Abstract

Urban sprawl is driven by population growth and need of land. Setioko (2009) and REI of Central Java (2012) says that urban development of Semarang City is sprawling through south and east of Semarang. Tembalang is one distric in Semarang who had the highest landuse changing which many center of activities with positive and negative effect. The aim of this research is to find out how real estate development growth influence the urban sprawl development in Tembalang. The approach of this research using a mixed method with housing growth analysis, housing market analysis, city-shape analysis and urban sprawl analysis. Real estate development for last 5 years affect the development of urban sprawl in Tembalang based on real estate development and people accessibility. Over the last 5 years, real estate development had contributed 0.34% to cover the backlog as many as 29% of the 26,131 houses until 2019. Housing and settlement planning need a grand design to accommodate the synchronization among urban planning, transportation and housing development  in Semarang in order to minimize the sporadic and disorganized development. Keywords: real estate development, urban sprawl

Abstract

Supit Urang Landfill is located in Mulyorejo, District of Sukun, City of Malang. There are scavenging activity by 217 scavengers in Supit Urang Landfill but there has been no related with management’s activity of the scavengers. Without the scavenger’s management there are many violations that disturb the operational tools that interfere with landfill work and also endangering the scavengers. Recommendations of the involvement of scavengers in Supit Urang Landfill were formulated by evaluation of operating system, identification the benefit of scavengers activity and empowerment management‘s recommendation. The evaluation of operating system in Supit Urang Landfill by scoring analysis showed that the operational system is controlled landfill so scavenging activities is a legal activity. Identification contribution of scavenging activity by economic estimation based on cost and benefit showed that the scavengers in supit Urang reduced waste and operational cost by 1.9% and 1.26%. This activity also gave scavengers benefit up to 5.48 much bigger than scavenging cost. Empowerment management were formulated by location for scavengers and recommendation for empowerment’s factors that influence with scavengers in Supit Urang Landfill. Map’s overlay, counting of rits and operational times were used to choose location for scavengers. Locations for scavengers are in limited cultivation zone with a distance of 800 m from the active cell with 7.57 hour of waste travel time per day. Factors that influence the empowerment of scavengers at Supit Urang Landfill are institutional, home range and activity. Keywords: Scavengers, Controlled Landfill , Benefit Cost Ratio

Abstract

This paper reviews the comparison of carbon dioxide emission from settlement land use between urban and peri-urban areas in the region of Gerbangkertosusila, in East Java. This paper is part of the research that addresses the comparison of greenhouse gas emission between urban and peri-urban areas of Gerbangkertosusila, which focused on settlement and agricultural land use. The region of Gerbangkertosusila itself consists of seven regencies/cities, namely Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Sidoarjo, Lamongan, Surabaya and Mojokerto City. The first step is to classify the urban and peri-urban areas in Gerbangkertosusila. Classification of urban and peri-urban areas is determined through location quotient analysis as one of the economic base analysis techniques. The analysis shows that Surabaya City, Mojokerto City and Lamongan Regency are classified as urban, while Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto and Lamongan are classified as peri-urban. The second step is to estimate the production of carbon dioxide emission from settlement land use in urban and peri-urban areas in Gerbangkertosusila. Carbon dioxide emission in urban areas is estimated at 8.35876E+14 TJ or accounts for 23% of emissions in the region Gerbangkertosusila, while carbon dioxide emissions in the peri-urban area is estimated at 2,8341E+15 TJ or approximately 77% of emission production in Gerbangkertosusila. The finding indicates that the contribution of settlements to the carbon dioxide emission in peri-urban area is very high in terms of the use of cooking fuel, whereas the land use of settlements as well as the number of household in peri-urban are much smaller than those in urban area. Keywords: carbon dioxide emissions, fuel consumption, land use, peri-urban, settlements, urban

Abstract

Recently, the importance of ports, which was merely emphazied as storage, has shifted to as a connector to different transportation modes. Thus, it is essential for ports to adapt with a cheap, efficient, and effective transportation system. Efficiency and Effectiveness relate closely with port performance. The study location, the port of Tanjung Perak in Surabaya, is one significant support for the East Java Province’s economy. The aims of the study were to investigate its operational service level, to estimate its operational service level in the future, and to build better comprehension on the determining factors that lead to its operational service level. In this research, the performance evaluation will be measured based upon the General Directorate of Sea Transportation Decree No UM.002/38/18/DJPL-11 about Performance Standard of Port Operational Service (SKPOP). The methods used were correlation regression and IPA (Importance – Performance Analysis). Results showed that the port’s 2013 overall operational service performance has met SKPOP 2011 standards. The port’s waiting time performance was estimated to be over 2 hours in 2016, and raising to over 4.5 hours in 2020. Meanwhile, approach time performance in 2016 was predicted to be more than 7 hours. Moreover, the port’s berth occupancy ratio performance in 2016 was predicted to be above 80 %, shed occupancy ratio performance in 2016 is predicted to have above 70%. Finally, the study found that the determinig factors to Tanjung Perak Port’s operationa service level performance were the number and condition of tug and pilot boats, the availability and number of warehouse/storage yard, loading and unloading facilities, and the condition for road infrastructure. Keywords: IPA, port performance, Tanjung Perak Port, regression.

Abstract

In the current era of regional autonomy, tourism is one of the key sectors of a region’s economy development, as each local government is required to develop and to utilize its natural resources, namely tourism sector, in order to increase its local revenue to improve the welfare of its society. Despite having diverse tourism attraction potentials including historical, cultural, natural, and artificial tourist attractions, the city of Ternate has not developed its potential prevalently. The purpose of this study is therefore to identify potential tourist attraction, to arrange clusters of the potentials based on their common attraction characteristics, and to develop a tourism package formulation strategy in Ternate. The analytical methods used were descriptive analysis on the characteristics of Ternate’s tourism potential, and quantitative analysis including cluster analysis to arrange tourism clusters, travel time analysis, and tour package price calculations. The results showed that the tourism attractions in Ternate could be classified into three different clusters based on their shared values. The first cluster consists of palace of Sultan of Ternate, Sulamadaha Beach, BobaneIci, Legu Gam Festival, and the Festival of Kora-kora. Cluster II includes Oranje Fort, Kalamata Fort, St. Paulo Fort, Tolucco Fort, St W Church, ThianHou Temple King, Resident Bridge, Grave of Sultan Badaruddin II, Batu Angus, Tolire Lake, and Laguna Lake. Finally, Cluster III includes Kastela Fort, Grave of Sultan Babullah, KedatonIci, Kastela Beach, Tabanga Beach, Ake Rica, CengkehAfo, and Gamalama Tracking. Moreover, the study proposed three tour packages: two recreational and cultural package and one cultural and adventural package. Keywords: tour route, tour packages, analysis cluster

Abstract

Environmental transport bajaj become one of the paratransit modes of public transportation that can only be found in the Jakarta area. The purpose of this research is to determine the operational characteristics, measure user satisfaction levels of operating performance, and develop concepts and strategies for improving the work environmental transport bajaj operations in Jakarta. The statistical test used was Test Validity and Reliability Test by using the method of analysis, namely: the operational characteristics of the transport environment bajaj, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), and a SWOT analysis. Operational characteristics of the transport environment bajaj driver aspects namely: the number of passengers in a day 28.15 ≈ 28 people / day, duration of operation more than 10 hours (42%), average speed of 52.9 km / h ≈ 53 km / h, operational distance of 8-10 km (48%), and net income of Rp 126,000-Rp driver 150,000 (38%). Meanwhile, from the user aspects: the frequency of use of 7-8 times / week (37%), the waiting time of 5-10 minutes (54%), distance to the activities of <5 km (53%), travel time 5-10 minutes (43 %), and travel costs Rp 10,000-Rp 15,000 (35%). For Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), the level of user satisfaction on the operational performance of the three-wheeler transport environment is satisfactory with an average value of 73.48% suitability level. SWOT analysis can be seen in the value of the weighting factor of 2.5 and the value of the internal strategy of weighting factor of 2.3 so that the external strategy in Internal External Matrix (IE) included in the strategy of cell 5 is Stability Strategy is the strategy adopted without changing the strategic direction that has been set. Abstract

Population growh affects the increasing needs for food and agricultural land, while the existence of agricultural land is reduced. Efforts to increase agricultural product by using chemical fertilizers and pesticides have negative impact on the environment. Insistence of the fulfillment of economic needs affected to the exploitation of agricultural land that can trigger critical land. Most villagers work as a farmer, which is identical with low level of welfare. Increasing poverty rate among farmers will continue if the critical condition of agricultural land increasingly widespread because farmers will lose their jobs. It will caused socio-economics impacts, namely the broader unemployment, crime, and decreased quality of life. This study aimed to determine critical land level on agricultural land and whether there is influence between socio economic condition with the critical land level. The methods used to measure the critical land level were overlay, scoring, and weighting. The critical level divided into five categories, are very critical, critical, medium critical, potential critical, and uncritical area. The analysis methods used to measure correlation between socio economic with crtical land level was multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the overlay analysis showed that critical land level on samples are Critical 0,957 ha, Medium Critical 10,473 ha, Potential Critical 6,24 ha, and Uncritical 1,247 ha. The result of regression analysis showed that there was significant influence between the socio economic and critical land level. The significant variables on farmer samples are agricultural counseling frequencies, per capita income, and farm product with the model is Y = 179,452 + 18,672X1 + 10,394X4 + 3,278X5. Meanwhile for the landowner samples, the significant variables are per capita income and farm product with the model is Y = 308,342 + 4,729X4 + 2,043X5. Regression results were positif it means, the lower socio economic conditions, the land become more critical. Keywords: critical land level, socio economic, agricultural, regression
