Abstract

State, Society, and Identity (Study of mandatory hijab regulations at SMP N 3 Genteng) This research seeks to analyze the formation and implementation of regulations regarding the obligation to wear the hijab in one of the First State Schools in Banyuwangi, namely SMP N 3 Genteng, which requires all female students to wear the hijab, applies to both Muslims and non-Muslims as a whole. This study seeks to find out how the community and local government respond to these regulations. This study uses the theory of Bouendaries from Joel S. Migdal and uses the concept of the boundary between the state and society. Then from the results of the author's observations the formation of regulations was made by the school directly without agreement and without the knowledge of the local government or related ministries. The obligatory hijab regulation for all female students was rejected by the students' parents, this was because they were not Muslim. So that research can be supported by the theory of Bouendaries, which states that the state and society have limits on themselves and their respective groups. This regulation is a coercion against the use of the hijab for students who are not Muslim, by the school it is something that violates and has crossed the line for personal problems in society. By using in-depth interviews and observation research methods, it has been answered that these regulations have violated national boundaries within community groups, regarding personal issues, namely freedom to wear the hijab. Keywords: Regulations, Hijab, and Bouendaries.

Abstract

Indonesia and the Philippines had previously been led by authoritarian regimes, but the authoritarian regime in Indonesia ended in 1998 through reform, while the Philippines ended in 1986 after the EDSA I revolution. However, after EDSA I democracy in the Philippines did not go well until EDSA II emerged. . After EDSA II of the Philippines and Indonesia's reforms, the two countries are moving towards a better democracy through elections. Both carried out more democratic elections in 2004- This study aims to compare elections using three comparative indicators, namely the electoral system, party system, and voter political participation. This study uses a comparative analysis method, with data collection through literature review. The results of this study indicate that there are similarities and differences that occur in the two countries. The similarities between the two countries are election management bodies, direct elections, the use of a multiparty system, while the differences are in the voting system, ballot papers, election methods, the number of DPT and the tenure of public officials who are elected through elections. Based on these similarities and differences, it shows that the Philippines has a higher level of democracy than Indonesia.

Abstract

This research try to see the Monkey Forest tourist destination as a source of livelihood for indigenous peoples. Using the commons theory by Elinor Ostrom and the commons concept by Michael Cox, this study looks at the background of traditional institutions that have resources and are managed independently according to customary conditions. This research reveals the steps of the traditional village in protecting the Monkey Forest under the responsibility of the Padangtegal Traditional Village through policies and actors who have the power to mobilize indigenous peoples. Researchers indicated that there was intervention from external parties from the traditional village in the process of developing the Monkey Forest because of the strategic location of the area in the center of Ubud District which is a well-known tourism area in Bali and even worldwide. Efforts to develop the Monkey Forest will be seen historically regarding the participation of the community and traditional institutions in preserving the Monkey Forest so that it becomes one of the best tourist destinations in the Province of Bali. Abstract

Since 2004, Indonesians have been granted the opportunity to directly elect their president and vice president, leading to two rounds of elections to select legislative members, as well as the president. In 2019, the Indonesian government made a significant decision to conduct concurrent general elections for both legislative and presidential. This research adopts qualitative research methods and utilizes literature review as its data collection approach. The findings of this study reveal that the simultaneous holding of the 2019 General Election has yielded diverse impacts, primarily stemming from logistical challenges, duplicated data on the voters list, excessive information overload among the public leading to irrational voting decisions, and unfortunate casualties, including the loss of hundreds of election committee officers' lives. Consequently, it highlights the pressing need for the General Election Commission (KPU) to thoroughly evaluate and address these issues while organizing the 2024 elections simultaneously. Abstract

Village Credit Institutions (LPD) are one of the political and economic products of empowering local communities who are members of indigenous peoples. LPD politics has two uniqueness, namely ownership and decision-making processes. Catur Purusha Artha as a showcase of cultural values can be used as a basis for LPD business activities. Culture or local wisdom Catur Purusha Artha explains four things that are important for LPDs in managing business risk. In accordance with Regional Regulation No. 4 of 2019 concerning Traditional Villages, which has a philosophy of Tri Hita Karana (THK) in life, the LPD itself as a business entity owned by a Traditional Village adopts this philosophy in its operations. Likewise, the Perarem states that LPD does not only operate in the economic or socio-economic sphere, but has another mission, namely to preserve Balinese customs and culture and the environment based on THK teachings so as to produce a holistic form of accountability that is comprehensive in all aspects of life, both physical and non-physical. Based on the existing phenomena, researchers are interested and important in researching sustainable business practices and accountability carried out by LPDs based on THK.

Abstract

The majority of the livelihoods of the people of Berastagi Karo Regency are farming, but some residents of Berastagi work as traders at the Berastagi market center. Farming involves both men and women while working. Women's contributions are needed by farmers, this becomes a mutually beneficial reciprocity. Women's income is needed to fulfill the family's economy because the cost of living and basic expenses have soared so that several supporting factors are needed, such as the contribution of women in earning a living. In the economic field, Berastagi women occupy a strategic role in meeting the economic needs of their families. Many jobs done by men are also done by women in order to fulfill the necessities of life such as farming and trading. If it is associated with the culture of the Karo tribe, a woman is indeed required to work and take responsibility for the family economy and for her children. Working for women is part of the role that must be carried out as a responsibility for the family and a basis for obedience to husbands, because "it has been bought". However, the economic and public roles bestowed upon them by the women of the night have made them realize that the necessities of life are highly dependent on income. Abstract

This study aims to explain about Gerwani's activism for the rights of the people, especially Baliness women in 1956-1965. The end of Soekarno's era democratic regime, also ended the greatness of the left political wing in Indonesia. Communist forces were destroyed down to the grassroots, including Gerwani. Gerwani's contribution to building the nation, especially their participation in struggling for women's rights, has disappeared, and has not been written down in Indonesian's history. To further discuss these activities, the researcher uses theory of Marxist feminism by Lise Vogel, and is supported by the conceptual framework of activism and socialist feminist movements. The research method used is a qualitative research method based on literature study. Abstract

On April 11 2017, while walking home after morning prayers at the mosque, former KPK chairman Novel Baswedan was suddenly doused with acid by two unknown men riding a motorbike. Since then, Novel has undergone a series of treatments to heal his eyes. Since 2017, the police have formed a team containing hundreds of personnel from the police, regional police assisted by the National Police Headquarters. However, the team's independence is in doubt and it is thought that it will not have a significant impact on the development of Novel's case. The management of the joint team is dominated by police officials, from the National Police Chief, General Tito Karnavian, to the Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Police, Brigadier General Wahyu Hadiningrat. According to Burrhus Frederic Skinner, the "stimulus-answer" scheme is too simple for the thinking of the Russian psychologist, Ivan Petrovitsh Pavlov. This thinking is naturally based on an instinctual structure which itself is based on genetic structure, organisms react (reflex) in a unique way to certain stimuli. This understanding of "conditioned reflexes" is a key behaviorist understanding. Then from here the behavior of the individual who sprinkled acid on the former chairman of the KPK, Novel Baswedan, can be determined as a stimulus and the answer to why he carried out this action and what results he wanted to achieve.
