Abstract

Any deficiency of carotenoid in goldfish’ feeds can fade the color of the fish (Carassius auratus), especially in aquarium condition. The aim of this study was to explore other sources of carotenoid which is to replace the synthetic carotenoid already used. The fish were fed with different types of feed i.e. those without carotenoid source (A), those with synthetic astaxanthin (synthetic carotenoid) (B), Haematococcus pluvialis meal (C), and marigold petal meal (D). Lightness (L), chroma (C), hue (H), and the content of total carotenoids in the skin of fish were analyzed. The result showed that lightness was not significantly different among treatments. The best value of chroma was 35.59% (D), significantly different from those with other treatments and followed by 25.25% (B), 20.36% (C), and 19.98% (A). The highest content of total carotenoid in the skin was derived from B (59.55mg/kg), followed by D (24.79mg/kg), C (6.84mg/kg), and A (5.37mg/kg). This study suggests that marigold petal can be used as an alternative natural carotenoid source replacing synthetic carotenoid.

Abstract

Radiopharmaceutical for bone cancer seeking was developed in variable phosphonate compound labeled with technetium-99m, formally pyrophosphate and diphosphonate compound. Either pyrophosphate or diphosphonate still unsatisfied to use as radiopharmaceuticals for bone seeking agent because the high accumulation in lever, muscle and blood. CTMP have higher affinity than others. The Physicochemical characterization of 99"Tc-CTMP has been conducted. The characteristic of labeled compound have to fulfill the criteria as the good radiopharmaceutical. The characteristic such as radiochemical purity, electric charge, lipophilicity, plasma protein binding, and hydroxy apatite binding. The results showed that the radiochemical purity greater than 95% (96,83 % ± 1,35), have a negative electric charge, lipophilicity -2,61, plasma protein binding 31,90 % ± 3,3, hydroxyl apatite binding 76,6% at 3 hours. The value ofhidroxy apatite binding was high, it showed CTMP have indicated a great potential as radiopharmaceutical for bone cancer seeking.

Abstract

A hybrid model of Probabilistic Neural Network and Fuzzy C-Means has been developed. The model has been applied using Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients (MFCC) as feature extraction for identification. In addition to the natural voice, the effect of noise has also been taken into account. It has been shown that the model has good accuracy at 96% for voice without noise, 85.5% for voice with noise at the level of signal to noise ratio 30, and 60% for voice with noise at the level of signal to noise ratio 20. It has also been concluded that the clustering procedure using Fuzzy C-Means could improve the accuracy up to 96% for large number of training data.

Abstract

Abstract

Garcinia tetranda Pierre (Clusiaceae) was reported as source of flavonoid which has various bioactivities forhealth. Pure compound has been isolated by repeat chromatography techniques (Vacuum Column Chromatography, preparative TLC and TLC). UV, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopic data of isolated compound (isolate)compared with the compound which was found before, and showed same as biflavonoid GB-1 data. Antibacterialassay against Salmonella typhi showed lower activity than chloramphenicol. Biflavonoid GB-1 compound foundin this study is different to the previous study, which all of compounds were classified as xanthones. Therefore, result of this study improves compound variability of Garcinia tetranda. However GB-1 is not potentially used asGram-negative antibacterial agent, especially against Salmonella typhi.

Abstract

Land degradation level can be identified by calculating Erosion Hazard Classification (EHC) and Population Pressure (PP) because these two factors are interrelated with the occurrence of land degradation. This research aims to determine the spatial distribution of management priority for degraded land using GIS based on EHC and PP with three models of scenario based on different influence of interest. The results of those three scenarios displayed that the first priority for degraded land management were located at four villages with a total area of 296.34ha. The largest village was Selajambe village, Cisaat District, Sukabumi Sub-development Area (SDA) with 132ha or 0.49% of the total research area. The second priority covered at 113 villages with a total area of 9400.69ha. Sukaraja village, Sukaraja district, Sukabumi SDA had the largest area percentage of 1.33% or 360ha of the total research area.
