Abstract

Employee mental health plays a crucial role in sustaining organizational productivity, particularly in high-risk industries such as fertilizer and chemical manufacturing. This study aims to identify early psychological distress among employees in fertilizer and chemical companies in Gresik City using the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-29), with particular attention to demographic characteristics and work units. Quantitative research design was employed, using primary data collected through questionnaire distribution. Data analysis included validity and reliability testing, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination (R²), and simultaneous (F) testing. The SRQ-29 instrument was found to be valid (r = 0.496; p = 0.000) and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.738). Regression analysis indicated that age and gender significantly influenced SRQ-29 scores, while work unit showed no significant effect. Although all variables collectively affected psychological distress, the explanatory power of the model was very limited (R² = 0.020). These findings suggest that demographic factors contribute only marginally to employee mental health, highlighting the greater importance of other factors such as workload, work-related stress, social support, and physical working conditions. The study underscores the need for early detection mechanisms and comprehensive mental health policies in high-risk industrial settings.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication has increased the use of WhatsApp stickers as a dominant expressive medium, particularly among Generation Z. Stickers function not only as message enhancers but also as visual symbols carrying layered meanings and ideological values. Beneath their humorous and casual appearance, many stickers represent sexually connotative messages that may contribute to the normalization of symbolic sexual harassment in digital communication. This study aims to examine the representation and normalization of sexual harassment through WhatsApp stickers using a mixed approach that combines visual data analysis and contextual narrative interpretation. The research applies Roland Barthes’ semiotic framework, encompassing denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were collected through digital observation and documentation of selected stickers containing ambiguous meanings and sexual connotations, which were then interpreted within the context of contemporary digital culture. The findings indicate that stickers contribute to the construction of cultural myths that frame harassment as humor, thereby blurring the boundary between expression and violation. This study highlights the importance of visual communication literacy and critical awareness to prevent the normalization of sexual harassment in digital interactions.

Abstract

This study examines the digital destination image of Madakaripura Waterfall by analyzing tourist sentiments expressed in Google Review posts from January 2024 to November 2025. The research is motivated by unique governance issues, particularly the period of temporary closure declared by the local government while on-site operations continued, which triggered diverse tourist responses on digital platforms. The analysis was conducted using the Naïve Bayes sentiment classification algorithm, word cloud visualization, word frequency analysis, and thematic analysis. The findings reveal that positive sentiment dominates (69.44%), primarily driven by appreciation for the natural beauty, scenic landscape, and the unique “eternal rain” phenomenon. Neutral sentiment (8.18%) mainly consists of factual descriptions related to environmental conditions, accessibility, and practical visitor information. Meanwhile, negative sentiment (22.38%) is largely influenced by governance-related issues, including the forced use of local guides, unclear pricing systems, and uncomfortable interactions with local stakeholders. These governance and service-quality issues are identified as the main threats to the destination’s digital image. The study proposes several strategic recommendations, including strengthening community-based tourism (CBT), implementing transparent and standardized pricing, enhancing capacity building for local guides, and optimizing social media–based visitor feedback mechanisms.

Abstract

Fostering a sense of love for Indonesia is essential for every citizen, including students of Sekolah Indonesia Makkah who live in Saudi Arabia. This can be achieved with their iconic school uniforms featuring batik decorative motifs that reflect Indonesian aesthetics combined with iconic elements of the local culture and natural environment of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.  School uniforms featuring such batik ornaments can also instill a sense of pride among students as members of the Indonesian nation living abroad, particularly in Saudi Arabia. To produce a dress code design featuring these motifs, a creative art-based method is required. The process involves: (a) developing conceptual designs, (b) creating design sketches for batik motifs, (c) applying the designed motifs to textile materials, (d) sewing prototype products, and (e) analyzing the aesthetic outcomes of the dress code that incorporates Indonesian and Saudi Arabian decorative elements. The creative outcome of this research is a prototype of a school dress code design that features decorative motifs inspired by the natural and cultural elements of both Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, developed for three education levels: elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school.

Abstract

This study explores the forms of social adaptation among coastal communities on Mandangin Island, Sampang Regency, in response to the growing impacts of climate change. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design, the research involved six informants, consisting of key and main participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, then analyzed using content analysis to identify emerging social adaptation patterns. The findings reveal four main forms of social adaptation: (1) solidarity and mutual cooperation, which strengthen collective responses during environmental crises; (2) social independence, reflected in rainwater management and livelihood diversification; (3) community resilience, built through cooperation and flexible economic strategies; and (4) collective awareness and local knowledge, which guide communities in interpreting environmental signals and maintaining ecosystem balance. These social mechanisms demonstrate that resilience among coastal communities is rooted not only in physical adaptation but also in cultural values, shared experiences, and social cohesion. Therefore, enhancing social capital, preserving local wisdom, and integrating community-based strategies into climate policies are essential for achieving sustainable coastal development.
