Abstract

Hydropower plants (PLTA), micro-hydro plants (PLTMH), and pico-hydro plants (PLTPH) in Indonesia use generators with excitation systems to generate fields or magnetic field amplifiers. The use of excitation systems in generators has several drawbacks. In the era of technological development, various types of generators have been developed, one of which is the permanent magnet generator. The Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) has separate excitation from the synchronous generator and is carried out by permanent magnets to generate the magnetic field instead of coils. This research aims to explore the potential of irrigation channels being utilized as PLTPH using permanent magnet generators. The research method used is the experimental method. The experimental research method is a true experimental method where the equipment is tested and examined. Experimentation involves observation under artificial conditions, where these conditions are created and controlled by the researcher. This study shows that the irrigation channel in Porame Village has the potential to be used as a Pico-Hydro Power Plant (PLTPH) to provide electrical energy as an alternative lighting source, especially at night and during power outages from the national electricity grid (PLN). From the measurement and calculation results, the water flow rate at night is 0.3835 m³/s, with the water power being Pair = 1,901 watts. The type of turbine used is a crossflow turbine, utilizing a permanent magnet synchronous generator.

Abstract

The waste problem in Indonesia is a complex and evolving environmental issue, particularly in areas with high population density and economic activity. This study aims to cluster regions affected by waste issues using the Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) algorithm. DBSCAN was chosen for its ability to identify spatial patterns and detect outliers without requiring a predefined number of clusters. The data used includes spatial and non-spatial information related to waste volume and regional characteristics across various provinces in Indonesia. The results show that DBSCAN effectively groups waste-affected areas into several clusters based on data density and spatial proximity. These clusters can serve as a foundation for determining policy priorities for regional and national waste management. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more targeted and data-driven waste management strategies.

Abstract

Weather is information that is very necessary, especially on agricultural land, to support plant growth, productivity, and yield. Weather monitoring currently still uses a manual system, so it requires quite a lot of time and energy. Apart from that, manual monitoring also allows limited types of data that can be measured directly by humans. The weather monitoring system design is based on the parameters used, namely temperature, humidity, wind speed, light intensity, and rain conditions, using the LoRa module, which can be accessed online and offline and in real- time on the website and LCD.The test results show that the system can work well with the parameters used, namely temperature, with an average error value of 1.81% and an accuracy of 98.19%; humidity, with an average error value of 0.675 and an accuracy of 99.325%; and average wind speed. The error value is 1.83% with an accuracy of 98.17%, the average light intensity error value is 2.42% with an accuracy of 97.58%, and the rainy conditions are successful in providing information whether it is raining or not.

Abstract

This research seeks to assess the influence of viscosity and moisture content on the breakdown voltage of canola oil, corn oil, and sunflower seed oil, as well as to evaluate the quality and properties of these oils as potential alternative liquid insulations for transformers. Transformer liquid insulation specifications according to SPLN 50-1982 and IEC 60247:1991 standards include a breakdown voltage of 30 kV/2.5 mm, a maximum moisture content of 30 ppm or 0.003%, and a kinematic viscosity of 40 cSt at 20°C. During the assessment of moisture content and viscosity, two oil conditions are examined: fresh oil and old oil after the breakdown voltage test. The test data indicates that moisture content and viscosity influence breakdown voltage. Specifically, canola oil, with a moisture content of 0.17% and a viscosity of 28 cSt, exhibits a breakdown voltage of 20.5 kV/2.5 mm; corn oil, with a moisture content of 0.11% and a viscosity of 27 cSt, demonstrates a breakdown voltage of 25.3 kV/2.5 mm; sunflower seed oil, with a moisture content of 0.12% and a viscosity of 26 cSt, shows a breakdown voltage of 21.5 kV/2.5 mm. Nevertheless, the test findings indicate that the breakdown voltage fails to comply with the transformer insulating oil requirement.

Abstract

Admission of New Students (PPDB) is one of the crucial stages or processes in the world of education, including at the Kindergarten level. A PPDB process that focuses on effective user experience is very important to maintain the reputation of educational institutions and provide a positive experience to parents of prospective students. The Al Qolam IT Kindergarten PPDB process is still carried out manually or conventionally, so it takes quite a long time for parents to process the registration form and return the registration form to the data processing process by the school operator. Considering these problems, designing the PPDB business process with a focus on user experience using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation), it is hoped that this will create a simpler, more comfortable and intuitive registration experience for parents of prospective students and accuracy in data processing.

Abstract

The temperature in the room is very dependent on the temperature outside the room. If the temperature outside is unstable, the impact will be reflected on the temperature instability in the room. This creates challenges in controlling room temperature that require a level of consistency, such as in a baby incubator machine, oven, or egg hatcher. Thus, a temperature regulation strategy is needed to overcome disturbances arising from external temperature fluctuations. This research proposes a solution through the use of innovative control methods, namely by making conventional PID control and PID Disturbance Observer. The value of the PID constant will use the Differential Evaluation (DE) method. Both will be tested on an incubator system through simulations at MATLAB2014a with performance index criteria in the form of ITAE. Interference will be introduced into the system by magnifying the temperature difference between inside and outside the incubator so that heat transfer occurs which will affect the temperature inside the incubator. The results showed that the ITAE value of the Distubance Observer PID control was 0.035, while the ITAE of conventional PID control was 0.242. This shows that the PID Disturbance Observer control is an effective control in controlling the temperature inside the incubator and maintaining that temperature from outside interference.
