Abstract

The research was to investigate the difference effect of cooking liquor concentration and bleaching sequence on the properties Kraft pulp sengon wood (Paraserianthes falcataria). The Kraft pulp conditions were alkalinity (16 and 20%) and sulfi dity (20 and 25%). The maximum pulping temperature was 170°C for 4 hours, Liquor to wood ratio of 4:1 and 100 gram OD. Pulp bleaching sequences were P1 DEP2 and D1ED2P. Utilization of selected Kraft pulping was effective enough for dissolving lignin. The highest and the lowest lignin decreasing were 90% and 61% respectively. The increasing effect of alkali concentration was more dominant than its sulfi dity on the pulp delignifi cation selectivity. Generally, the optimum Kraft pulping conditions were alkalinity 20% and sulfi dity 25%. The sequence bleaching difference of the selected pulp tended on the decreasing of kappa number and pulp yield. The fi rst pulp bleaching method (P1EDP2) was relatively better than the second method (D1ED2P)

Abstract

The aims of this paper is to analyze the social economic linkages among region, means intra-interre-gional of Aceh province during prior-post tsunami reconstruction and recovery. The social economy destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami had brought massively impact to the Acehnese welfare. Based on the facts stated above, it is very crucial to observe and measure the social economic sectors development among regions as an impact of infrastructure development and social economic integration that focus on three main regions, namely, Ladiagalasska (Indian Ocean, Gayo Alas Singkil, and the Malacca Strait). In addition to that, each of region has a different effect and correlation significantly. The research methodology applied the Multiregional Input-Output (MRIO) in term to set up MRIO Aceh 2002 and 2006 and descriptive analysis. The research found the increase social integration intra-region in Aceh the and decrease of trading among regions post tsunami attack.

Abstract

Salmonella serotypes are found at the slaughterhouse (RPH) and chicken abattoir (TPA). The aim of these re-search was to determination the distribution of Salmonella serotypes from the RPH and TPA. Total of 267 samples were to collected from RPH and TPA in Bogor. These samples consisted of 98 carcass, 16 fl oors swab, 8 knife swab, 1 table swab, 13 tub water, 4 waste water, 37 mesenteric glands, 50 caecum, 38 faeces, and 2 chicken nuggets were analyzed for Sallmonella contents using biochemical reaction and serology. The research showed that RPH and TPA in Bogor were contaminated by Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella schwarzengrund, Salmonella weltevreden, and Salmonella typhimurium. The distribution Salmonella serotype from RPH and TPA in Bogor occurred in the caecum, mesentery glands and carcass.

Abstract

Food needs will increase every year due to population growth and changing patterns of food consumption, so it needs a good cultivation technology to increase the productivity and national food production. Some efforts have been done including the use of paddy new varieties (VUB). The purpose of this research was to investigate the yield of three new varieties of paddy rice fi eld in Imogiri, Bantul, Yogyakarta Province. The experiment was carried out in Jayan village, Kebon Agung, Imogiri, Bantul, Yogyakarta from August to November 2009. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with three new varieties of Inpari 1, Conde and Dodokan as treatments. Each treatment had three replicates and conducted in the total area of 3,000 m2. The results showed that Inpari 1 had the highest dry harvested grain crops (11.64 t / ha GKP), followed by Conde (11.28 t / ha GKP) and Dodokan (9.47 t / ha GKP), respectively.

Abstract

Labor is often neglected in the studies of adoption of agricultural innovation even though it may hinder or facilitate the adoption. This research is to analyze the linkage between the use of hired labor and the amount of pesticides application based on a survey data of 160 tangerine farmers in Thailand. The result shows that there is a positive signifi cant linkage between the use of hired labor and the amount of pesticide application. Main policy implication of this fi nding, especially in the Indonesian context, is that the target of integrated pest management extension or farmers fi eld class should be broadened to include farmers as well as hired laborers.

Abstract

In disaster risk management, government plays important role as decision maker on disaster risk reduction policies. The capability of local governments to manage disaster risk starting from the early stages before the disaster occurs until disaster occurs by reconstruction plans. Pacitan government has an important responsibility considering Pacitan coastal is prone to tsunami. Through structured interviews and focus group discussion (FGD) to the authorities agencies, the study found that the government has tried to reduce the risk of a tsunami through the emergency policy, early warning systems, and resource mobilization. Although historically, Pacitan tsunami had never experienced tsunami directly, but the local government has done a good preparation in the face of the tsunami in terms of both physical and non-physical efforts.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of intercropping model against wheat and tobacco pro-duction. The experiment was conducted in Kaliangrik-Kabupaten Magelang, Samiran-Kabupaten Boyolali, Kledung-Kabupaten Temanggung from April 2010 to October 2010.The experiment was arranged in Random-ized Completed Block Desain consisted of 3x3+2 control with 5 replications. The fi rst factor were 3 location (Kaliangkrik, Samiran, Kledung). The second factor were 3 model wheat-tobacco intercropping, i.e: model I: tobacco population is constant with wheat planted in two other sides of tobacco, model II Tobacco population is constant with wheat planted only in one side, model III tobacco population is decreased a half and is replaced by wheat population (50%). In general the most efi sien model in Kaliangkrik-Magelang was model III (50%), Samiran-Boyolali was model II (one side), and Kledung Temanggung were both model II (one side) and model III (50%) showed the highest value.

This research wanted to know the pattern of covert resistance by santri to order of discipline. The method of collecting data were taken through observation, depth interview, and documentation study. From the result of inductively data analysis, it is known that the resistance pattern of santri who performed in groups provides space of collective identity development. With a collective identity, all santri develop cooperation to protect one another, especially in the framework of tight regulation manage in pesantren.
