Abstract

One of the strategic issues in the 2016-2030 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), the 7th (seven) goal is clean and affordable energy. The social engineering approach in the social, environmental dispute management of the affected community is an applied research from the case study of the Pasuruan FSRU development plan, namely building floating LNG storage and supporting facilities and facilities at sea, subsea pipeline construction located in the Madura Strait, in the north of the Regency Pasuruan and Sidoarjo Regency, as well as deploying land pipes in Permisan Village, Tambak Kalisogo, and Kupang, Jabon District-Sidoarjo Regency. This research is a descriptive analysis study, which is carried out with cross-sectional, in the study area. The data used in this study are primary and secondary. The primary data from participants in socialization activities of development plan were 33 respondents in Sidoarjo Regency and as many as 25 fishers respondents in Pasuruan City and Regency. Besides, the primary data from the questionnaire to 101 residents affected by land pipeline deployments and 29 people, fishing communities, joined in the HNSI in Pasuruan Regency and City. Often the development plans are hampered by the implementation, including strategic development plans, such as deploying fuel/oil and gas pipes, refineries, FSRUs, etc. due to the issue of dispute in the social environment. This study aims to support ongoing development activities, to underpin decision-making policies. The results of the study show that the community perception factor is very significant towards the development plan that must be managed. Management of these problems is a social engineering approach at the planning stage in the development process by involving various stakeholders ranging from the central government, local government, related agencies, NGOs, local figures and communities affected by the development

Abstract

Dialogue and co-existence between religious believers have been practiced quite extensively in Indonesia, especially since the New Order era. From the beginning, it did happen top-down because of the government's political strategy to create a peaceful and stable society for the success of physical development. However, in subsequent developments, the importance of changing approaches to dialogue and cooperation between religious believers was considered as an urgent matter. Therefore, the active involvement of citizens and the creation of social spaces for the interaction and encounter of citizens of different religions, ethnicities and cultures have been initiated and practiced by the government in many regions of Indonesia. Unfortunately, intolerant and exclusive attitudes among citizens still occur. By using philosophical inquiry methods to analyze various practices of interreligious dialogue in Indonesia, it was found that first, there has been a change in approach in interreligious dialogue in Indonesia. Second, it is increasingly being realized that social spaces for encounters between different citizens must continue to be expanded as a medium to combat intolerant attitudes. Third, caring ethics, especially aspects of attention, can be a moral and philosophical foundation that strengthens caring interactions between citizens in the social space that has been formed

Abstract

This study aims to provide a descriptive analysis of ethnicity politics from the perspective of Glazer and Moynihan "Beyond The Melting Pot" to expand Kotawaringin Province. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The research data were obtained from observations, document searches and in-deep interviews. The results found that the desire to separate from Central Kalimantan Province made the five prospective regencies of Kotawaringin Province form a Melting Pot. "Melting Pot," which is meant here, is to be "Orang Kotawaringin." The Kotawaringin community is very heterogeneous, originating from not only one ethnicity but being able to unite for a common goal.In contrast to Glazer and Moynihan's "Being America," which illustrates the pattern of ethnic interaction in New York City is eternal. In Kotawaringin, this ethnic identity is only temporary and impermanent. The collective identity of being an Orang Kotawaringin is built according to an instrumentalist perspective, namely: ethnicity is seen not only as a given value or as a result of a social construction but rather as used to obtain benefits, including federal benefits

Abstract

The difficulty access of urban-city healthy latrines are influenced by population density, limitation of infrastructure and high mobility. Cultural factors become one of the key in influencing people’s behavior to access healthy latrines. The aim this research is to explore the culture factors influencing to access healthy latrine. The method uses a retrospective quantitative approach with cross sectional analytical method (cross sectional) to know the cultural factors that exist in shaping people's behaviour in using healthy latrines. The findings of this research are the cultural factors related to access of healthy latrines which studied include belief on the taboo, gender, beliefs and differences of each generation. The significant influential factors are trust, knowledge and attitude. While other factors simultaneously affect the citizen in behaving using healthy latrines. The conclusion is that the behaviour created by individual knowledge, attitudes and actions in accessing healthy latrines, it will be established and successful if the cultural factor approach is carried out simultaneously. The concept of a person about something is the impact of the way of thinking about something based on the culture containing non-individual but public meaning, so when the system of meaning belongs to the collective society, society can have the same pattern of behaviour. The cultural factors can serve as a basis for improving urban residents' access to healthy latrines.
