Abstract

Background of the study: In the context of healthcare, record keeping management specifically involves the management of patient health records, administrative documents, and other pertinent information related to healthcare delivery Purpose: This study examines the record keeping management at General Hospital, Ikot Abasi, Akwa State of Nigeria. Four (4) specific objectives guided the conduct of the study. Methods: The survey descriptive design with a qualitative approach was used. Interview was used as the method of data collection. The study included a total of 11 participants, consisting of 2 medical doctors, 5 nurses, and 4 record administrators from the General Hospital, Ikot Abasi. Thematic analysis was employed to analyze the data collected from the interviews.  Findings: The study revealed a varying level of understanding among respondents regarding current record-keeping practices, with concerns raised about the accuracy and completeness of documentation. However, the study identified various challenges faced by healthcare professionals and administrators, including inconsistency in documentation practices, inadequate storage facilities, limited access to technology and resources, and compliance issues. Conclusion: The study concluded that the assessment of existing record keeping infrastructure and technology showed a positive impact, particularly with the implementation of EHR systems leading to streamlined processes and reduced reliance on paper-based documentation. The study recommends that health and other related organisations should implement standardized documentation protocols and provide regular training sessions for healthcare professionals to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness in record keeping.

Abstract

Background of the study: In the rapidly developing digital era, the implementation of technology in archival systems has become inevitable. Archive systems are no longer limited to storing physical documents on shelves or filing cabinets, they have evolved into complex and integrated digital systems. Purpose: This research aims to investigate the benefits and disadvantages of implementing technology in archive systems. Method: This research uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify and analyze relevant articles about the implementation of technology in archive systems. This research is limited to articles published in the last five years in the Scopus database. Findings: The findings of this research reveal that the implementation of technology in archive systems provides significant benefits in terms of efficiency and information accessibility. However, it also presents risks and challenges such as high implementation costs, vulnerability to information security breaches, and risk of data loss. Conclusion: Although the implementation of technology in archival systems promises many benefits, organizations must carefully consider the associated risks and challenges. By better understanding the implications of these steps, organizations can make better decisions in their records management.

Abstract

Background of the study: Land registry offices are faced with misplacement and misfiling of records caused by improper practices by registry staff. Purpose: This study examined the influence of socio-demographic characteristics on the extent of land records management practices in land registry offices in district councils in Tanzania. Method: Qualitative and quantitative approaches were used to complete data collection and data analysis. A purposive sampling was used to select 160 land registry staff and 19 key informants. Quantitative data were analyzed by using SPSS version 26, while the qualitative data was analyzed by using content analysis with the aid of ATLAS.ti software. Findings: The findings show that there is a low practice among land registry staff of district councils. Age has a positive influence on LRMP, while career and working experience have a negative influence on LRMP. Conclusion: Adequate consideration should be given to individuals' age, experience, and career to a higher level of practices of land records in land registry offices. Training programs for non-professionals such as surveys, cartographers, and evaluators should be conducted to enhance their skills and competence in LRMP.

Abstract

Background of the study: The use of AI Text Generator (ATG) provides many conveniences for students, especially in accessing information in the form of text to make research proposals as a requirement for completing academic studies in lectures, but on the other hand the use of this technology also has a negative impact if not used wisely. Purpose: To describe the correlation between student information literacy and the utilisation of AI Text Generator in completing academic studies Method: Simple correlation to determine the level or degree of correlation between two variables. Findings: There is a significant correlation between students' information literacy and its five indicators with the utilization of AI Text Generator in completing academic studies. The level of correlation is in the moderate category. The types of AI Text Generator most widely used by students are ChatGPT, Perplexity, and followed by several other types of ATG. The reasons students use ATGs include developing ideas and information, efficiency, writing assistance, concept development, reference, problem solving, and improving the quality of writing. Conclusion: The existence of a correlation with a level of correlation strength that is in the moderate category indicates that these two variables influence each other but are not completely dependent on each other.

Abstract

Background of the study: The low level of digital literacy among Indonesians poses a significant challenge in the era of global digitization, particularly due to the lack of access to and understanding of information technology required to make effective use of digital libraries. Purpose: Identify factors causing low digital literacy, evaluate policies that have been implemented, and formulate effective strategies to increase digital library utilization in Indonesia. Method: This study uses a qualitative approach by analyzing online news using the keyword ‘digital literacy’, to explore the factors that lead to low digital literacy in Indonesia. Data analysis methods included coding, theme building, data reduction, and data display to identify patterns and reasons behind this phenomenon. Findings: This research reveals that Indonesia's low digital literacy is caused by a lack of infrastructure, a lack of educational focus, and low awareness of social media ethics. Collaboration between the government, academic institutions, and society is needed through technology investment, education reform, and awareness campaigns. Conclusion: Recommended follow-up includes training, digital infrastructure development, and effective awareness campaigns to improve digital literacy in Indonesia.
