Abstract

This research was aimed at improving students softskill on the topic of social system through cooperative discussion and mindscape learning. This action research was done in two cycles and meant to get data on lecturers and student activity as well as the softskill of 45 PGSD students of University Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The data include their initiatives, integrity, self concept, creativity, critical-thinking ability, commitment, learning motivation. Data was taken through observation and analyzed descriptively to know their learning activities which where categorized from less active to active, while the softskill was categorized from lacking to good. The result showed that lecturers activity which were already good were able to improve the students softskill in the aspect of integrity/ cooperating ability, learning commitment and motivation. The other aspect of students softskill were still in medium level category and needed to be improved. Key words: softskill, cooperative, dan mindscape

Abstract

Understanding the independence proclamation is an abstract thing which most SMP Negeri 2 Polosari student find it difficult to discern. That was the reason behind this classroom action research. The aim was to improve the student understanding of the meaning of independence proclamation for them and to motivate learning. This was done to class VII B, with 34 students. Consisted of four stages (planning, action, observation, and reflection). In the action stage students had to discuss a topic in which photographs of the 64th independence celebration in pemalang was the focus. Data was taken through observation, questionaire and test. The result was that the use of photographs improved students understanding on the meaning of independence proclamation. This was based on the fact that students participation increased from 71,42% in cycle I to 90,47% in cycle II. The result of the questionaire and the observation showed increase in student motivation from 70,35% in cycle I and 79,85% in cycle II. Similiar tendency was also shown the average result of the test which was 66,62 in cycle I and 75,44 in cycle II. This also hapenned to the mastery level which showed increase from 50% in cycle I and 91,18% in cycle II. Key Words: photo’s medium, meaning of the independence proclamation

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the ability to solve mathematics problem through conceptual map learning. The other objective is to know both the constraint and support of this type of learning. The stages include instrumnet development, giving treatment, and administering the test. The analysis of this reasearch was done to give interpretation the ability to solve mathematics problem for both mathematics and wholistic problem solving. The significance test used was that of parametric statistics, namely t-test used to process the result of problem solving test. The finding was that the student’s ability of solving mathematics problem through the useof conceptual map learning improved significantly than that of conventional learning for both aspect of mathematics and wholistic problem solving. Abstract

Improving Student’s Interest in Biology lesson by using contextual teaching and learning (CLT) methods is n action research study which had an aim to improve student’s interest in biology. The indicator of student’s interest covers the student’s diligence in learning process, active in following teaching and learning process, active in doing a task, the facility and the sources of learning. The result of this researched showed that there were an improvement of students learning interest. The percentage result in cycle I was 39.5%, in cycle 2 was 72.67% and in Cycle 3 was 80.92%. The improvement of students learning interests gave a positive effect toward the students achievement. The students learning achievement in cycle 1 I was 39%, in cycle II was 82% and in cycle III was 93%. In conclusion Contextual Teaching and Learning (CLT) can improve the students learning interest in Biology at the Second Grade Students of MTs Negeri Purwokerto. Abstract

This classroom action reasearch was aimed at improving student’s achievement and participation in following the topic of algebraic operation. There were two cycles each which consisted of four stages (palnning, acting, observation, and reflection). The result showed that cooperative learning gradually improved achievement from 70.87 at pre-cycle stage and 78.12 cycle I which then became 86.67 in cycle II. Besides that, student’s participation also improved from 12 students (33.33 %) at pre-cycle stage to 25 969.40 %in cycle I and 33 (83.33 %) in cycle II. Abstract

This research aimed to improve the students’ ability of literature through PAKEM concept in teaching learning process using picture cards to the students of PGSD S1 academic year 2010-2011. The research was the class action research with the research subject of all students of The Elementary School Teacher Education S1 academic year 2010-2011 class D, which consisted of 51 students, 16 male students, and 35 female students. The research process was done in two cycles; each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. Each meeting consisted of 2 lecture-hours (2x50 minutes). To know the first condition, it was conducted the pre-test, and the data of pre-test was used as the basic action of the fist cycle. After delivering the material of poem by applying the concept of PAKEM using the media of picture cards, it was continued by the post-test of the first cycle. The data of post- test I was used as the action of the second cycle, and it was ended by the analysis and the reflection of all cycles. The data collection was done by using test and non-test. Using test was by pre-test and post-test, and non-test was by observation, interview and documentation. The source used to process the data was score or from the quantitative data (the poem- writing score) and qualitative data. The result of the processing data was used to describe the achievement of the action towards the improvement of the students’ literature appreciation through PAKEM concept using the media of picture cards. It could be proven from the result of the research, observation and evaluation. After the action, it was proven that students’ literature appreciation improved in writing poem. In the cycle 1, it was found that 52% of the students were successful and 48% of them were not yet successful with the average point of 72. In the cycle 2, it, it was found that 75% of the students were successful and 20% of them were not yet successful with the average point of 77. Based on this description, it was concluded that the application of PAKEM concept using picture cards could improve the literature appreciation of S1 PGSD students in academic year 2010-2011.
