Abstract

In studying the behaviour of a motor selected to drive industrial equipment, the main problem being faced is to determine whether the characteristic of the motor suits the requirements imposed by the driven unit. Different kinds of machines and mechanisms as well as electrical motor exhibit different characteristics. The aim of this research is to compare the characteristic of induction motor using loop winding and concentric winding. The parametersobserved are current, voltage, power factor, torque and speed. The experiment was  conducted in the laboratory of Electrical Engineering Department of Tadulako University and the result of this study indicated that characteristic of the loop winding induction motor is better than that of  the consentric winding.   Keyword : induction motor,speed, torque, characteristic.

Abstract

Abstract - Energy Management Strategy (EMS) implemented in the fuel cell hybrid propulsion system aims to minimize the fuel consumption needed to provide the required power demand. Various EMS methods have been built to solve the optimization problem in minimizing the fuel consumption. This paper provides a modeling of new alternative approach of EMS method calLED analytical solution which is based on the minimization of the losses in the vehicle propulsion system. This method ensures that the minimization in the propulsion losses matches the minimization in the fuel consumption. Since the minimization is applied to the propulsion losses, this method has shifted the EMS objective to minimize the losses in the fuel cell hybrid propulsion system, still enabling to supply the demanded power for traction. The important advantage of this method is that it enables the real time implementation.Keywords: Energy Management Strategy, analytical solution, Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

Abstract

Abstract - Solar energy is one of the alternative energy sources which can be used as electrical energy. As the effect of earth rotation and revolution, it had not been optimized maximally yet. The rotation of earth causes the sun moves from east to west every day, and the revolution of earth causes the sun move from north to south every year. These phenomenons cause the different intensity of sun light in every earth surface. To optimize the sun light, the design and realization of solar tracker is very important. The solar tracker has to be able to track the position of the sun and move the solar cell to face the sun light. The solar tracker can move in two axis with moving type of rotate and tilt, so  it works optimally every time. This solar tracker is designed by using photo diode as light sensor and servo motor as actuator. The system uses ATMega8535 as control unit which able to process signal from the sensor and resulted Pulse Width Modulation to control servo motor moving. The testing showed this solar tracker capable to raise the average power to 0.676 watt and the eficiency to 36,216%. The error of tracking is 90 at heavy cloud. Abstract

System distribution has used 13 of loads with source of generation from substation. It will be simulated on EDSA Technical 2005 in bad weather that occur in system during one month. Probability of bad weather occurance is 8,33%/year with failure rate almost twice than normal condition, about 2000%. The result shows that weather contributes significant influence for reliability of distribution system although the bad weather happened in short time. Abstract

Supplier selection is multicriteria problem, since for selecting the supplier who will become partner, decision maker must consider many criteria to measure supplier performance. One of the models that is used to measure supplier performance is Supplier Performance Rating used in Kingston-Warren Corporation. The key aspects related to that model are Quality, Cost and Delivery.  One of tools that used by decision maker to select supplier is making a computer system that can interact with decision maker. The system is called Decision Support System (DSS) for supplier selection. The process of supplier selection uses Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model. AHP model conduct supplier selection by making paired matrix comparison from defined criterion. Result of AHP model calculation is in the form of priority value, so that the highest priority value produced by the model is used by decision maker to choose the best candidate supplier. Abstract

Pembangunan pembangkit listrik tenaga air tergantung dari adanya potensi aliran air sungai serta karakteristik Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS). Aliran air sungai tergantung dari adanya hujan yang jatuh dalam daerah tangkapan air dan unsur dalam sistem DAS berupa: geomorfologi DAS, morfometri sistem DAS, kondisi tanah, penggunaan lahan, vegetasi, serta unsur manusia sebagai pengguna air di daerah tersebut. Nilai energi aliran sungai dan ketinggian jatuh air (head) sangat menentukan kapasitas pembangkit energi listrik yang akan dibangun ditempat tersebut. Luasnya wilayah DAS dan sulitnya melakukan pengukuran secara langsung di lapangan, membutuhkan suatu model analisis untuk menduga limpasan dalam wilayah DAS.

Abstract

Electricity is a secondary energy form that is generated, transmitted and distributed for all kinds of purposes. Tadulako University Campus an electricity consumer with considerable power and continue their development rapidly. Because of the construction, the electrical load is also increasing, the medium-voltage network as one of the components of the power system needs to be evaluated in order to serve the load capacity continuously. Electrical power is supplied from distribution transformers to user have voltage loss and power losses. Because the distribution network has resistance, inductance, and capacitance. The energy lost already appeared from the generation system. This study was conducted by analyzing model of the single line diagram with input medium voltage-network Tadulako University campus data in ETAP 7.5.0 application. From the analysis, there were losses in the medium voltage network Tadulako University Campus at 1.358% with 0.39% voltage drop at the existing load. Abstract

One of the technologies that utilizes solar energy in delivering electric energy isphotovoltaic (PV) system. It converts solar energy into electric energy directly which is environmental friendly, non-pollution, not taking fossil fuel and low cost maintenance. Mineral Resources (ESDM) is one of the offices which uses PV system in Palu municipality. However, only 3 AC powered by non battery-PVis used in ESDM. In the future, ESDM have planned to add the capacity of PV system to supply the other AC. The objective of this study was to design PLTS system for supplying other AC and lighting especially in evening. In thiscase, sun panel capacity, battery, BCR, and inventers will be determined. This study also aims giving information about investment cost which is needed by PLTS with battery without battery and PLN. The calculation in this study used data from BMKG Meteorology Station Palu and Mineral Sources (ESDM) office of Central Sulawesi. The results showed that the capacity power for supplying Air Conditioner charge and lighting in evening was 122,54 kWh, where the systemsvoltage was 120 volt. moreover, the number of sun panel was 40 unit with capacity 200 Wp, 15 unit for battery with capacities 24v 1000Ah.Keyword : Photovoltaic design, Battery, BCR, Inverter, Early Investment

Abstract

AbstractHarmonic is one of sinusoidal components, one wave period from whichhaving multiple frequency of its fundamental frequency one, leading toelectrical power quality problems. Harmonic distortion in term of voltageand current ones, generally is due to non linier impedance. Inverter is one ofexample of it. There are some items that will be measured. There are value ofharmonic at source and value of voltage and current harmonic when inverter does not have any load. IEEE Standard of 5191992 as a reference in determining maximum limitation voltage and current harmonics. The result of the tests were showed that voltage harmonic distortion at inverter did not exceed the IEEE 5191992 maximum limitation of 5%. While current harmonic distortion had exceed the maximum limitation of the IEEE 5191992. The highest results were exceeding 56,55 % when inverter does not have any load.Keywords: Voltage, Current, Harmonic Distortion, Inverter.

Abstract

In electrical engineering technology, especially information technology today can be applied to all areas of life. In this rapid technological developments, information technology can be utilized as a means of information for the primary electrical distribution channels in the form of a geographic information system making it easier for users of the system to determine the condition of the electrical distribution channel. This study uses a program that comes with ArcView avenue script programming to implement a geographic information system primary electrical distribution channels in the city of Palu using digital maps. Geographic information system designed and fabricated in this study proved capable of displaying all the information on the primary electrical distribution channels in which the data taken from the PT.
