Abstract

The work of refrigeration system incentral air conditioning should be set to the cooling load to obtain the peak performance of the system with efficient energy consumption. One factor that affect to the the cooling load is the conditioned air flow rate suppliedin the system.The experiment is conducted by varying air flow rate (with 4 variations which is 1,152; 1,184; 1,216 and 1,280 m3/s respectively), to aim the optimum performance of the refrigeration system in the air conditioning system (central AHU) to consumption efficient levelof power. The results is that the refrigeration system performance is not much influenced by variations ofair flow rate,where the highest coefficient of performance (COP) of the refrigeration system (5.69) was obtained by air flow rate (debit) of 1,184 m3/s, about 4% of the COP on the largest debit. The highest compression ratio (3.5) was obtained at lowest air flow rate (1.152 m3/s), and the lowest average of power consumption is obtained at the lowest air flow rate 1.152 m3/s, 9% lower than power consumption at thegreatest air flow.While the performance of the HVAC system is affected by variations in air flow rate, where is the greatest cooling capacity (62.364 kW) and the highest EER (3.99) was obtained at the highest flow rate of 1.280 m3/s. Abstract

Household refrigerating machine (refrigerator) is a household appliance that is widely used in the family in Indonesia. The condenser is one of the essential components of the refrigerator that functions as a heat exchanger which is composed of the equivalent gas-phase refrigerant into a liquid. A crucial element of the condenser to cool the evaporator with the faster is the rate of heat release, coefisien of performance (COP). This research was conducted by varying the experimental cooling medium in the condenser of household refrigerating machine (refrigerator), such as the natural air cooling medium, the addition of fins and additional fan area 14,4 Watt. It aims to improve the coefficient of achievement refrigeration, heat release ratio and cooling rate speed. The results showed a coolant condenser with fan 14.4 W produces the highest COP value, 4,73, and the ratio of the smallest heat release ratio, 1,2. Abstract

Kerupuk getas and kemplang are snacks from Bangka Island made from a mixture of mackerel and corn starch. The snacks are produced by snack food home industry. The production center located in Belinyu and Pangkalpinang City. The main problem of industry is lack of knowledge about the packaging technology and sales strategy. The product packaging is an important part of a sales strategy. In this report, the authors proved statistically that the product packaging can increase revenue. The packaging system by using vacuum packaging machine. Furthermore, sales strategy be developed into an online system.The results show that sales of products with packaging boxes significantly affect gross income partners. Correlation test showed that the value of pearson product moment (r) is 0.862. The value of the Pearson product moment means that there is a very close relationship between the product packaging boxes with gross revenue and P-value is 0.05 so it was concluded that the relationship is significant. Abstract

The increasing of vehicle uses will make the increasing in fuels consumption. In the other hand, the reserves of fossil fuels as a fuel in vehicles are always decreasing. In order to anticipate the lack of fossil fuels, there is some alternatives energy that has to substitute the fossil fuels. One of the alternative energy is HHO Gas. HHO gas is a gas that was produced by the electrolysis of water. Water as an abundant material in earth can be an alternative energy that replace or substitute fossil fuel. In this research, HHO gas will be used as a supplement in fuels. So the vehicles use two fuels (bi-fuel. )The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of uses HHO gas in vehicles. The HHO gas will be produced by different water, such as aquadest, land water, sea water. The performance analysis was focused in the fuel consumption and the efficiency of thermal engine oil. The analysis result shows that the addicted HHO gas can make the efficiency of fuel consumption better. The highest efficiency fuel consumption is in the fuel with HHO gas from aquadest (19.95%). But the best efficiency in thermal engine oil is in HHO gas from sea water (0.84 oC). Keywords: HHO, performance, engine, bifuel

Abstract

Rolling Resistance is a resistance to the wheels that will and have been rolling due to the force of friction between the wheels with the road surface of the wheel. Rolling resistance is influenced by four factors, that is vehicle weight, road surface, transmission, and tires. This study usefull to determine the influence of tread pattern surface to force and coefficient rolling resistance, tire surface contact area and tire pressure value. In this study using motorcycle tires with size 90/90-17. The tire used is a tire with RIB tread pattern (straight groove) and LUG tread pattern (zig-zag groove). Each type of RIB and LUG tread pattern used each of two tires that is the type of simple tread pattern and the complex tread pattern. From the results of the study showed that the tire with a simple tread pattern will produce a small force of rolling resistance but will result in a larger surface tire surface contact than the tire with the complex tread pattenr. While for the tire with the type complex tread pattern has a greater pressure value that will produce a great rolling resistance force. For tires get the best rolling resistance force is the tire with a simple LUG tread pattern of 10.234 N and followed by a tire with a simple RIB tread pattern type of 10.563 N. Abstract

The natural wealth of South Kalimantan is no doubt. abundant from across the border, so many stood mining companies, and housing estates. this resulted in local residents' income increases. Welfare is increased compared to regions or islands. With geographical location filled with hills, forests, plantations and swamps, became an important means of transportation in the mobilization of the results of mining, plantation and trading activities. Therefore, it takes a vehicle in the path of effective special / alternative narrow, winding, uphill and downhill to the extreme. The access road is worth it difficult to pass by the four wheels though. So one solution is a two-wheeled vehicle, the motorcycle. but the problem is security vehicles lately theft rife in both daytime or at night, in the house or outside the house, still theft can be done.Existing security system is not adequate to cope with theft / vehicle crime lately. so that the necessary breakthrough in addressing this problem by installing two sensors at the same time the ping ultrasonic sensor and encoder sensor. with the provisions of the ideal distance and height is obtained from ping ultrasonic sensor 0.4 meters and encoder sensor 4.92 meters. Keywords: ping ultrasonic sensor, encoder, mikrokontroller, lcd

Abstract

Product with quality obtained from existence of good forming process. Ovality one of deviation which is because of process bending. Process bending donewithout and internal  pressure. Internal pressure used: 100, 200, 250 and 300 bar. Equipments used in course of bending consisted of the hydraulic pump, pressure gauge, regulator / valve, T Fitting, Oli SAE 40 and Nivle Pipe ( NPT).For that require to be a research to analyse the hydraulic pressure influence to ovality process of bending of pipe of circular of raw material camp chair. Research done to designed experiment with the diameter tube 16, 19.05 and 25.4 mm. Its result hydraulic pressure yielding ovality minimum is for the D of tube 16 mm equal to 300 bar while for the D of tube 19.05 and 25.4 equal to 250 bar. Keywords: bending process, ovality and hydraulic pressure.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of stir casting factor parameters on  Al-SiC composite porosity using Taguchi method.   Composite materials used aluminum alloy   Al-Si as matrix and SiC particle (silicon carbide) sized -400 mesh as reinforcement.   Al-SiC composites specimen porosity was tested using  Archimedes  principles.  Experimental  design  using  L16  orthogonal  arrays  Taguchi method standard. Factors used  for  the experiment were SiC content, melt  temperature, rotation speed and stirring  time  duration,  each  using  4  variation.  Experimental  results  showed  that  increasing  SiC content parameters and stirring rotation speed from 100 into 300 rpm can increase Al-SiC composite oporosity,  but  increasing melt  temperature  above  700 C  and  stirring  time  from  10-30 minutes  candecrease the porosity. The most significant factor affecting Al-SiC composite porosity was SiC conten with 84,7 % contribution. Abstract

Aerodynamic is a branch of science which study the effect of wind to an object. Transport vehicle (truck) is one of the object in this field. A deflector is use to direct the wind for aerodynamics aspect. The research is conduct in a small scale wind tunnel with 40 cm x 40 cm cross section and 300 cm length. A truck model is varied without deflector, flat deflector, convex deflector and concave delector. The wind speed is varied at 1,9; 2,31 and 3,23 m/s by a fan. U type manometers with 30o inclination are used to measure height difference (Dh) of the water column at 3 pointsabove the deflector. The data are used to count the wind pressure and the wind speed.Aerodynamic performance is described as a capability to maintain the wind speed at measurement points.The research result shows that the deflector has effect due to aerodynamics characteristic of truck model. Convex deflector has the best performance. Flat and concave deflectors are next.   Keywords: aerodynamics, truck, deflector

Abstract

Utilization of composite materials as an alternative to metal materials in the expanding field of engineering. This is because the advantages possessed by Composite materials such as natural fibers into a lighter construction, corrosion resistance, and strength can be designed in accordance with the direction of loading. In this study, the authors make the specimen using coco fiber as a reinforcement of composite and polypropylene as a matrix with the holding time and temperature variations in the injection molding process. The purpose of this study to determine the tensile strength and bending as well as shape analysis and mikroskipis macroscopic fracture that occurs in the specimen by using a camera and microscope test equipment. Variations holding time is 7 seconds, 8 seconds, 9 seconds. Barrel temperature on the injection molding machine used is 180ºC, 190ºC, 200ºC and injection pressure of 7 bar. Of tensile and bending test results it can be concluded that there are significant variations of holding time and temperature on the mechanical properties of the composite strength values ​​were generated. In the holding time and temperature variations, occurring on average values ​​of tensile strength and bending at the highest temperature holding time is 9 seconds 190ºC is 11.42831 N/mm2. and a temperature holding time 8 seconds 180ºC ie 10,584 MPa.
