Abstract

Tourism is a sector in Indonesia that has experienced rapid development in the last decade. This sector provides new hope for the emergence of new sources of economic growth when the economy is experiencing a slowdown. This study aims to estimate the income elasticity and expenditure pattern household on tourism in Indonesia. The data used is the publication of the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). To obtain comprehensive estimation results, this study uses the Quadratic Almost Ideal Demand System (QUAIDS) approach which is currently the standard in household demand estimation systems. Four groups of expenditure types were examined: personal goods, household goods, tourism, and transportation. The results showed that the largest household expenditure was transportation followed by personal goods, household goods, and tourism. However, the largest household income elasticity is tourism, followed by household goods, personal goods and transportation. This is because when household income is constant, the household expenditure budget is allocated to transportation, personal goods and household goods more than tourism. Meanwhile, when income increases, households will allocate their budget for tourism, because expenditure on transportation, personal goods, and household goods has reached the point of maximum utility. And then, other finding show that income elasticity is relatively elastic. This suggests that improvements in household income have the potential to increase expenditure on the tourism sector. This has important implications in terms of public policy, as it makes it possible to explore how tourism policy interacts with household expenditure. Thus, the government and related institutions can obtain consideration from income elasticity and expenditure pattern household in making policies in the tourism sector.

Abstract

Firm value reflects how effectively a company manages its assets to attract investors. Amid rising sustainability concerns, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices have become a focal point, as their adoption is expected to bolster firm value. The government has likewise supported this trend by introducing regulations on sustainability. However, many firms still fall short in implementing these practices optimally, sometimes even causing negative environmental and social consequences. Furthermore, robust financial performance must now be accompanied by transparent disclosure of sustainability information. This study investigates the influence of ESG disclosure, profitability, and liquidity on firm value in the sustainability era. Using a quantitative methodology, it analyzes a purposive sample of twelve energy-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the 2021–2023 period. The findings reveal that neither ESG disclosure nor liquidity has a significant influence on firm value, whereas profitability demonstrates a strong positive effect.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the mechanism and assess the impact of the IZI To Success program implemented by the Indonesian Zakat Initiative (IZI) in North Sumatra on the welfare of beneficiaries. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study strategy. Data collection techniques for this research include observation, interviews, and literature review. The data analysis technique in this study consists of three stages: 1) Data reduction (simplification and abstraction of data), 2) Data presentation (organizing information in the form of narrative texts), and 3) Concluding. This study involved six informants from the IZI To Success program, divided into the "lapakberkah" program, catfish farming, and livestock development. The research findings indicate that the IZI To Success program brings welfare to the beneficiaries, as evidenced by the increase in their income after participating in the program. Similarly, the beneficiaries have become more self-reliant in practicing Zakat, Infak, and Sedekah (ZIS). Out of the total of six informants, five of them claimed to have become self-reliant in practicing ZIS both before and after participating in the IZI To Success program, while one informant is still not self-reliant in practicing ZIS.

Abstract

The operations of the Coastal Fishing Port Technical Services Unit (Port-TSU henceforth) in Pasongsongan face several challenges that obstruct port activities. First, the anchorage has become more shallow due to the sedimentation resulting from the Angsono River’s erosion. Second, the limited area of the anchoring pool makes it difficult for fishing boats to anchor. Third, the shipping lanes, just like the anchorage, have become more shallow due to sedimentation from the mouth of the Angsono River. Fourth, the limited loading and unloading docks result in long queues, which not only delay ship activities in the queue but also reduce the quality of catches. Fifth, the damaged roads and drainage systems around the port pose a challenge to the loading and unloading activities. Considering these challenges, this research aims to evaluate Port-TSU facilities in Pasongsongan, understand the causes of Angsono River sedimentation, and formulate development strategies for the Port-TSU. The results show that the condition of Port-TSU facilities is generally adequate according to Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 08 of 2012. However, the rapid erosion of the Angsono watershed caused the shallowing of the anchor pool and shipping lanes. The underlying causes are monoculture farming practices, lack of agroforestry implementation, and the absence of agricultural terracing systems. The development strategy recommendation is to dredge the anchorage and shipping lanes and extend the pier. Other recommendations include implementing watershed management through agroforestry and terracing systems in the Angsono River watershed to minimize erosion and increase loading and unloading capacity by adding a conveyor belt to accelerate processes and reduce ship queues.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an is a way of life for Muslims, if it is abandoned then it will get lost, so it is a must for Muslims to learn and read Al-Qur'an. Children can get the most out of learning how to read the Al-Qur'an properly and correctly. . This study uses a qualitative method with interview techniques where the research conducts questions and answers to several community leaders such as the village head, hamlet head, MDA school head, and Ustadz/ustadzah to collect data. Based on the results of the study, it is explained that the Village Government Program is running well and experiencing developments in each period, this is enough to explain that the role played by the government is very real and sustainable. Supervision continues to be carried out routinely through reports that are made every month. With this, the program can be declared a success and the children's interest in learning to read the Qur'an is increasing and printing the recitations of the Qur'an.

Abstract

This study aims to identify potential economic sectors and analyze their influence on Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in Gresik Regency. The data used are secondary data for the 2015–2024 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical methods employed include Location Quotient (LQ) to determine base sectors, Shift Share analysis (PR, PS, and DS) to analyze sectoral growth and competitiveness, and multiple linear regression to examine the influence of economic sectors on PAD. The results indicate that the base sectors in Gresik Regency include Mining and Quarrying, Manufacturing Industry, Electricity and Gas Supply, and Construction. The Shift Share analysis shows that all sectors have positive Proportional Shift (PS) values; however, several sectors have negative Differential Shift (DS) values, namely Mining and Quarrying (-153.97), Electricity and Gas Supply (-4.70), and Human Health and Social Work Activities (-0.11), indicating low competitiveness in those sectors. The regression analysis results show that simultaneously the independent variables significantly influence PAD with a probability value of 0.000936. Partially, the Mining and Quarrying sector, Manufacturing Industry sector, and Construction sector significantly affect PAD, while the Electricity and Gas Supply sector does not significantly affect PAD. The Adjusted R-squared value of 0.932250 indicates that 93.22% of the variation in PAD can be explained by the variables in the model, showing a strong relationship between economic sectors and PAD.

Abstract

To borrow or lend money is one example of an economic and financial transaction that often involves a contractual agreement. Collateral is an object that the debtor (borrower) gives to the creditor (lender) in exchange for a loan. "Pawned" describes the thing that serves as collateral. A creditor may sell a pawned item to recover a debt in the event that the debtor does not make their loan repayment as agreed upon. Consensus agreements reached under pressure tend to be unjust and hurtful to one side. The concepts of fairness and equilibrium in contracts are violated by this. Consequently, we must investigate the means by which agreements entered into under duress may be rescinded or rectified, as well as the laws that govern the protection of parties in such situations.
