Abstract

            This research was conducted to produce oleoresin from the cacao bean husk in optimum condition (ratio ethanol/cacao bean husk and timeof extraction) and to utilize it ini food processing as food flavor.  The research was conducted in stages. Stage I was extraction optimalization and production of oleoresin in two treatment, i.e. ethanol/cacao bean husk (v/b) with 8 extents, 5 : 1, 6 : 1, 7 :1, 8 : 1, 9 : 1, 10 : 1, 11 : 1 and 12 : 1 and time of extraction with 4 extents, 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour and 4 hour, using Completely Randomized Design applied to the observation of extract yield and total phenolic; stage II was oleoresin application of cacao bean husk in 5 extents, i.e. 2.5%, 5.0%, 7.5%, 10% and 12.5% using Randomized Block Design applied in the observation of organoleptic test.  The research result show that the ratio of ethanol/cacao bean husk 11 : 1 (v/b) and 2 hour extraction time gave the best extract yield i.e. 1.48% and the best total phenolic 0.58%.  Oleoresin concentration of 10% applied to biscuit gave the best effect compared than oleoresin concentration again.       Key words : Cacao bean husk, extract yield, oleoresin production, optimum condition, and total phenolic.

Abstract

This study aimed to ascertaining the amount of the purchase of raw materials economical seaweed, to find out the total cost of supplies economical raw materials seaweed, the number of safety supplies the raw material of seaweed, and for knowing when done reserving back the raw material of seaweed on industrial risqa mulia in Olaya Village Parigi Moutong Regency. An instrument of the data analysis used in this research is economic order quantity ( eoq ), the total cost of the supply, supplies safety and the point of reserving back. The result showed that the number of economical the purchase of raw materials seaweeds that should be done by industry risqa noble in may-august 2014 each as many as 10.69 kg, 8,63 kg, 8 kg, 5,88 kg.The total cost of supplies economical issued in may-august 2014, each of the Rp.142.291 Rp.141.681 Rp.140.452 and Rp.140.804. Supplies security must always be available in a warehouse on industrial risqa noble as many as 0,5 kg.  Reserving back the point that needs to be done in may-august 2014 when raw materials at the rate of each as many as 0,89 kg, 0,83 kg, 0,79 kg, and 0,71 kg. Key words : The product tortila seaweed, inventory management.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the microenvironment modification techniques suited to Palu Valley shallot variety cultivated at a technical irrigated rice land. The research was located in the village of Maku, District Dolo, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province and conducted during June to November 2013. This research used a split plot design which plastic cover as the main plot consisted of no plastic cover and plastic cover. The subplot was mulch application consisted of no mulch application, black plastic, silver plastic, and rice straw mulch. Each treatment was replicated 3 times. Higher shallot dry weight was found in the application of the rice straw mulch at 20 days after planting and at harvesting time.  The plastic cover produced larger tuber fresh weights of shallots than that with no plastic cover. It also increased the soil water content at day three and four as well as soil temperature at 16:00 to 17:00 p.m. The only significant interaction effect was on soil temperature which was lowest when no plastic cover combined with the black plastic mulch.Key words : Mulch, plastic cover, shallots.

Abstract

This Research intent to know how big coconut farmer income and to know coconut farmer feasibilty at Malonas vilage Kecamatan Dampelas Kabupaten Donggala. The Determination of the location of the Research carried out deliberately with the consideration that the Village Malonas is one of coconut production Center. This Research was funded from April to May. Respondents  in this study is the coconut farmers in the Malonas Village Dampelas Subdistrict Donggala Regency  Sampel teke in observational it by methodics sampel random sampling, total respondents farmer that was taken from by this Research as big as 30 respondents of 110 coconut farmer that is at malonas vilage, it uses income analisis, properness analisis and description analisis. Result average revenue obtained in the coconut farmers as big as Rp.2.007.816/0,63ha/MP or 3.187.002/ha/MP  and ratio analisis  with value R/C as big as 2,45. Its mean Beach Rp 1.000 cost expenditure will get acceptance as big as Rp. 2.450.

Abstract

The aim of this rescend is to determined level of resistance of some local paddy kamba genotypes against tungro disease. The results of reased are used to complete the description of the local paddy genotypes Kamba according to Standard Evaluation System for Rice from IRRI. The study wes conducted in Screen House of Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. The research method refers to the method developed by Plant Research Tungro Station Lanrang sand selebes. Four local paddy genotypes used were Kamba tomado, Kamba kolori, Kamba bulili, Kamba Wuasa, as a compared with rice suscepbtible varieties TN1, and resistant Utri Merah to tungro. Each type of paddy genotipes used are 20 plants, so that ther are 120 population plants. The results showed in the four genotypes tested, the highest incidence rate of disease is Kamba Wuasa (4.8%) the lowest Whereas the Kamba bulili (1.1%). According to criteria of evaluasi system for rice standar , four local paddy genotipes kamba are tester showwed resistence and moderat resistence to agains tungro disiase. With value of disiase index from 1,2 to 4,8. Key words : Paddy local, kamba resilience genotype, standard evaluation system for rice, tungro disease.

Abstract

             Nutrient enrichment and environmental manipulation in this study were aimed to enhance the growth and quality of Gracilaria sp.  Enrichment treatments were  N: P ratio of 10:0 (A), N: P ratio of 10:1 (B), N: P ratio of 5:1 (C) and no nutrient added (D) with stocking density of 800 g per culture media and water depth of 50 cm  in week I-IV. Light manipulation as water depth variation was conducted in week V-VI. Completely randomize design was employed with 6  and 2 replication in week I-IV and week V-VI, respectively.  The results showed no significant effect of treatments on the growth of seaweed (ANOVA, P> 0.05), however DGR maximum indicated by treatment B. The highest water content of the dried Gracilaria <24%, while the average ash content for all treatments <33%. In general, higher agar yields were obtained from non-enriched treatment (D) and treatment with a depth of 80 cm.                         Key words : Disease, enrichment, Gracilaria sp. manipulation, seaweed active extract.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to identify the adaptation of Banggai Yum (Dioscorea spp) "Baku Sombok" in Palu area under the application of technology inputs i.e. integrated soil fertilizer management. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) in which treatments were seven combinations of inorganic fertilizers, organic fertilizers and mulches. Each treatment consisted of 3 groups so that there were 21 experimental units.There was no significant effect on all parameters of growth components, except on plant height at 74 and 102 days after planting (DAT). The effect on production components such as, tuber product (t ha-1), tuber fresh weight (kg), tuber diameter (cm), tuber length (cm), number of tuber, number of plants with bulbs were also not significant. However, it was significant on tuber fresh weight. Different effect appears on the mulch treatment and with no mulch treatments.  It is suggested that the results would be better if the mulch treatment are combined with inorganic and organic fertilizers. Key Words : Anorganic Fertilizers, Organic, Rice Straw Mulch, Ubi Banggai Type "Baku Sombok".

Abstract

Liquid smoke has a strong and pungent distinctive aroma caused by some contributor compounds within the product including phenolic, carbonyl and acid. Adsorption using zeolites in this study aimed to reduce the levels of strong pungent aroma contributor compounds so that the liquid smoke can be accepted by consumers. Zeolite of various pH ie. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 were used as adsorbent liquid smoke. The fraction produced the adsorption was sensory analyzed by 20 panelists selected.  The liquid smoke fraction selected based on the results of sensory testing was further analyzed using GC-MS. Data was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with SPSS software version 16, followed by Duncan range test at 1% level. The results showed that of 25 fractions of coconut shell liquid smoke generated by the zeolite adsorption at pH range of 2 – 6, 14 fractions were qualified for sensory tested while the remaining fractions had strong and pungent aroma. The contributor substances with strong and punge aroma in the liquid smoke found include phenol groups, carbonyl and acid. The adsorption of coconut shell liquid smoke using zeolite effectively reduce strong pungent aroma of the product. It is necessary to evaluate the shelf life of the liquid smoke adsorbed by zeolite.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that affect farmers' choice to switch the cocoa farming to palm farming in the district of Rio Pakava Donggala Regncy. The study was conducted in the District of Rio Pakava Donggala Regency in November 2014 to January 2015. The study used quantitative and qualitative approach with a sample size of 50 respondents, comprised of 25 cocoa farmers and 25 oil palm farmers who switch cocoa farming into farming oil palm. The study, carried out using non-probability sampling method is caused by the amount of each population to be studied is not known exactly, using purposive sampling, the expected criteria for samples obtained completely according to the research conducted, to obtain a representative sample, making the subject of each region is determined by or in proportion to the number of subjects each region.  Based on the analysis using logit models indicate that the variable cost of production of cocoa and income influence the decision of farmers switch of cocoa farming to oil palm farming, while the variable land and labor flow has no effect on the decision of farmers to switch cocoa farming into palm oil farming Key words : Option farmer, switch cocoa farming to palm oil farming.

Abstract

This research aims to test the efficiency by using inputs production and analyse farming income of Bawang Merah Varietas Lembah Palu which managed by farmers in Bulupountu Jaya village. Bawang merah is one of vegetable commodity that has big market ooportunity in agricultural sector. The results by hypothesis testing of input production which are, area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), and labour (X4) simultanly and parsially are influencing positive and highly significant. All variables of inputs production, area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), and labour (X4), there are three inputs production haven’t allocated efficiently. They’re area, seeds, and fertilizer. While labours (X4) has allocated efficiently. So, from all of variables which have analysed, labour is the only one of inputs production that has allocated efficiently. Farming of Bawang Merah Varietas Lembah Palu earns income as Rp. 21.746.480,24/0,34 Ha or Rp. 64.634.792,65/Ha.
