Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe Mycalesis perseus Fabricius, 1775 and learn  its habitat in Mt. Tompotika, Sulawesi. This research was conducted in February-March 2019. The butterflies was collected by using purposive sampling method with sweeping techniques using insect net along the hiking trails. The character of M. perseus is explained by the head, thorax, abdomen and wings. Mycalesis perseus characterized by ocellion the wing which borders with the white line on the postdiscal forewing and hindwing sections. Mycalesis perseus was found in secondary forest habitats and cashew gardens at an altitude of 100-200 meters above sea level.

Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of the PGR 2.4-D (Dichlorophenoxy Acetid Acid) in various concentrations on induceing callus of Dombu potato (Solanum tuberosum L.). This research was performed based on Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 6 treatments and 3 times repetation, so there were 18 experiment units. Each experiment used 3 explants so as there were 54 explants. The combination of concentration of the tested PGR in the culture media were T1 = MS0+ 2.4-D 0 ppm (control), T2 = MS0+ 2.4-D 0.5 ppm, T3 = MS0+ 2.4-D 1 ppm, T4= MS0+ 2.4-D 1.5 ppm, T5 = MS0+ 2.4-D 2 ppm and T6 = MS0+ 2.4-D 2.5 ppm. The results showed that callus induction was appeared in the concentration of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 ppm. Callus was generally formed on the Day-8 after plantation. Callus color was mostly greenish transparent, callus texture was mostly crumb type, and callus formation percentage was almost 100%. The best media for inducing the callus was in treatment T4 (1.5 ppm 2.4-D), it referred to the formed callus biomass

Abstract

Health workers is any person who dedicates theirself in the health sector and have knowledge, skills and authority to make health efforts. The lack number of health workers or the univen distribution of health workers is a problem that often occurs in each region. This research will use the method  of multidimensional scaling in mapping districts / cities in Central Sulawesi Province based on indicators of health workers. The results obtained are formed in to 4 groups of districts/cities that have similarities among its members but different from other groups. In the group 1 is Palu, Group 2 contained Parigi Moutong districts. In the group 3 consists of Banggai, Poso, Sigi and Toli-Toli Districts. In the group 4 consist of Tojo Una-una, Morowali, Donggala, Morowali Utara, Banggai Laut, Buol, and Banggai Islands. Stress value obtained is 4.354% and the value of R^2 is 99.568%, which indicates that the data used can be mapped properly.

Abstract

The distribution and habitat preference of freshwater shrimps Caridina ensifera Schenkel, 1902 on two inlets of Lake Poso, Central Sulawesi have been studied. Freshwater shrimps samples was collected in two streams, namely the Pomua Palandu Stream and Toinasa Stream. The sampling station on each streams is divided into three locations based on the distance of the stream flow from its mouth at Lake Poso. Sampling is done by purposive sampling method using the tray net tool. The obtained samples were preserved using 96% alcohol and than identification was carried out at the Laboratory of Animal Biosystematic and evolution, Department of Biology, Tadulako University. The results showed that Caridina ensifera was only distributed in the lower reaches of the Pomua Palandu Stream and Toinasa Stream, having habitat preferences between plant roots that dangled into the water with rocky sand and sand substrates and very slow current speeds. According to von Rintelen and Cai (2009) Caridina ensifera is distributed in Lake Poso.

Abstract

Macrobrachium rosenbergii (De Man, 1879) is a freshwater prawn species that have a high economic value because of its relatively large size compared to the other freshwater prawn species. Exploration to find this species in the Maraja River, Toli-Toli, Central Sulawesi was carried out in January 2019. Sample collected using tray net. Two male specimens of M. rosenbergii were found in the river, with maximum size of carapace length reaching 45.94 mm. Macrobrachium rosenbergii has been found in habitats with clay substrate and slow flowing current. This record extended the distribution of M. rosenbergii, whose spread in Sulawesi has been known only in the southern part of the island, such as in Makassar, Bone, Pinrang, Wajo and Luwu. In this paper, the morphological characters and line drawing of some character M. rosenbergii from the Maraja River were provided.
