Abstract

Seed durian flour (Durio zibethinus Murr) is the waste from durian fruit wich are potential to becomewater soluble polysaccharides (WSP) source beause it contains gum. Seed durian process to seed durianflour is a method to avoid damaged material. The The research was aimed to obtained optimum extractionabout the yield of crude extract water soluble polysaccharides (WSP) from seed durian flour i.e ratiomaterial and solvent 1:5; 1:10; 1:15, extraction temperature at 30; 40; 50o C, speed sentrifuges spin7000; 10.000; 13.000 rpm; ratio supernatant and ethanol 1:3; 1:4; 1:5, extraction time for 0, 1, and 2 hrs,along with to characterize crude extract water soluble polysaccharides (WSP) from seed durian flour. theresults showed that highest extraction yield was obtained in combination with 1:10 of ratio material andsolvent, 50 °C of extraction temperature,13.000 rpm of speed sentrifuges spin, 1:4 of ratio supernatantand ethanol, and 2 hrs of extraction. It yielded WSP of 3,56%, brigthness (L) of 49,32. This WSP containedwater, ash, fatty, protein, carbohydrate, and total sugar of 13,86%, 12,48%, 1,78%; 19,76%, 65,98 and 61,23% respectively. Keywords: Water soluble polysaccharides, extraction, seed durian flour

Abstract

Solar water heater is a device that heats water using solar collectors as heat sink of radiation heat, which is forwarded to the pipe containing the fluid heat exchanger (heat exchanger). In this study, conducted comparative testing of solar water heating performance between the performance of the water heater that uses liquid water heat exchanger, airgaram 3.5%, and palm oil. Data collection was performed by taking the data every 30 minutes for 3 hours is at 9:00 to 12:00 pm and the test done 3 times on different days with variations in the type of fluid heat exchanger. From the study data taken include temperature liquid heat exchanger in and out the collector, and the water temperature in the tank, which is then carried out data processing to determine the mass flow rate, density of the fluid, temperature differences in the liquid heat exchanger incoming and outgoing collector (AT) , the performance of solar water heaters (q), and processing the data graphically. The results of the research of some kind of liquid water heat exchanger, brine 3.5%, and palm oil showed that liquid palm oil heat exchanger with a heat capacity of 1,866 kJ / kg. K and a boiling point of 175 0C is the greatest performance, the performance of the lowest value owned by the water. This is due to the value of palm oil heat capacity smaller than a heat capacity of water and greater than the capacity of brine 3.5%, but it is also influenced by the boiling point of palm oil is the highest of any other heat exchanger fluid. Key Words: Heat exchanger, heat capacity, performance, collector, boiling point.

Abstract

Solar water heater  is a device  that heats water using  solar collectors as a heat absorber of  solar  radiation  that is  transmitted  to  the pipe containing water  . In  this research, comparative performance  testing of solar water heating to solar collector plate color variations . Variations of color used is black ( black ) no. ( 39 ) with the brand of quick drying formula zuper spray acrylic spray paint , red ( red signal ) no. ( 23 ) with rj LONDON acrylic paint brand epoxy spray paint  , and blue  ( blue  fluorescent  ) no.  ( 1004) with rj LONDON acrylic paint brand spray paint epoxy Data collection was performed by  taking data every 30 minutes  for 3 hours are 9:00 to 12:00 pm at the clock and the test performed 3 times on different days . Data taken from the study include inlet and outlet water temperature collectors , and the temperature of the water in the tank , which is then carried out data processing  to determine  the  flow rate  ,  the density of water  ,  the water  temperature difference in and out collector  ( ÄT  )  ,  the performance of solar water heaters  ( q  )  , and processing  the data graphically . The results of the study of each color plate solar collector plate showed that the color black has the highest absorption compared with red and blue , because the color black has emissivity close to 1 ( objects that are almost black)  is a  transmitter as well as a good heat absorber. Abstract

Critical Path Method is one of the network analysis methods are used to plan , schedule and monitor the project . Network consists of EET, LET, and  float . Critical activities are activities that dont have the free time ( float = 0 ) so there should not be delayed,  because it will affect the completion time  of project This study aims to analyze the critical path of the project of making roll mill sheaths , identify waste and its cause on critical activities , and make network 's proposal to shorten the project completion time. Based on the research results, the highest score of waste iswaiting, this cause has22.43% score.This waste caused by the delay of material coming , waiting for the previous process, a limited quantity of machines and the operators is limited . After analysis using CPM method and create diagrams of network proposal,the result is production of 4 units roll mill which previously lasted 7 days can be shortened to 6 days with a critical path which must get special attention because if there is  delay in process it will affect to the other working processes which led to the delay in completion of the project. Abstract

Use of plastic is rapidly increasing, but in injection molding products common product defects, such cracks, shrinkage, unperfect shape, overtopping plastic material, dimensions of product outside specified tolerance and  forth are caused by several factors. The most important factors are mold design. PT. Prima Sakti is injection molding company that produced products rectangle nail that has defects, especially flash and shrinkage, which would harm company. In this study, the authors make analysis to reduce defects in trectangle nail by polypropylene using moldflow simulation software, by varying placement of  gate and diameter of  cooling in mold. The aims are obtaining parameter settings of cylinder temperature, injection pressure, eficient and optimum cooling for rectangle nail, and also obtaining mold that produce  smallest percentage of defect. The test is conducted by varying temperature cylinder 230˚C, 240˚C, 241,1˚C, and 250˚C, and varying injection pressure of 60 MPa, 69.134 MPa, 98.56 MPa and 128 MPa, which aims to determine ratio of shrinkage and fill time. Result that obtained in this study that for rectangle nail product, the best output obtained in design 2 simulation with cylinder temperature 230˚C, injection pressure 60 Mpa and 98,56 Mpa, that obtain shrinkage ratio 15,68% with fill time 0,38 second.

Abstract

The amount of gas flow speed is a parameter of classification that can affect the quality of results of the classification and structure of the micro. One of the functional use of protective gas to protect the molten metal (weld pool) of elements in atmosfer. The use of high-speed gas flow is used to examine the influence of gas flow to the disabled porosity that occurred in the classification of MIG on aluminum alloy 5083. There are three variations gas flow speed is used to examine the influence of impaired quality of welded porosity that occurred in the classification of MIG. Test results obtained by the largest defect porosity occur at the speed of gas flow 12 liters/minute with a density of 2.2 g / cm ³ and the porosity as much as 46% with the lowest value of pull strength 51.150 MPa. Grants flow speed gas is an increasingly large number of particles of magnesium silicate (mg2si) and will mg2al3 reliability increased material, the content of zirconium (Zr) and some titanium (Ti) role as the resultant refiner details (grain-refiner), increased levels of refinement details with increasing heat input and speed welding. Abstract

This design to make the organic garbage crusher machine which its structure can be made easy and cheap by society, and can be operated simply, moved by diesel engine 20 hp own the ability can can break the permanent organic garbage upon which compost. This activity  divisible in 2 solution framework that is technical solution framework and solution non technical. Technical Approach: approach to society of orchard Damsari by attending method/machine to processes and dissociate the garbage type so that heaping sum up the deductible garbage. Approach of non technical: approach to citizen by guiding and growing to develop the society awareness about its important keep cleaning environmental and sanitasi. From final this activity inferential that: making of organic garbage crusher machine earn the especial problems faced by group society orchard of Damsari town Sempu Banyuwangi. Making of enforceable organic garbage  Machine better as according to time plan which have been determined, Especial problems partner concerning garbage processing with the this machine attendance expected depending to on duty deductible town Sempu hygiene and created  society of self manage garbage. Result from this garbage processing machine in the form  organic garbage upon which compost of the size 2-3 cm and organic garbage process become the compost used by farmer group, so that indirectly can improve the earnings of society of orchard Damsari and permeating new labour. Abstract

In any design done must consider the strength of the staff. The strength that must be considered regarding the dimensions, materials, and stick structure. In the previous elderly rod product design, structural analysis found that by just using the help of software, so that the power structure of the stick product has not yet been fully elderly a top priority. This is because the previous data was found that the maximum load that can be received by elderly stick it is 45 N. It appears that the greatest stress occurs is still under the stress of the material itself permits. The voltage that occurs on the order of 6.47e +006 N/m2 located on the handle of the stick while the minimum stress acting on the order of 1.29e-008 N/m2 pipe located at the upper stalk. So the calculation needs to be done manually to review the results of previous calculations, in order to improve and enhance the strength of the product stick elderly. Finite element method is a numerical method used to solve technical problems and a symptom phisis metematis of which include stress, strain, strength, and vibration analysis. This finite element method to compare between the calculations using CATIA software and using the calculations manually. In this case the finite element method to be used is a 2D finite element method (field) is a triangular element with 3 nodes. Using Finite Element Method, the biggest stress on the element 5 with a large voltage of σx = 2.505 x 104, and the biggest strain on the element 3 with a large strain εx = 0.272. And failure obtained Theory states: Maximum Normal-Stress Theory declared safe. Because it is still within safe limits. Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting pada efisiensi bahan bakar pada kendaraan adalah rolling resistance. Rolling Resistance adalah tahanan terhadap roda yang akan dan telah menggelinding akibat adanya gaya gesekan antara roda dengan permukaan jalannya roda. Ban radial umumnya mempunyai aspek ratio yaitu perbandingan tinggi dan lebar lebih kecil dari ban bias.Ban radial adalah ban yang paling banyak dipakai pada kendaraan penumpang untuk saat ini. Pada penelitian ini akan melakukan analisa tentang pengaruh tekanan udara pada ban tipe radial ply terhadap rolling resistance. Pada penelitian ini digunakan alat standar pengukuran rolling resistance yang ditetapkan oleh International Organization for Standardization (ISO), yaitu ISO 18164: 2005. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui pengaruh tekanan udara (inflation preassure) terhadap rolling resistance pada ban tipe radial ply pada kecepatan 36,7 km/jam. Penelitian ini tekanan udara yang diberikan bervariasi mulai dari 100 kPa, 150 kPa, 200 kPa, 250 kPa, dan 300 kPa dengan pembebanan radial 1kN. Nilai rolling resistance diukur menggunakan alat uji rolling resistance dan untuk mengetahui kecepatan putar menggunakan tachometer. Nilai rata – rata rolling resistance dan lebar tapak terkecil terdapat pada tekanan udara 300 kPa dengan nilai 9,36 N dan 39 mm. Nilai rata – rata rolling resistance dan lebar tapak terbesar terdapat pada tekanan 100 kPa dengan nilai 19,97 N dan 51,5 mm. Tekanan udara (inflation preassure) dapat meningkatkan dan menurunkan nilai rolling resistance, dikarenakan luasan kontak ban terhadap permukaan jalan yang berubah seiring dengan perubahan tekanan udara (inflation preassure) yang diberikan . Abstract

This time the need of transport's mode for the disabled leg is not maximized. To fulfill these need, we need the necessary transportation tools, one of the tools is a bike. However, the existing bike cannot be used for patients with leg disabilities. The purpose of this research is to design an electric bike wake for the disabled leg with movers using hand paddles and electric system. Bikes are made to be able to provide a low risk of injury while driving and can be used on any terrain. This research will be focused on the design and make electric bike frame for the disabled leg with brushless motor drive and battery charging via PLN's electricity. The stages of the research is the first stage of drafting the bike according to the list of needs. The concept design electric bikes are made with size 1270 x 850 x 1226 mm and uses three wheels. For the movers using brushless DC motors 350 Watt / 48 V with battery accu used 12V / 7 Ah combined series of 4 pieces battery and for manual use paddle power hand. The second stage of is the process of making electric bike. The third stage of is the process of testing an electric bike. Tests performed include testing the strength of the frame, tilt test and movers’s test on the bike. From the results of Static test performed that by loading 70 kg on the bike showed the bike suffered no damage and passed the test. In testing of stability with position of the front wheel facing upwards, downwards and sideways with make a tilt angle of 100. The test results revealed bike was not damaged and will not tip so the bike passed the test. For the test movers electric bike, the speed of electric bicycles from testing up to 20Km / h on a straight road for 1 hour and charging time for 3.5 hours using a charge battery 48V / 2A through voltage PLN’s source.
