp larvae stocks, wildlife, preservatives and dyes, food ingredients, and medicines, animal feed, salt, recreation, and tourism, as well as education and research.

Abstract

In response to the Covid -19 pandemic imposed by the Indonesian government has impacted supply chains of various important commodities, including fish products. Lockdowns and mobility restrictions forced market players to limit their activities, change strategies or even close their businesses. This research, conducted in June 2020 - February 2021 in West Java Province, aimed to analyze patterns of adaptation taken by business players of the fisheries industry in facing the pandemic. The research methodological approach was the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) framework, which relied on data collected from 80 respondents proportionally representing impacted groups of fisheries business players in the West Java Province. The results showed that fisheries business players and the government had exercised some supply chain innovative adaptations, some of which can be considered potential adaptation strategies that will improve resilience and ensure the industry’s sustainability when similar pandemic crises occur in the future. These are (i) ensuring access to domestic and international supply chains, (ii) connecting fishery production centers with processors to reduce damage to fresh fish, (iii) creating added value using optimizing existing temporary fish storages, and (iv) promoting and delivering products through digital platform or e-commerce. Keywords:

Abstract

The development of the marine tourism sector in conservation areas creates a dilemma in its management. When economic interests are prioritized, it will have a negative impact on ecological aspects, so it is necessary to have a balance between environmental conservation activities and tourist activities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a sustainable tourist allocation management model in conservation areas and the optimal economic value of each dive tourism site. The results of the analysis of the carrying capacity of the area per dive location point are then analyzed using dynamic models to predict the growth in tourism demand and supply, so that the economic value of each dive tourism site can be known. The results of the analysis show that not all conservation areas are suitable for diving tourism sites and appropriate locations have varying carrying capacities, depending on the area of the area. The number of offers from each dive tourism location some are more than the capacity and some are still below the capacity, so that in order to achieve sustainable diving tourism management, the allocation of requests is carried out proportionally and does not exceed the level of the area's carrying capacity (supply).

Abstract

 Taman Kili-Kili Beach is designated as an Essential Ecosystem Area (KEE). 188/39/KPTS/013/2020. According to the Supervisory Community Group (Pokmaswas), in 2011-2020, there was an increase in broodstock as many as 52 turtles, and the eggs saved as many as 3323 eggs. However, since 2013 Pokmaswas data shows a decrease in the population of hawksbill and green turtles in turtle conservation areas, which is thought to be caused by climate change, global warming, and animals. This study aims to analyze environmental baselines, turtle populations, and the value of turtle ecotourism (ecological, economic values) and develop strategies to support turtle conservation at Taman Kili-Kili Beach Trenggalek Regency. The results of the adjustment of nesting habitats and turtle ecotourism, calculation of the Habitat Conformity Index (IKH) of turtle nesting, IKH = 77.77%, which belongs to the category (S1) is very suitable to be used as a conservation area and turtle nesting habitat. While the results of the calculation of the Turtle Ecotourism Conformity Index (IKW), IKW = 84.93%, which is included in the (S1) category, which is very suitable for use a turtle tourism area. The strategy for developing turtle ecotourism is in quadrant II, meaning that it utilizes the strengths possessed in the turtle conservation area by minimizing the threats that it will experience.
