The world demand of coconut oil or Coconut Crude Oil (CCO) was 2.18 million tons per year in 2014. The market share of Indonesian palm oil in international market was the second largest after the Philippines. Vegetable oil market fluctuations in international markets was influenced by economic conditions of CCO consumer countries therefore influenced on oil exports. The purpose of this study was to analyze demand elasticity of Indonesian palm oil in international market and it competition with other producers. This study used secondary data, i.e annual data of Indonesian coconut crude oil exports and other exporting countries in international market from 1984 to 2015. The market demand analysis approach using AIDS (Almost Ideal Demand System) and competition with the analysis of comparative advantage of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) was used. Results showed that Indonesian coconut oil commodities has a comparative advantage in international market. Moreover, increasing demand for imports of coconut crude oil in international market would be beneficial for Indonesia since it may increase Indonesian market share.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence factors of rice production and analyze economic efficiency of production factors usage of rice in the Wirosari District, Grobogan Regency. The research was conducted from October to November 2016 in Wirosari District. The method used in the study was survey method. To determine research location this study used purposive method while the respondent was chosen using simple random sampling with the number of respondents were 60 farmers. Data were analyzed by multiple linier regression with Cobb-Douglas function and calculation of economic efficiency. The result showed that the production factor affecting rice production was seed and NPK fertilizer. The usage of NPK fertilizer had not been economically efficient yet. Whilst the usage of seed was economically inefficient.Â

Assessment the Impact of Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA) on Exports of Indonesian Agricultural Commodity Akhmadi, Heri

This paper focuses on investigation whether Indonesian membership on ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA) increased export of agriculture commodity. The panel augmented gravity model data from 33 major partner countries over the period of 2000-2014 has been applied to analyze the factors affected Indonesian agricultural exports. The overall finding showed that Indonesian agricultural exports were positively correlated with the size of economy and partner countries population, while they are negatively correlated with the appreciation of currency exchange rate and the enrollment on free trade agreement. Moreover, the Indonesian membership on AFTA does not gave significant impact and profitable on Indonesian agricultural exports.

Food is considered as one strategic issues in Indonesia in the reason that food expenditure reached 58.81 percent of total household expenditure in 2014. Therefore, increasing food security and agribusiness development should be main program in agricultural and region development. One thing that can be done to improve food security and agribusiness development area is the development of comparative advantage of regional food commodities. This study aims to (i) identify the comparative advantage of food commodities; and (ii) develop alternative strategy in the development of comparative advantage of food commodities. The study was conducted in Batang Regency, Central Java Province. The method used in this study was Location Quotient (LQ), External Factor Evaluation Matrix (EFE), Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE), Matrix Strength Weaknesses Opportunities Threats (SWOT) and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The results showed that food commodities which are has comparative advantage in Batang Regency are rice, corn, and cassava. Strategic priority for the development of comparative advantage of food commodities is the utilization of Appropriate Technology Service Post (POSYANTEK), for the settlement of food commodities problems. The strategy is expected to increase productivity of food crops and support food security, especially on the availability of food.

This study was conducted in Nganjuk Regency in the reason that this region is the second largest shallot production centre in Indonesia after Brebes Regency. Around 40 percent of shallot from Nganjuk are marketed to Jakarta including Kramatjati Central Market of Jakarta (KCMJ), therefore this study aims to determine actor of the shallot supply chain from Nganjuk to Jakarta and identify the type of risk in the shallot supply chain. The respondents were expert from goverment representatives , academician, and actors of the shallot supply chain. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model was used to identify risk of the shallot supply chain. The result showed that there were seven actors involved in the shallot supply chain from Nganjuk to Jakarta, namely farmer, buyer, wholeseller, bandar, centheng, retailer, and consumer. The AHP model showed that risk of market was the main risk in the shallot supply chain from Nganjuk to Jakarta, following by risk of partnerships and information, and price risk.

The black rice farming is potential to be developed in Indonesia for several reasons, for instance it is a rare local varieties, has many health benefit, high value, and feaseable to be developed based on farming analysis. Magelang regency is a region that has original varieties of black rice. The development of black rice farming was supported by Association of Sawangan Organic Farmers. This study applied internal and external environment analysis and formulated strategy using SWOT analysis, and then the priority strategy was chosen by weighting it based on SWOT analysis framework (AâWOT). Result showed that certified organic product was the most important factor on strength while the decreasing number of black rice farmer was the weakness. Furthermore, increasing people awareness on healty food was the opportunity and the threat was black rice has not been widely known in public. The priority alternative strategy that can be applied by Association of Sawangan Organic Farmers to develop black rice farming is to build a sustainable business partner.

Emping melinjo was one of the agroindustry-products that had great potential to be developed. The industry of emping melinjo contributed more on economic growth in the reason of creating jobs and alleviate poverty. The purpose of this study was to describe the performance of supply chain of emping melinjo from upstream to downstream and analyze the efficiency of supply chain of emping melinjo in Bantul regency. Field study to obtain primary data was done through interviews with the practitioners of emping melinjo supply chain (including farmers and merchants of melinjo as well as producers and retailers of melinjo chips). The results of field studies then tabulated and analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using Linear Programming. The analysis showed that there were 37 supply chain networks of emping melinjo in Bantul. The practitioners of upstream supply chain were melinjo farmers, middlemen, traders, wholesalers, and retailers, while in the downstream, were emping melinjo producers, traders, small traders, wholesalers, retailers and consumers. The activities of the doer of emping melinjo supply chain includes purchasing, sales, harvesting, packaging, packing, stripping, storage, loading and unloading, transporting, sorting and grading. The flow of products and money in the supply chain of emping melinjo run smoothly, while the flow of information was sluggish. Based on linear programming analysis the cost of supply chain of emping melinjo would reach minimum level at Rp33,969,264 per week if the production of emping melinjo as many as 25 361 kg per week wich was distributed using 22 networks.

Various efforts to increase rice production have been done in order to achieve rice self-sufficiency and food security, one of which is the creation of some New Superior Varieties (NSVs) of paddy. This study aimed to analyze the productivity, income, and efficiency of rice farming of New Superior Varieties, including Inpari 29, Inpari 31, and Inpari 32. This research was conducted on December 2014 until April 2015 in Subak Gubug I, Gubug village, as one of the centers of rice production in Tabanan Regency. The study involved 30 farmers who planted those three new superior varieties in 9.38 hectares of wet land area.Â Each farmer used as replicates. Data were collected using interview and direct observation. Data was analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that Inpari 31 variety have the highest productivity, the highest revenue, the most efficient, and significantly different from the Inpari 29 and 32. Multiplication and dissemination of Inpari 31 variety to farmers can be done as soon as possible to increase rice production, achieve rice self-sufficiency and food security.
