Abstract

This study was designed to know the implementation of discovery-based learning modules to resolve misconceptions. The data were collected on June, 2016. An experimental method with pretest posttest control group design was conducted at MAN Darussalam. The samples were students of class XI IA 1 as the control class and students of class XI IA 3 as the experimental class. The instrument used was a test to measure students’ misconceptions. To analyze the data, the researcher used percentage formula. The results showed that the concept of chemical components of cells decreased by 25%, the concept of the structure and function of cells decreased by 15%, the concept of animal and plant cell organelles decreased by 6% misconceptions and the concept of transport through the membrane increased by 2%. It was concluded that the discovery-based learning modules could solve students’ misconceptions in the cell concepts at MAN Darussalam.

Abstract

A classroom action research about the use of lampic Scheme to improve students’ learning outcomes and activity in learning sciences (IPA) on blood circulatory system concept has been conducted at SMP N 2 Sigli. It contributes to the development of science subjects and serves as a reference for the future research. This research was conducted in two cycles for three months. Students of class VIII-B were selected as the research subject. The data were collected by using test, observation, and questionnaire. The data were collected by measuring students’ learning outcomes from each meeting and also from observing students’ activities. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative to find out the students’ mastery learning, the average score, the highest and the lowest score. To validate the data, they were verified quantitatively by putting them into the list of score. The research was conducted by implementing cycle of four stages: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results showed that there was an improvement in several aspects namely: The improvement of mastery learning in the first lesson was 37.50 %, while the second lesson was 59.37% with the average 43.75%. In the second cycle, the mastery learning of the first lesson was 59.37%, while the second lesson was 87.50% with the average 68.75%. The improvement was found both in students’ learning outcomes and activity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran konvensional dan penggunaan media laboratorium laboratorium virtual pada konsep sistem pernapasan manusia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest-postest control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI semester dua berjumlah 50 orang siswa SMA yaitu 25 orang kelas XI.A dan 25 orang kelas XI.B di SMA Negeri Unggul Sigli Kabupaten Pidie. Pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen dilakukan dengan menggunakan media (software) virtual lab, sedangkan kelas kontrol diterapkan pembelajaran konvensional dan masing-masing kelas digunakan model Pembelajaran Langsung. Efektifitas penerapan Laboratorium virtual terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dianalisis dengan menggunakan tes berupa uraian yang dilakukan dengan uji-t (Independent Samples t-Test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thit. 5,507 > ttab. 2,011. Dengan demikian, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penerapan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media laboratorium virtual terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada konsep sistem pernapasan manusia. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Laboratorium Virtual, dan Sistem Pernapasan Manusia This research aims to determine the differences in critical thinking skills of students who taking conventional learning and virtual labs on the concept of the human breathing system. The method used is an experimental method by design pretest-posttest control group design. The research population is high school students at class XI in the second semester of school time. Two classes with 25 students each were chosen purposively for experiment and control class. The experimental classed was taught by using learning media of virtual laboratory software, while the control class was taught with conventional learning and both classes were applied the Direct Instruction Model. Pretest and posttest on critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of the students in both classes were compared and analyzed by using a test; essay and multiple-choice performed with t-test (Independent Samples t-Test). The results showed that there was significant improvement of critical thinking skills (tcount 5, 507 > ttable 2,011) students that learned through media of virtual laboratory software. Thus, there is a significant difference in the application of virtual laboratory software on students' critical thinking skills on the concept of the human breathing system. Abstract

A study on Butterflies (Rhopalocera) in the BNI forest park Banda Aceh, Tibang village Syiah Kuala subdistrict has been conducted on Mei 2014. The aim of this research was to know the species of butterflies (Rhepalocera) in that space. The data were gathered by using explorative survey method by using purposive sampling technique. They were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative. It was found that there were 18 species of Rhepalocera which were classified into 3 familia ((Nympalidae, Pieridae, dan Papillionidae) in one order. Among all familia found, Pieridae were the most dominant familia (50%) found in the forest with 9 species, while Nympalidae was 33.33% and papillionidae was 16.7%. The species that were cought the most were Dananus chrysippus L and Celastrinaladon sp. There were 16 species of butterflies were found the most in the third observation point, they were 6 species of Nympalidae, 7 species of Pieridae, dan 3 species of Papillionidea.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the ratio inhibition of forest honey Seulawah and Trumon on Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. The research was conducted in July to August 2014 in the Laboratory of Microbiology Academy of Health Analyst (AAK) in Banda Aceh. This research used acompletely randomized factorial designwith treatmentconsisting ofnegative control(NaCl 0,85% was given), positive control(ciprofloxacin antibiotics was given), foresthoneywitha concentrationof 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% with six replications. Data were analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the forest honey Seulawah and Trumon had different inhibition on Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. The inhibition of forest honey Seulawah was higher than the inhibition of forest honey Trumon.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul aplikasi keterampilan metakognitif dalam pembelajaran ekosistem di MAN Rukoh, pada hakekatnya penelitian ini tentang keterampilan metakognitif pada siswa di MAN Rukoh, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan metakognitif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X MAN Rukoh serta untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X MAN Rukoh. Metode yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimental dengan jumlah sampel 23 orang siswa. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa setelah Proses Belajar Mengajar (PBM) 71, rata-rata keterampilan metakognitif siswa adalah 27. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar adalah uji korelasi product moment pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Korelasi antara keterampilan metakognitif dan hasil belajar kognitif diperoleh rhitung = 0.669, sedangkan rtabel = 0,413, dimana r hitung lebih besar dari pada r tabel yang berarti Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolah. Hubungan antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar diperoleh 0,669 yang berarti memiliki hubungan yang cukup diantara kedua variabel tersebut. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Keterampilan metakognitif mempengaruhi hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas X-4 MAN Rukoh, dan ada hubungan positif antara keterampilan metakognitif dengan hasil belajar. Kata Kunci: Aplikasi, Keterampilan Metakognitif dan Pembelajaran Ekosistem The study is entitled the application of metacognitive skills in learning ecosystem in MAN Rukoh. This research has two aims, namelty to determine the effect of metacognitive skills on cognitive learning outcomes of students Class X MAN Rukoh and to investigate the relationship between metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students Class X MAN Rukoh. The method used is pre-experimenta. The samples were 23 students. The average of students’ learning outcomes after Teaching and Learning (PBM) was 71, the average of students metacognitive skills was 27. The product moment correlation was used to analyze the data of the relationship of metacognitive skills to learning outcomes at the significance level of 0.05. The correlation between metacognitive skills and cognitive learning outcomes obtained rcounting = 0.669, while rtable = 0.413, where r-count is higher than the r-table meaning while Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The relationship between metacognitive skills to the learning outcomes obtained 0.669 which means having a sufficient relationship between the two variables. The conclusion of this study is the metacognitive skills affect cognitive achievement grade 4 X-MAN Rukoh, and there is a positive relationship between metacognitive skills to learning outcomes. Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of various soybean varieties on Ultisol soil, especially on Ultisol soils in Kutacane. The study was conducted in Gulo Village, Darul Hasanah District, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province with hilly topography, from May to September 2019 at an altitude of 3200 asl. The study used a Non Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD), with 4 treatment varieties (V) repeated in 4 replications with 63 plants per plot with 7 samples per plot. The plot size  is 3 m x 2 m with 30 x 20 cm spacing. The total number of plants was 1008, while the total number of sample plants was 112 plants. There are 4 soybean varieties: (V1) Anjasmoro, (V2) Dena1, (V3) Deja 1, and  (V4) Detap 1. The parameters observed in this study during vegetative period include plant height at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 week after planting. The plant height were measured from the base of the stem to the highest leaf. The result is that each variety has a different response to the environment so that the growth, flowering period, and harvest period are also different on Ultisol soil especially in District of Southeast Aceh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran (Learning Cycle, Problem Based Learning, dan Konvensional) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi ekosistem di SMPS IT Darul Azhar Aceh Tenggara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 3 kelas, dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini 3 kelas dengan jumlah 112 orang siswa yaitu kelas VII-B sebagai kelas dengan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, kelas VII-C sebagai kelas dengan pembelajaran Learning Cycle, dan kelas VII-A sebagai kelas dengan pembelajaran Konvensional. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 40 soal. Metode penelitian berbentuk kuasi eksperimen dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan anakova dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan adanya pengaruh model pembelajaran (Learning Cycle, Problem Based Learning, dan Konvensional) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi ekosistem di SMPS IT Darul Azhar Aceh Tenggara, dimana yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 0,449 ± 0,104, Problem Based Learning 0,534 ± 0,135, dan Konvensional 0,406 ± 0,100, dengan F = 10,668 dan taraf signifikansinya 0,000 dan taraf signifikansinya = 0,05.

Abstract

Kerusakan lingkungan dapat menimbulkan bencana alam. Bencana tersebut dapat mengakibatkan korban jiwa dan harta benda. Hal ini disebabkan masih rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kesiapsiagaan dan kepedulian akan fenomena alam dan diakibatkannya. Dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan diperlukan model pembelajaran, salah satu quantum teaching dengan permainan ular tangga dan engklek. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui cara model quantum teaching dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi di sekolah dasar negeri 19 Banda Aceh. Tempat penelitian Sekolah Dasar Negeri 19 Banda Aceh pada siswa kelas V (lima) yang berjumlah 17 (tujuh belas). Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus, meliputi tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi, dengan model quantum teaching dengan menggunakan permainan ular tangga dan engklek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa telah mencapai 82,4% pada siklus pertama dan meningkat menjadi 94,1% pada siklus kedua. Kesimpulan adalah model quantum teaching dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi di sekolah dasar negeri 19 Banda Aceh. Hal ini, merupakan upaya mempersiapkan masyarakat melalui siswa sekolah dasar dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi yang mungkin, akan terjadi dan tanpa diduga. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan Kesiapsiagaan Menghadapi Bencana Gempa Bumi, dan Model Quantum Teaching. Environmental damage can lead to disaster. The disaster may result in loss of life and property. This is due to the low of public knowledge on the preparedness and awareness of the natural phenomena and causes. To improve the knowledge of preparedness required learning models, one of it is quantum teaching by using ular tangga (snakes and ladders game) and engklek (hopscotch game). The purpose of this research was to improve the knowledge of preparedness to face the earthquake by using quantum teaching. This study took place at the fifth grade of Elementary School of 19 Banda Aceh. There were seventeen students for the samples. This was an action research that consisted of two cycles covering the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students reached 82.4 % in the first cycle and increased up to 94.1 % in the second cycle. The conclusion was teaching by using quantum models can improve students’ knowledge of preparedness to face the earthquake. This study was one of efforts to prepare the community through elementary school students to face the earthquake that might happen unexpectedly. Abstract

Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Ar-Raniry merupakan salah satu lembaga yang telah mengirimkan mahasiswanya untuk melaksanakan PPL di beberapa sekolah di Banda Aceh, beberapa diantaranya yaitu di sekolah MAN Model, MAN Rukoh, dan MAN 2 Banda Aceh. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut maka dirasa perlu untuk diketahui kompetensi mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan PPL. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi yang dimiliki mahasiswa PPL pada MAN Kota Banda Aceh yang meliputi penguasaan materi ajar, pengelolaan program belajar mengajar, pengelolaan kelas, penggunaan media, penguasaan landasan-landasan pendidikan, pengelolaan interaksi belajar mengajar, dan penilaian prestasi belajar siswa. Untuk memperoleh data maka penulis menggunakan penelitian dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PPL Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Ar-Raniry pada MAN Kota Banda Aceh sebanyak 3 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dari data yang telah dikumpulkan diperoleh gambaran bahwa mahasiswa PPL Prodi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Ar-Raniry pada MAN Kota Banda Aceh masih kurang kompeten dalam hal penguasaan materi ajar, pengelolaan program belajar mengajar, Pengelolaan kelas, dan Pengelolaan interaksi belajar mengajar. Sementara dalam hal penggunaan media mereka sudah dianggap sangat berkompeten. Akan halnya penguasaan landasan-landasan pendidikan serta kemampuan pengevaluasian hasil belajar sudah dikategorikan berkompeten. Kata Kunci: Kompetensi, Mahasiswa PPL dan Pengajaran One of the programs of Biology Education Department of Tarbiyah Faculty of IAIN Ar-Raniry is sending its students to have teaching practice (PPL) at some schools in Banda Aceh, among others are at MAN Model Banda Aceh, MAN Rukoh and MAN 2 Banda Aceh. It is needed to know the competency of its students in doing the teaching practice. This article is aiming at describing the competence of Biology Education Department students in doing teaching practice at several schools in Banda Aceh. The focus competences are in the field of mastering the teaching material, managing the teaching learning process and classroom, using media, mastering pedagogic, managing teaching learning interaction and assessing students’ achievement. To gain the data, the writer did a descriptive method. The subject of this research was 3 students of Biology Education Department from each targeted schools. The data gathered by using observation, interview, and document analysis. The result showed that the students of Biology Education Department who took teaching practice program at three school in Banda Aceh were still have low competency in the area of mastering teaching material and classroom management as well as the management of teaching learning interaction. Meanwhile, in the field of managing the media, they were classified into really competence. The students’ pedagogic mastery and assessment skill was catagorized into competence.
