Abstract

This research was conducted in Bulupontu Dusun Jaya District. Sigi Biromaru, Sigi in January to April 2016. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of shade and mulch on the growth and yield of tomato plants. This research method is set in the design of this study using the draft petak Separated (Split Plot Design) with plots Main wil be attempted is the percentage of shade: N1 = 25% (Light received as much 75 %), N2 = 50 % (Light received as much 50 %), N3= (Light received as much 25 %), kids plot/ sub plot is mulching rice straw is composed of M0= Without mulch, M1= rice straw 1,9 kg/ plot, M2 =rice straw 3,8 kg/  plot, M3= rice straw 5,7 kg/ plot. The results of this study indicate that treatment interaction shade and mulch can give a real effecton plant height, fruit number and fruit weight. Total 78,11 cm high plant, obtained on the interaction of treatment 50% (N2) with mulch 5,7 kg/ plot (M3). While the highest number of fruits per plant fruit 16,55 on the interaction of treatmen 75 % (N3) with mulch 5,7 kg/ plot (M3). And total weight of the fruit per needs plots (kg) which showed the highest niali 1,28 kg on height 2 MST has th highest value on M1 ie 29,12 cm. percentage of shade does not significantly affect the growth and yield    of tomato. Key Words : Shade, Rice straw mulch, Tomato.

Abstract

The research was aimed at analyzing the growth and nutrition value of elephant grass under different cutting interval times. The research was carried out at the experimental garden of BPTP Gowa, Pa Bentengan Village, Bajeng Sub-district, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province from May 2007 to March 2008. The research utilized a random block design, with 4 treatment levels, i.e.: (1) a four-week cutting interval, (2) a six-week cutting interval, (3) an eight-week cutting interval, (4) a ten-week cutting interval. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, so that 12 treatment units were obtained. The research results showed that the four-week cutting interval produced the best growth and production components such as increased plant height (cm day-1), leaf number (leaf day-1), poll number (poll day-1), wet and dried weight (ton ha-1year-1)   The analysis of nutrition value indicated that the 4 week-cutting interval yielded higher water level and crude protein, but lower crude fat and fiber.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the content of purine and changes of melinjo seed quality under different storage temperatures and seed skin of melinjo. This research was conducted for one year in Laboratory of Food Microbiology, Laboratory of Nutrition and Chemistry of Animal Husbandry and Fishery Faculty, and Laboratory of Math and Natural Science Faculty of UNPAD. Two factors were studied using a Completely Randomized design. The first factor was storage temperature consisted of two levels (T1=5ºC and T2= 27ºC) and the second factor was seed skin consisted of two levels (B1 = with skin and B2 = without skin). Each treatment was repeated  five times, so there were 20 treatments in total. The lowest purine substances were found in  the T1B2 treatment with adenine substance ranging from 5.00-5.38 % and guanine 5.11-5.47%.    The changing in quality was more rapid under room temperature storage than under cold storage. Key Words : Melinjo seed, purine, storage temperature.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of fertilizer and mulch on the intensity attack of S. exigua and the yield of Lembah Palu shallot variety. The research was conducted in Bolu Pountu Jaya, Sigi Village, District of Sigi Biromaru, Sigi Regency, from September to November 2013. The study design was a two-factorial randomized pattern with three replicates for each experimental unit. The first factor was various types of mulch consisted of four treatment without mulch (M0), rice straw mulch (M1), cocoa mulch (M2) and plastic mulch (M3). The second factor was different kinds of fertilizers including liquid organic fertilizer (P1), guano fertilizer (P2) and synthetic fertilizer (P3). There is no significant interaction effect between the type of fertilizers and mulch on the intensity of S. exigua and shallot yields. However, the individual effect of the mulches was significant on reducing the intensity of S. exigua attack and increasing the yield of the shallot. The rice straw mulch reduced the attack intensity of S. exigua by 20.83 %, whereas the cacao mulch increased the yield by 47.61 % compared to the control treatment. Keywords : Fertilizer, Lembah Palu shallot, mulch and Spodoptera exigua.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the maximum concentration of L. plantarum inoculums capable of sustaining 100% survival of catfish. The research was conducted by laboratory experiments using a Completely Randomized Design method. The experimental results were examined by Analysis of Variance and an Advanced Duncan’s double test. The inoculums concentrations were 0, 10, 20, 40, and 80 mL/2 L water. Each treatment was repeated three times. The catfish for the experiment was 2 months old, length about 6 cm, and weight about 2 g. Every aquarium in the experiment contained 2 L of water. The testing parameter was the number of fish that can survive    for five days.  Additional experimental data obtained was the water quality (DO, pH, temperature, ammoniac, and nitrate). The experimental results showed that 100% survival of catfish occurred in the inoculums concentrations of 0 (kontrol), 10, and 20 mL. At the inoculums concentrations of both   40 and 80 mL, the catfish survival were greatly reduced to only 8.33 and 0%, respectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan kinerja usahatani, menganalisis perbedaan biaya produksi, jumlah produksi,  penerimaan, dan pendapatan serta menganalisis risiko pendapatan usaha tani baby buncis petani mitra dan non mitra di Kabupaten Semarang. Penelitian dilakukan pada Februari 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei. Metode penentuan jumlah responden pada petani mitra yaitu metode sensus dan metode penentuan jumlah responden petani non mitra yaitu kuota dengan jumlah masing-masing 35 petani. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan pencatatan. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif, uji beda Independent Sample t-Test, dan koefisien variasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah adanya perbedaan secara nyata pada produksi dan pendapatan di petani mitra dan non mitra, serta tidak adanya berbedaan secara nyata pada penerimaan dan biaya usahatani di petani mitra dan non mitra. Koefisien variasi produksi dan pendapatan lebih besar di petani mitra daripada di petani non mitra. Koefisien variasi harga kecil di petani mitra daripada di non mitra.Kata kunci: Buncis Baby, Kemitraan, Pendapatan, dan Resiko Pendapatan.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the characteristics of mango plants based on their leaf morphology and anatomy in Bahomoleo and Bente villages, Central Bungku sub district, Morowali district. Observation on morphological features was implemented in Bahomoleo and Bente village, whereas anatomical observations were made in the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Faculty of  Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Tadulako University.  The study was conducted in March to May 2016. The morphological parameters observed included plant age, plant height, stem diameter, canopy diameter, canopy shape and bar color.  The leaf anatomy variables consisted of stomata size, epidermis size, stomata number, epidermis number, stomatal density and stomatal index.The morphological and anatomical characters observed based on a cluster analysis and were described in a dendogram form. The results of cluster analysis of both villages on the distance of 0.648 resulted in three accessions namely BT1, BT8 and BM9. The highest stomatal index of both villages is the accession BT8 and the lowest accession is the BM9, while the highest stomatal density/mm2is the accession BT8, and the lowest one is the accession BT1 and BM9.  Keywords: Dendogram, Leaf anatomy, Morphology, and Mango.

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to increase the use of arenga starch and to achieve an optimal processing method of instant starch noodle made of arenga starch. In the research, the instant starch noodle was made using porridge methods. The methods of making instant starch noodle porridge including determination of starch/water ratio, duration of cooking, and optimal aging time. The starch/water ratio and duration of cooking was established based on inter-molecule binding freedom level (gelatinization and retro gradation) with a minimal score of 80% according to instant noodle requirement (SNI 01-3551-1994). While, the determination of aging time was based on physicochemical properties of instant starch noodle produced. The physicochemical properties included water content, inter-molecule binding freedom level, and cooking speed, cooking loss, tensile strength, elongation, texture and white level. The results of the research indicated that the best porridge method was done with starch/water ratio of 1:1.5 (v/v), cooking duration of 12 minute, and aging of 60 minute. Physicochemical properties of instant starch noodle porridge using such method resulting in water content of 7.62%, inter molecule binding freedom level of 82.70%, cooking speed of 2.42 minute, cooking loss of 6.15%, tensile strength of 0.018 MPa, elongation of 7.44%, texture of 10.27 N and white level of 76.30%.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the risk of household wetland rice farm production in impenso and non impenso regions in Central Sulawesi Province.  Respondent samples of 250 farmers were randomly chosen.  Data collected through interviews and field note records. The research result showed that coefficient of variance of the rice farm in the impenso region was higher than in the non impenso region suggesting that the risk of the first region was larger than the later.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted in July-November 2013 to study the effect of transparent plastic tunnel and mulch on the growth and production of Lembah Palu shallot variety. The experiment was arranged in Split Plot Design and the combination treatments were replicated thrice. The main plot was transparent plastic tunnel consisted of without transparent plastic tunnel and transparent plastic tunnel of 0.13 mm thick. The sub plot was kinds of mulch included without mulch, paddy straw and black plastic. The Anova was used to determine the effect of treatments, and the honestly significant different at α of 0.05 to examine the differences among the treatments.  The use of transparent plastic tunnel combined with paddy straw mulch increased the diameter of leaf sheet.  Single treatment of transparent plastic tunnel produced higher plant height, total leaf number, total tuber clump-1 and fresh tuber weight ha-1 than without the transparent plastic tunnel.  The application of paddy straw mulch and black plastic mulch resulted in higher number and length of leaf sheet, and weight of fresh tuber clumb-1 of Lembah Palu shallot variety compared to that without the mulch.  Key words : Growth and production, mulch, shallot, and transparent plastic tunnel.
