Abstract

This study examines a flood control model by analyzing the area of critical land which is the land that causes flooding to become green land. Indonesia is a country that has 2 seasons, namely the dry season and the rainy season. Padang City, from 2008 - 2020, there were frequent floods. From research on the Arau watershed, there are 8 Arau sub-watersheds experiencing flooding. To reduce flooding, critical land use is converted into green land. Rainfall calculations use rainfall data from 5 stations. Rainfall plans using the Thiessen theory. Discharge plan using a rational formula. From the water discharge will be determined the amount of energy. The energy produced by the discharge of critical land use is 168,960 kwh.

Abstract

Safety and economic factors are the two main consideration in designing a structure. The structural engineer always try to find the optimal structure design with minimum cost that satisfy the safety requirement. This safety requirement can be expressed as structural reliability that associated to a certain failure probability threshold. An integrated Reliability-based Design Optimization (RBDO) framework usually employed to minimize the cost objective function subjected to the failure probability limit. Failure probability mostly computed by using a time-consuming Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method. This study develops two hybrid RBDO framework, SOS-ANN and PSO-ANN, which combine the metaheuristic method, Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with a machine learning method, Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The SOS and PSO method are used to solve the discrete optimization problem. The ANN method is adopted to replace the MCS method in predicting the reliability of every solution using binary classification. A practical RBDO case of steel truss structure is used to demonstrate the performance of both SOS-ANN and PSO-ANN method in finding the optimal structural design. The results show that the SOS-ANN method outperforms the PSO-ANN method in terms of solution quality, computational efficiency and consistency.

Abstract

Fire occurring in the building can cause fatal effects to the strength of building. Therefore, this research aimed at investigating the structural strength and capacity pre-fire, the remaining strength and capacity post-fire, and the structural strength and capacity after adding steel plate reinforcement. The field data involved the building of Tamansari Emerald Surabaya Apartment. The nominal moment of beam was controlled pre-fire and post-fire. The results of research demonstrated that the beam encountering fire would have moment capacity reduction at 300°C, 600°C, and 800°C by consecutively 0,0677%, 2,7569%, and 33,98% of the moment capacity in the normal condition. Furthermore, the reinforcement applied steel plate having the dimension 150×5 mm. Thus, the increasing moment capacity after adding reinforcement gained around 60 – 380 Kn.m.

Abstract

Rock avalanches is one of the problems that is often faced along the Ponorogo - Pacitan road. The research location was at KM 226 which is located at coordinates 111°22'14.39" East Longitude and 08°01'14.73" South Latitude. Semi quantitative analysis was conducted by using Geology Strength Index method, that is based on field identification. The quantitative slope stability analysis was used Rocscience software consisting of Roclab and Rocplane used the Hoek and Brown method. The classification results of  rock mass GSI obtained value of 25 and was dacite rock type. The slope had angle of 75o and  height of 12 meters, safety factor (FK) of 1.065 was obtained which made the slope unstable, so prevention was done by changing the slope angle geometry based on variations of 75 o - 35 o, so that (FK) 35o = 1.52

Abstract

Infrastructure development of roads is one of the program to overcome the problem of high traffic the increasing volume of vehicles .This increase led to its complete destruction that occurs in road aside caused by natural factors, so needs a method to overcome the issues. This study uses the method Bina Marga to analyzed levels of the percentage of road damage and the determination of handling priority scores Benefit Cost Ratio .Based on the results of survey and analysis roads and the results of the value of benefit cost ratio, Jl .SP .Tole Iskandar - Pondok Rajeg has the  highest value of the level damage and the largest value is 1,5. So, it is a priority to be handled first.

Abstract

A disaster is an incident which threatens and disrupts life. This research was purposed to determine the critical slope stability in Bendosari Village, Pujon due to rainwater infiltration. This research was conducted through ground laboratory test to investigate the type and characteristic of the soil, which then followed by testing of the geo-electric and topography to investigate the existing condition and the ground water level on the critical slopes and analyzed safety factor (SF) using SLOPE/ W for slope with rainwater infiltration effect. The analysis results proved that rainwater infiltration in both conditions could reduce the SF (Safety Factor) value. This is because the water content in the soil increased the pore water pressure. In addition, high water content in the soil reduced the soil shear strength

Abstract

Clay soil has a characteristic that is wet, it will be soft and plastic and cohesive. To overcome this problem, clay soil with high plasticity needs stabilization. The stabilization method using additives such as chalk, fly ash and bottom ash can be used as a stabilization material to increase the carrying capacity of high plasticity clay. This study is commended to know the behavior of high plasticity clay which is stabilized with lime, fly ash and bottom ash. Increased crease of the stabilized clay soil is seen from the CBR test. CBR testing is done under curing conditions for 0, 14, and 28 days and soaking for 0 and 4 days. The results showed that the CBR value increased with duration of curing and decreased throughout the duration of immersion. Then the CBR value increases with the addition of lime percentage and each mixture in a mixture variation. The highest CBR value occurred in soil L 5% + MS5 95% with a CBR value of 75.37% under conditions for 28 days of curing and 4 days of immersion. The lowest CBR value occurs in soil L 5% + MS2 95% with a CBR value of 12.85% in conditions without curing and without immersion.

Abstract

A road is a land transportation infrastructure that plays an important role in regional development. Road feasibility assesses through road roughness. The purpose of this study is to assess the condition of road roughness based on the ASTM E 950-94. The technology used is a correlation-method-based Smartphone application called Roadroid. There were several types of data obtained, namely spatial data in the form of maps, visual data in the form of photos and videos, and numerical data in the form of IRI (International Roughness Index) values. Based on numerical data analysis, the indicated IRI values ranged from 2,01 to 2,13. These results represented that the Lombok International Airport Bypass road condition is currently in good and moderate condition.

Abstract

This century waste has become a serious problem faced by every country in the world, the increasing need for plastic contributes to the high level of plastic waste. Facing the problem, the utilization of plastic waste for construction needs is considered to be a solution that gives positive and profitable results. This research aims to utilize plastic waste into fine aggregates based on plastic waste. Substitution of the amount of fine aggregate with plastic waste in the divide into 2 ie 10% and 20% substitution of waste will then be compared with normal mortar as a strong control press mortar. Plastic Waste as a solution of fine aggregate substitution for concrete is able to increase the value of strong press up to 15.78% with waste substitution of 10%, then the higher the amount of substitution makes the strong ability of press is also reduced, substitution of fine aggregate with plastic waste does not eliminate the ability of mortar as construction material.

Abstract

Puger adalah salah satu wilayah di Jember yang merupakan kawasan tepi pantai selatan yang menghasilkan banyak  ikan. Selain dibangun dermaga sebagai pusat pendaratan ikan juga dibangun beberapa infrastruktur pendukung seperti gedung, jalan dan jembatan.  Keberadaan puger dipantai selatan tentunya berdekatan dengan pertemuan lempeng besar dunia yaitu Euroasia dan Australia, dengan demikian dampak yang pasti terjadi adalah gempa bumi akibat pergeseran lempeng. Sehingga, infrastruktur harus dibangun tahan terhadap beban dinamis akibat gempa. Bagian penting pada suatu struktur bangunan adalah pondasi. Pondasi harus didesain tahan terhadap beban gempa. Oleh karena itu, pendalaman terhadap perilaku struktur pondasi akibat beban gempa perlu dikaji. Adapun yang menjadi tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan gambaran bagaimana perilaku pondasi tiang pancang yang dikenai beban  vertikal  dan  selanjutnya mendapatkan beban gempa. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan pengujian dan pengambilan sampel di lokasi melalui uji Standart Penetration Test (SPT) dan uji sampel undisturb di laboratorium. Selanjutnya, melakukan analisa prilaku pondasi tiang pancang akibat beban gempa dengan bantuan software PLAXIS 2D. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan frekwensi getaran gempa yang diberikan akan menaikan deformasi total pondasi tiang.
