Abstract

This research discusses the Social Safety Net Policy (JPS) in Bali Governor Regulation Number 15 of 2020. The aim of this policy is to distribute social assistance to communities affected by Covid-19 to meet basic living needs such as food availability, education costs and other basic needs. This research uses Merilee S. Grindle's theory which examines policy implementation contextually and contextually. This type of research is qualitative using literature study. Research findings show that the implementation of this policy has been realized quite well, but there are problems such as the realization of social assistance to students is not optimal, their local agricultural products are still not absorbed in the social assistance distributed by the Bali Provincial Government, and problems with inaccurate social assistance data. The success or failure of implementing this policy is influenced by the interests, power, strategy of actors, and the characteristics of government institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Batam City Government's policy in dealing with the threat of imported waste. This problem is interesting to study because Batam City is one of the areas that is quite vulnerable to illegal waste smuggling. This research uses green political theory as an analytical framework in reading the policies formed by the Batam City Government to overcome this threat. The method used is a qualitative-explanatory method using primary and secondary data. The results of this research indicate that the Batam City Government cannot make effective policies in dealing with the threat of imported waste. This can happen because of the lack of authority of local governments in dealing with environmental management matters. Regional governments cannot act beyond the actions of the central government, so regional governments only follow instructions. This resulted in the Batam City Government being slow to respond to this problem. Apart from that, the waste management infrastructure in Batam City is not yet running optimally.

Abstract

Political parties hold significant influence over political ideas in Indonesia. This raises questions about the quality and type of democracy that is aimed for in a party system. By utilizing the NSM approach, it is hoped that it can provide clarity on the fundamental meanings of a political idea in a democratic country. The preparation of this journal was conducted using normative legal research methods with a regulatory-legislation analysis and conceptual approach, as well as a natural semantic metalanguage (NSM) approach. Upon the completion of writing this journal, it was discovered that political ideas using the NSM approach could be explained in various forms such as interests, benefits, inheritance, influence, position, and power.Keywords: Political Ideas, NSM, Political Parties

Abstract

This article stems from the author's interest in seeing how the political behaviour of minority communities in the United States is towards general elections, and how phenomena or issues that arise before the election influence their attitudes. This article also aims to determine the political behaviour of America's racial minority communities in the 2020 United States presidential election and find out the effect of racism on the participation and assessment of the black race in the 2020 United States presidential election. Conducting a literature study as an effort by the author to obtain data and analysis on political behaviour, there are several findings. First, the black community, in this case, the minority race, shows how race and community conditions in the field can influence how a figure is assessed. Second, racial factors can also influence people's participation in voicing their voices in general elections and this will also have a big influence on the final results of the vote count. Abstract

This research tries to explain the military in the context of democracy in Indonesia during the Joko Widodo government period. The revocation of ABRI's dual function is a form of military withdrawal from the realm of practical politics. Even though the military has withdrawn from practical politics, the military still has political power that has quite an influence on politics in Indonesia. This can be seen from the inclusion of several retired military officers in Joko Widodo and Ma'ruf Amin's campaign team in 2019. Apart from that, many retired military officers held political and non-political positions during Joko Widodo's government. In fact, several active military officers hold several positions in civil institutions and state-owned enterprises. This certainly has an impact on the tarnishing of democracy in Indonesia. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with library study data collection methods.

Abstract

Gender has an important position in achieving sustainable development goals. Social construction that places gender as one of the differentiating criteria in the community’s socio-cultural, it makes women have limited space as part of a marginal group in society. The role of women in development aspects, such as in politics is increasingly open. However, women's involvement in the public is always faced with various obstacles. This study aims to examine the socio-cultural perspectives of the East Manggarai community regarding the position of women in development and politics. This research is using qualitative method, with data collection techniques through interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that the role of women in politics and development in East Manggarai is still low. Patriarchal culture also influences the social perspective of the Manggarai people about women in politics. Furthermore, women's involvement in development and politics is strongly influenced by the level of education, socio-cultural perspective, political awareness, and the local environment. However, the study also shows the people of Manggarai have an awareness of the important role of women in politics and development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mencoba menjelaskan mengenai hubungan sipil militer pada masa pemerintahan Joko Widodo. Perdebatan mengenai hubungan sipil militer yang hingga hari ini masih terus bergulir di publik. Dalam masa reformasi ini, hubungan antara sipil dan militer telah berusaha ditempatkan pada posisi yang lebih demokratis. Namun upaya-upaya penempatan perwira aktif sebagai pejabat sipil memicu terjadinya gesekan. Riset ini akan menguraikan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Koleksi data menggunakan kajian terdahulu dan sumber-sumber sekunder lain yang dianggap relevan. Dalam temuannya, riset ini didapatkan hasil bahwa hadirnya militer aktif pada jabatan sipil dapat memicu konflik antara masyarakat sipil dan militer. Abstract

This article explores the dynamic interplay between media, politics, and technology within thecontext of the Stop Asian Hate movement. Fueled by rising discrimination and violence againstAsian communities, this movement has harnessed the power of social media for awareness,challenged harmful media stereotypes, and driven legislative changes at various levels ofgovernment. It underscores the critical role of responsible media representation, politicaldiscourse, and technology-driven activism in the ongoing fight against discrimination and hate.While these elements have amplified the movement's impact, they also present challenges thatdemand collective efforts for a more inclusive society.

Abstract

Women's rights in the dynamics of political power in Bali tend to be placed in a space that is not exponential. In the constellation of regional elections in Bali, the election of women as regional heads is only filled in 2 out of 9 regencies, where one of the women's election occurred in Karangasem Regency. In the 2015 Karangasem regional head election (Pilkada), I Gusti Ayu Mas Sumatri in the candidate pair "Mas-Dipa" was declared the elected Karangasem Regent for the period 2016 - 2021, with 104,560 (41.76%) votes. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive and analytical approach. The literature sources in this research consist of primary and secondary data sources, where primary literature is obtained from journals and research reports, while secondary literature is obtained from magazines, newspapers, and news articles in online media. Based on the data and findings, it is concluded in this study that the modalities are: Economic Capital, Social Capital; and Political Capital owned in the background of I Gusti Ayu Mas Sumatri then supported her to win the triangular constellation of battles in the 2015 Karangasem Regional Election. The modalities owned were able to be utilized well with the application of political strategies during her campaign period, such as: Obtaining Networks/Support; Formulating Campaign Strategies; Escorting Vote Acquisition; Formation of Campaign Teams; and Organizing Campaigns.
