Abstract

Patient safety incidents type of clinic administration are incidents that occur in the process of patient identification, handover, agreement, informed consent, queuing, referral, admission, discharge of patients from inpatient, transfer of care, division of tasks, response of emergency. Based on patient safety incidents reports of RSU Haji, there were 12 patient safety incidents type of clinic administration (standard 0% or zero accident) during January 2014-June 2016 in inpatient unit. This research aimed to analyze the correlation between nurse’s individual characteristics with patient safety incidents type of clinic administration. This research was an observational descriptive study with cross sectional design. Questionnaires were distributed to 48 nurses that divided into 6 inpatient units. The results of this research showed that the lower the nurse's knowledge about patient safety and patient safety incidents type of clinic administration, the higher the nurse’s work fatigue, the lower the nurse’s motivation toward to the application of patient safety program, the higher the tendency of patient safety incidents type of clinic administration occured in inpatient unit of RSU Haji Surabaya. The conclusion of this research are knowledge, work fatigue, motivation of nurse have a correlation with patient safety incidents type of clinic administration in inpatient unit of RSU Haji Surabaya.  Keywords: patient safety incidents, clinic administration, nurse, hospital

Abstract

ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus is one of disease related to nutrition. Diabetes Mellitusinpatient’s food waste plate is one of the manifestation of noncompliance to the diet program that have been recommended by health workers. This study analyzed the influence of noncompliance inpatients with Diabetes Mellitus diet in dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya based on the theory compliance by Niven. This was analytic observasionalstudy with cross sectional design. This study used32 samples. Data were analyzed using linear regression test. The results showed that 64.7% of respondents who have a good attitude did notcomply to the diet, 85,7% of respondentswho noncompliance to the diet has very good belief. Meanwhile, 50% of respondents who di not understand the instruction from nutritionists belonging to noncompliance. Then 85.7% of respondents felt lack of support from their family classified as noncompliance category. While, 75% of respondents who feel very good quality interaction with nutritionists belonging to noncompliance respondent. While, 66,7% respondents who got enough support from nutritioniststned to comply the diet. The study showed that official support (nutritionists) influence the patient compliance (ρ = 0,000) with a value of B = -6. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe survey about coordination in hospital showed that the coordinaton between units have low score including the lack of communication and problem solving between units. The objectives of this study is to describe coordination in hospital considered by high performance practices that consist of 5 items : selection for cross-functional teamwork, rewards for cross-functional teamwork, cross-functional teamwork conflict resolution, cross-functional meetings, and cross-functional boundary spanner. This research is descriptive study using cross sectional design. Samples or respondents are 16, selected using purposive sampling according to the units which their function and job still related with the medical service in the hospital. The result showed that there are a specific criteria to select their employee. The most responden said that education level is the most important criteria for the selection. There is a reward for the best employee those are trophy and some money given to the best employee and the best group of the months. There is conflict resolution through the meeting with the supervisor and director to discuss their problems. There is functional meeting that is weekly report, and there is boundary spanner to coordinated with the other unit if they have problems. This study conclude that coordination in hospital can complete four items of performance work practice, but aspect cross-functional meetings still not working properly. Therefore, it needs to be repaired because this meeting is important to discuss about development of the medical service in this hospital.Keywords :Coordination, high performance work practices, medical service

Abstract

Turnover can be detrimented to the organization both in terms of cost, resources, and motivation of employees. The purpose is to determine the relationship variables on job satisfaction and commitment with the intention to leave. The method is an observational study with cross-sectional study. Samples from this study are employees Pura Raharja Hospital Surabaya who meet the criteria that respondents who are still within reach of researchers and respondents are willing to fill out a questionnaire study. Samples were calculated using simple random sampling and obtained by 50 respondents and the value of α = 0.05. The results of linear regression showed that the intention to leave the job is job satisfaction, career development job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The value of significance job satisfaction that is equal to 0,004 jobs, job satisfaction significant value that is equal to 0,04, career development and organizational commitment of significant value that is equal to 0.027. The variables that do not affect the intention to leave are a co-worker job satisfaction, job satisfaction wages, job satisfaction supervision and work commitments. The conclusion of this study is Job satisfaction affects the intention to leave and also commitments affect the intention to leave. Keywords: commitment, intention to leave, job satisfaction, turnover

Abstract

RSI Jemursari Surabaya has a queueing system for patients in elective surgical services, but there were some canceled services during the last five months of 2016. Reservation of hospitalization system was implemented to optimize the service, especially for elective surgical cases. This study was conducted to analyze the difference of elective surgical patient’s perception. This is a descriptive-quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach for data collection. Simple random sampling technique was used to determine the sample size. Sample criteria include patients who are 25 to 46 years old and domicile in Surabaya. Data were collected by the questionnaires given to 50 respondents. There were two types of respondents; patients that decided to cancel and not to cancel the service. The statistical test of this study used Sample T-Test with significance value 0.05. The perceptions of waiting time can determine the decision of the patients to take the service. The shorter period of waiting time (≤7 days) would minimize the cancelation probability of elective surgery. This study concluded that there were dissimilarities of patient’s perception in terms of waiting time for elective surgical reservation. Keywords: decision, elective surgery, hospitalize, perceptions, utilization

Abstract

ABSTRACTAntenatal care in last three years at Kecamatan Kejayan did not reach the target, 100% for K1 and 95% for K4. This research aims to analyze the correlation of midwife’s cooperation, motivation, attitude, and performance on antenatal care in non insurance and insurance patients group. This is a quantitative research with cross sectional design. Spearman Correlation and Coeficient Contingency were used in this research to analyze the data. 36 midwifes were interviewed to obtain data.The results show that majority midwifes has cooperation with primary health care. Midwife’s motivation was high and attitude was positive. Midwife’s performance to non insurance and insurance patients was very high. There was moderate correlation (r=0,446) between cooperation (midwife with primary health care) and the performance to non insurance patients. There was very weak correlation (r=0,111) between cooperation (mindwife with doctor) and performance to insurance patients, and weak correlation (r=0,311) to non insurance patients. There was weak correlation (r=0,086) between motivation and performance to insurance patients, whereas correlation to non insurance was moderate (r=0,521). There was strong correlation (r=0,707) between attitude and performance to non insurance patient. The conclusion, attitude has most significant with performance in non insurance patient group. Keywords: antenatal care, attitude, cooperation, motivation, performance

Abstract

Evaluation of training is a systematic process to collect, describe, interpret  and present information about the training. Evaluation Prevention and Control of Infection training aimed to analyze the correlation between trainees satisfaction with learning level of trainees. This study was a quantitative analytical research using cross sectional design. The results were analyzed with descriptive statistics, dependent t test and Spearman Correlation Test. Trainees satisfaction to the training of Prevention and Control of Infection obtained good results with the percentage of 74.2%. Learning level of trainees Prevention and Control of Infection had a different average value of pre test and post test so as to increase the knowledge of trainees. Based on the correlation trainees satisfaction with learning level of trainees it can be concluded that the success of every level Kirkpatrick model evaluation is important because there is a level depth evaluation. Keywords: training evaluation, kirkpatrik model, learning level, trainees satisfaction

Abstract

Service delivery and healthcare have become trends. Pusat Layanan Kesehatan Universitas Airlangga (PLK UNAIR) is in a network with various hospitals and governmental health insurance agencies  for the community. The objective of this study is to describe the flow of the administrative services in the dental unit of PLK UNAIR. This study used a qualitative design through active participation,  interviews, and observations. Results drawn from this study showed that the flow of administrative services at PLK UNAIR was successfully carried based on its objectives through the contribution of its employees. The summary shows the identification of patient flow at PLK UNAIR dental unit results in the high influx of patients which are mostly students. Keywords: administration, patients, services and students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Job satisfaction rate of Rumah Sakit Mata Undaan Surabaya (RSMU)’s employees increasedfrom 76,92% to 78,92% in 2012-2013. Unfortunately, in 2014 this rate decreased to 74,91%. The target set by management is 80%. Therefore, job satisfaction rate of RSMU’s employees has not reached the target. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of leadership, employee involvement, and continuous improvement principle implementationtowards the job satisfaction of RSMU’s employees. This study used observational method with cross sectional design. The data was obtained through questionnaire with simple random sampling involving 90 employees as the sample of the research. The next step is analyzing the data analytically by using logistic regression test univariate (α=0,05) to examine the influence of leadership, employee involvement, and continuous improvement principle implementation towards the employee’s job satisfaction. The test result indicates that there are influences of two principles implementation towards the employee’s job satisfaction. Those principles, on the one hand, are leadership (sig=0,002) and continuous improvement (sig=0,006). On the other hand, the implementation of employee involvement does not affect the job satisfaction.Keywords :Employee job satisfaction, leadership, employee involvement, continuous improvement

Abstract

The average population density of Surabaya is 9.002 people per km2 in 2009. The over population density is potential to occuring problem in health, education, social and economics. To solve that problems, government formed The Empowerment Society and Family Planning(Bapemas dan KB) in Surabaya City. Bapemas dan KB of Surabaya should compute and analyze the performance achievement to attain the optimum performance. This research was  to analyse The Performance Achievement based on Performance Planning Document and Performance Planning Amendment compares with Performance Report to solve the performance of workers. This reaserch is observational descriptive research which is held in Sub Area Family Planning Bapemas dan KB Surabaya. The Observation studied The Performance Planning Document and Performance Planning Amendment that compares to Performance Report. The Indepth Interview was in Administrative unit, Head of the Sub-Division, and Head of Division Prosperous Family and Family Planning “Bapemas dan KB” Surabaya. Data Analysis Method using Assesment of Performance Indicators Target that measured by Performance Measurement Form, Self Assesment, and Budget Realization. Performance achievement result were: Family Planning Founding Program was 61,58%; Contraceptiption Service Provision for Poor Family Program was 97,17%; in Family Planning Infrastructure Program was 200%.                                                                                                                              Keywords:performance, performance report, family planning, program.
