Abstract

This experiment, done at Guntarano Village, North Palu from August to December 2004,  was intended to study the growth and yield responses of shallot crop to the application of animal manure as an organic fertilizer. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomised design with six levels of manure application, each of which was replicated three times. These treatments were without manure and with manure applied at 2 t/ha, 10 t/ha, 15 t/ha, 20 t/ha and 25 t/ha. Results showed that the highest shallot growth and yields were obtained when the manure was applied at 25 t/ha.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pathogenicity (Lethal Concentrate = LC 50 value) of entomopathogenic Steinernema spp. and Heterorhabditis spp. nematodes against caterpillar pests of onion S. exiqua. This study was conducted during October to December 2013,  in the Pests and Plant Diseases Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Tadulako University of Palu. This researchused a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in atwo factorial experiment. The factors were type of nematodes and concentration.  Each treatment was replicated three times, so that there were 24 experimental units. The nematodes used in this study were third in star nematodes. The concentration of the nematodes use dincluding 500 IJ per 4ml water (p1), 750 IJ per 4 ml water (p2), 1000 IJ per 4 ml water (p3)and 1250 IJ per 4 ml water (p4). The results showed that the mortality of S. exiqua larvae increases with rising nematod concentration. Highest mortality found during one day after application (DAA) to 6 DAA was under 1250 IJ (p4) so it is the most effective and efficient concentration to be implemented for controlling S. exiqua larvae. The estimated value of LC 50 using probit analysis is 425.64 IJ ml-1 water with the range of 244.77 to 740.16 IJ ml-1 water, in this case about 425- IJ ml-1 water is required to halve the number of the tested insects within     six days. Key Words : Heterorhabditis spp, pathogenicity. Abstract

The objective of the research was to identify the rate and amount of soil water infiltration under various soil characteristics in the Sungai Allu Bankala Watershed.  Data of the measurement can assist to indicate water requirement for different soil types to achieve certain soil humidity. This water requirement can be given by irrigation or precipitation. The research was done in non irrigated paddy or corn land at the Sungai Allu Bankala Watershed, sub district Bangkala District - Jeneponto , South Sulawesi. The types of  soils tested and replication done as follow : Grey Alluvial (2  replications) ; Litosol (3  replications) ; Red Brown Latosol (3 replications ); and Association of litosol and Red Mediteran (2 replications). So that there are 10 location observed. The measurement of infiltration was done using a double ring infiltrometer with measurement interval of 5-6 hours. The results showed that the constant infiltration was achieved after 4-5 hours. The determination coefficient value at linier and non-liniar curve were > 0.9 indicating that the value was sufficiently accurate. The average of infiltration from the highest to the lowest values were as follows Grey Alluvial>Litosol > Association of Latosol and Litosol > Mediteran – Litosol. The first two soil types had very rapid infiltration rate category, while the last two soil types was moderate. The time to achieve a constant infiltration rate under the non irrigated paddy land planted with paddy/corn was faster than other soil condition.

Abstract

This Research intent to know how big coconut farmer income and to know coconut farmer feasibilty at Malonas vilage Kecamatan Dampelas Kabupaten Donggala. The Determination of the location of the Research carried out deliberately with the consideration that the Village Malonas is one of coconut production Center. This Research was funded from April to May. Respondents  in this study is the coconut farmers in the Malonas Village Dampelas Subdistrict Donggala Regency  Sampel teke in observational it by methodics sampel random sampling, total respondents farmer that was taken from by this Research as big as 30 respondents of 110 coconut farmer that is at malonas vilage, it uses income analisis, properness analisis and description analisis. Result average revenue obtained in the coconut farmers as big as Rp.2.007.816/0,63ha/MP or 3.187.002/ha/MP  and ratio analisis  with value R/C as big as 2,45. Its mean Beach Rp 1.000 cost expenditure will get acceptance as big as Rp. 2.450.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the agriculturalbasis sub-sector, to analyseagricultural specialization sub-sector, to analyseagricultural sub-sector performances, and to determine priorities of agricultural sub-sector development. Data analysis tools used in this research were location quotient (LQ) analysis, growth ratio model (MRP), overlay, shift share Esteban Marquillas (SS-EM), and sectorial typology. The contribution criteria in the LQ analysis show that cropshave become agricultur albasis sub-sector.Based on the growth criteria,the analysis of MRP produces positive growth rate on crops,forestry and logging sub-sectors.  The overlay analysis shows that the food cropshavebecome the agricultural basis sub sector. The analysis of SS-EM indicates that only food crop sub-sector has competitive and specialized advantage in Parigi Moutong district. The sectorial typology analysis suggests that the priority agricultural sub sectors belong to food crops, horticulture, forestry, and fishery whereas the potential sub sectors are plantation and agricultural services.  Livestock is a developing sub sector.   The food crops sub sector is the main priority in the agricultural sector development in Parigi Moutong district because this sub sector contribute largely to the agricultural sector and it has positive growth, specialization and highly competitive in both district and province levels.  It is also the priority sub sector with higher contribution to Central Sulawesi development.Keywords:Agricultural sub-sector, basis sector, contribution, and growth rate.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify the performance of the loan service of the Bank Rakyat Indonesia, seed institution (seed agency and PT. Pertani), and producer and fertilizer distributor (PT. Pusri) in supporting the rice agribusiness input subsystem. The data were analyzed using cross tabulation and performance evaluation based on input, output, outcomes and benefit indicators.The results of the study indicated that the performance of the Bank Rakyat Indonesia, PT. Pertani, and seed agency was categorized as low.  This means that these institutions cannot support the rice agribusiness input subsystem.  Whereas the performance of PT. Pusri was categorized as high, meaning that this institution has succeeded in supporting the rice agribusiness input subsystem in Parigi Moutong district.

Abstract

The research aims to know and give information regarding effect of FSH hormone to estrus phenomena of ewe local Palu. The research use 8 ewe local Palu and 2 local Palu sheep as stud, which is divided into 2 groups, the group with treatment of FSH hormone and the group without treatment of FSH hormone. Qualitative data obtained in this research has been analyzed by using descriptive method. Quantitative data has been statistically analyzed by using T test. The statistics results shows that both sheep groups with treatment of FSH hormone and without treatment of FSH hormone have significant effect (P<0,05) towards estrus period. However, estrus performance of sheep with treatment of FSH hormone is higher than sheep without treatment of FSH hormone.

Abstract

Rice plants ( Oryza sativa L. ) as a staple food to meet the needs of carbohydrates. Kinds of paddy rice cultivation techniques will affect the conditions of growing media and plant growth. Intensification of rice cultivation techniques with intensive maintenance and the provision of nutrient needs of plants wear inorganic fertilizers. Aerobic rice intensification technique controlled by the organic-based irrigation system returns organic matter through organic fertilizer given rice straw able to improve the biological properties of the soil and increase root growth. The study was conducted to test various techniques of rice cultivation and intensification of rice intensification controlled aerobic organic based on the growth and yield of rice plants. Research compiled by Complete randomized block design with a single factor treatment. Kinds of treatment consisted of B1 : intensification of rice cultivation techniques, B2 : Mechanical controlled aerobic cultivation of rice intensification of organic-based with 1 plant/planting hole and B3 : Mechanical controlled aerobic cultivation of rice intensification of organic-based with 2 plants/planting hole. Each treatment was repeated as many as 6replicates. Observation of the growth of plant height, number of leaves and number of tillers. The observation that crop yields per hectare. The results showed that rice cultivation technique had no effect on plant height and number of leaves of the rice plant. Rice cultivation techniques affect the number of tillers and paddy crops. B2 treatment resulted in the highest number of tillers at 7:33 fruit/plant and the highest crop yields 9:06 tons/plant. Key Words : Cultivation of IPAT - BO, Rice, techniques of rice cultivation.

Abstract

An experiment on the use of Carica papaya leaf meal to increase the production and quality of Sentul chicken eggs was carried out in Jelekong village, Baleendah Subdistrict, Bandung District.  Seventy five Sentul Chicken at 36 weeks of age were used. Data were analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design consisted of five treatments including Carica papaya leaf meal of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10%. The result indicated that the use of Carina papaya leaf meal in ration up to 10 percent did not significantly affect egg production, egg weight, Haugh unit value, and shell thickness, but the use of        10 percent Carina papaya leaf meal in ration significantly affected color yolk score.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of poultry manure on nitrogen uptake of cabbage (Brassica oleracea L.)plant grown on Oxic Dystrudpets Lembantongoa. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of sevenrates of poultry manure i.e. Control, 10 t ha-1,  20 t ha-1, 30 t ha-1, 40 t ha-1,50 t ha-1, and60 t ha-1. Eachtreatmentwas replicated3 times, sothere were 21experimental units.If Analysis of variance of data showed a significant effect, then the data was tested further using honestly significant differenceat 5 % (HSD 5%). The results ofthis study indicatedthat the use ofvariousrates ofpoultry manure couldincreaseplant dry weightas shown bya linearequation y = 0.338x + 51.90 with R2 = 0.919, consistent withincreased levels ofNin theplant tissuewiththe linearequation y = 0,035x + 0,022 with R2 = 0,994 andN uptakewiththe equation        y = 0,026x - 0,055 (R2 = 0,985). The highestN uptakewas obtainedin theapplication of60tha-1poultry manure.Key words : Poultry manure, N uptake, Oxic Dystrudepts.
