Abstract

Motorcycle population growth more than 12,1% a year in Bali involved in increasing number of motorcycleaccident. To minimized accident rate at road that had high percentage of motorcycle like Sunset Road and 4/2Dtype of geometric a motorcycle lane (MCL) can be applied. Feasibility of MCL Application must fulfil criteriaaccident rate, motorcycle proportion, operational speed, saturation degree (V/C) at peak-hour volume (PHV) andminimum road width. Data of traffic volume and motorcycle speed were collected for 8 hours and analyze withMCL criteria (Idris, 2008) and minimum width road. Sunset Road assumed had motorcycle accident rate 55,6%,motorcycle proportion (pcu) 42% or 500 pcu/hour, operational speed 62 km/hour, V/C= 0,45 and road width 6meters. Compared with the criteria, Sunset Road didn’t fulfilled motorcycle proportion criteria <1.200 pcu/hour,operational speed >44,17 km/hour, V/C <65 and road width <7,5 m, therefore MCL can’t be applied in SunsetRoad.

Abstract

Leaf fall disease caused by Corynespora casiicola can damage the rubber resulting in considerable economic losses. The opportunities to get rubber plant genetic resources that are resistant to leaf fall disease Corynespora casiicola have been made   by testing the resistance of some germplasm IRRDB 1981. Testing the resistances of some germplasm is to produce genetic resources that are resistant to leaf fall diseases and used as parents in the crossing. Testing was done by using immersion leaves method in a solution of toxin C. casiicola. Resistance testing of 28 genotypes germplasm IRRDB 1981 showed various resistance responses. The results indicated that there were five genotypes that had moderate resistant which were PN 323, PN 333, PN 448, PN 494, and PN 593, and one genotype PN 235 showed highly resistant. The six genotypes needed to be tested in the field to determine their interaction with the environment and then used as cross parents to obtain resistant parentage to C. casiicola leaf fall disease.

Abstract

Golden cyst nematode (GCN/Globodera rostochiensis) is a new potato parasitic nematodes found in Indonesia in 2003 and caused great economic losses more than 70% of the production. Due to the problem caused by chemically control (resistancy, killed non target organisms, and environment pollution) development of alternative control measures is a great importance i.g. microbial control. The purpose of this research was to find chitinolytic and proteolytic actinomycetes for controling eggshell nematode which bears vitelin (protein) and chitin. The result found 21 actinomycetes isolates with ratio chitinolytic and proteolytic activities more than 3.0 and among of seven isolates were chitinolytic, 11 isolates were proteolytic and three isolates had double enzyme activities. Seven selected isolates were examined on their chitinase and protease specific activities and ability to degrade nematode eggs. The results showed three isolates had chitinase activity more than 200 IU/mg, four isolates had protease activity more than 300 IU/mg. Results of the bioassay test using crude enzyme on the GCN eggs found that three isolates were able to damage eggs more than 90%. The three isolates can be applied as an agent for biocontrol of GCN in the future.

Abstract

Polyurethane microcapsule had been made as self healing coating material. Polyurethane microcapsule synthesis had been conducted by interfacial polymerization both spontaneous polymerization and prepolymer polyurethane polymerization using glycerol as renewable palm oil polyol. Based on FTIR-Spectra showed the functional group of polyurethane formed both spontaneous and prepolymer polyurethane polymerization. Polyurethane microcapsule formed was in spherical form. The particle size prepared by spontaneous polimerization was smaller than particle prepared by prepolymer polymerization at range 20,51±12,7 and 139,2±72,3 μm respectively.

Abstract

Indramayu District is located in northern part of West Java. It has two seasons, dry season and rainy season. In this research, wet and dry rainy season in Indramayu District was investigated by using Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI). And also by using wavelet power spectrum analysis was investigated some factors that influence rainy season in this area. It is found that monsoon circulation is a dominant circulation that causing dry season (March – November) and rainy season (December–February). In extreme condition, El Niño – Southern Oscillation (ENSO) contributes to variability of rainy season. Index Southern Oscillation (SOI) influences variability of rainy season. If negative SOI occurred, mostly part Indramayu District has drier rainy season and the opposite, the rainy season will be wetter if positive SOI occurred. Another phenomenon that influences to the variability of rainy season is Indian Ocean Dipole (Dipole Mode Index, DMI). Negative DMI brings more precipitation. On the other hand, positive DMI influences to less precipitation.

Abstract

Abstract

Investment is an investing activity on a company of aimed to obtain the return. One of the interesting investmentsfor investors is investing in the mining sector because of large amount of return obtained in a short time. Before choosing which stocks to be invested in the mining companies, investors need to look at the companyperformance to avoid the risk. The purposes of this study are to examine the investment potential and analyze theinfluence of financial ratios (CR, DER, EPS, ROE, TATO, ROA, PER, NPM) on stock returns in the mining sector. The object of this research is mining companies who are listed on index SRI-Kehati and Jakarta Islamic Index(JII) period 2010–2013 consistently. The method used was descriptive analysis to calculate Tobin‘s Q score tolook at potential investments. Panel data regression analysis was conducted to see the effect of financial ratios tostock return. The results show that PTBA and MEDC have high investment potential from 2010–2013. Becausethe company’s Tobin‘s Q score acquired above 1 for four consecutive years, while the explanatory variables havea positive and significant effect on stock returns is CR, EPS, ROA, and PER. PTBA is the highest average score ofCR, EPS, ROA, and PER compared to the other mining companies. Therefore, PTBA is the best choice of investmentfor investors, specifically in the mining sector.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah has long used a method which is based on the calculation of the conjunction of the Moon and the Sun to determine the beginning of Islamic months. If the conjunction happens before sunset and sunset happens before moonset, then the next day is the beginning of an Islamic month. Such a method often produces dates of the beginning of Islamic months which are earlier than the actual visibility of the lunar crescent. This research was conducted to compare the determination of the beginning ofIslamic months produced by different criteria. The criteria compared were Muhammadiyahs', Lapan's, SAAO's, and Odeh's. Astronomical data needed were obtained from Accurate Times 5.1 software for Cibinong area as the location of reference. Calculations were performed to determine the beginning of Islamic months starting from Sha'ban 1429 until Shawwal 1430. Comparison of the dates produced by the four criteria shows that those calculated by Muhammadiyah .'s criterion yielded in five differences out of 15 data points observed. It calls for a review on the criterion.
