Abstract

The aim of this study were to identify the sources of household income and to analyze factors that influence the accessibility of food of household food rice farmers who are not converted and converted their land. The study was conducted in Karanganyar with sample area was Colomadu District. The analysis technique used was description to identify the sources of household income and two different test mean used to determine whether there are differences in average income from various sources between households who did not convert and those who converted their land function. Logit regression was used to analyze the factors that influence the accessibility of food expenditure. The results on sources of household income showed that most households of both have the main income from farming and self-employed. The monthly average income of farm households who were not converted their land greater than households who converted their land. Land convertion, age, number of household members and assets have significant effect on household food accessibility, while farm income and household income were not significant.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to identify consumer attitude toward all kinds of donut atribute which made from wheat flour and mocaf; and to compare consumer attitude toward all types of  subtitution phase of donut. The respondents of this research were 45 respondents which accidentally taken from the buyers.  The method of this research was eksperimental with the object were donut with 30% and 50% mocaf substitution ingredients and without mocaf substitution as a control. The data was gained in March 2015. Fishbein model was used to identify consumer’s attitude toward donut attribute which consist of taste, tekstur, shape, size, colour, and price; whereas Friedman test was used  to compare consumers attitude toward donut with all types of substitution. The result of this research were showed that taste attribute and tekstur attribute was more considered in choosing donut product; and there was no significant difference in consumer attitude toward donut with mocaf substitution.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to analyze the contribution of agricultural sector to GRDP from South Sumatera, to identify agricultural leading sector and sub sector in South Sumatera, to analyze the growth component of agricultural sector. This research used GRDP time series data from year 2005-2013, with analytical methods used Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient and Shift Share. The result of this research showed that agricultural sector contributed 21,79% on GRDP of South Sumatera, and the most contribute sub sector was plantation. The agricultural sector is still a leading sector. The agricultural sectors influenced positively of the national economics, but the growth is still lower than other sectors in South Sumatera, but nationally still compete with other provinces.

Abstract

Nowadays, supply chain management is vital for palm oil plantations, along with the increases of competitive efforts and equal partnership position between suppliers and processors. The research aimed at mapping supply chain patterns of palm oil plantation, at analyzing performances of palm oil stakeholders, and at analyzing factors influencing performances of stakeholders in the province. The research was conducted using survey method by interviewing and focus group discussion. The results showed that (1) there were 3 supply chains flows from bunches of palm fruit to plants of palm fruit processing; (2) roles of stakeholders in supply chain management determining supply volumes, profits, and value added; and (3) factors influencing performances of stakeholders and competitive advantages were plantation productivity, cost allocation for invesment and operation, capacity  of processing plants, and CPO rendemen rate.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the appropriate strategy for PT Citra Utama Rahardja in maintaining business continuity. The case study method was used in this research, as PT Rahardja Citra Utama was a company that processes albasia wood (sengon) into barecore in Yogyakarta. The sources of data was taken from primary and secondary data. The results showed from SWOT analysis diagram was that layout of the company was in quadrant I, that was supported an aggressive strategy which included the integration of backward, forward, horizontal; market penetration; market development; product development; diversification (related or unrelated). Based on the calculation of SPACE matrix (Matrix of Strategic Position and Action Evaluation) the coordinate of SPACE matrix diagram on the X-axis was 1,785 and Y-axis was 0,16 that was in quadrant I. The competition ability of PT Citra Utama Rahardja was considered as high and able to respond the variable of  external factors.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the risk of paddy rice farming and the impact of the use of farm inputs to the risk of rice production in Bali Province. The research was conducted in three districts of rice production centers, Tabanan, Buleleng and Gianyar during two cropping seasons in 2012. The data collected through interviews with 122 randomly selected farmers. Risk production of low land rice was analyzed by the coefficient of variation, while the factors that affect the risk of rice production were analyzed with multiple linear regression analysis with multiplicative heteroskedastic method. The result showed that the risk production of rice on  wet season and the land does not belong to his own status is higher than dry season and his own status. Production factors that significantly affect the risk of rice production are land, organic fertilizers and pesticides.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the trend of palm oil production, the trend of the value of production, trends of CPO(crude palm oil) export volume, trend value of Indonesian exports, as well as to determine the factors that influence the Indonesian CPO exports and to know the benefits of Indonesias CPO. The data that used are annual data which were analyzed using regression analysis to estimate the influential factors, the analysis of RCA (Revealed Comparative Abvantage) and AR (Acceleration Ratio) were used to determine the comparative advantage of the Indonesian palm oil in international market.The results showed that the trend of Indonesian palm oil production on average was increased, while the trend of the value of production, the export volume trend, and the trend of Indonesian CPO export value also increased from year to year. The high productivity of Indonesian palm oil production allows the State Indonesias CPO to exports to neighboring countries, such as China, India, and the Netherlands. From the results of research on the factors that influence the CPO exports to China state that the International CPO price, exchange rate, per capita income, population, and the price substitution (soybean). Factors affecting the CPO exports to China were the CPO price International, capita income of, population, and the price substitution. Factors that affecting CPO exports to Netherland countries were the domestic price, capita income, population, trend, and subtitusi price.Analysis to determine the comparative advantage to Indonesian CPO market showed that Indonesian CPORCA value was higher than the value of the RCACPO World wide  average, while the World RCA value of 1,06, this showed that the market share of Indonesian CPO superior and capableto compete in international market. The growth of Indonesian CPO export has accelerated and higher than other countries in the World (AR =1,009).

Abstract

Food security has meaning not only the availability of adequate food, but also providing security for producers and consumers and ensuring environmental sustainability for sustainable production. Organic farming systems are expected to solve the problem for realizing food security and enhancement of peoples welfare. The results of research indicated that, (1) The implementation level of Standard Operating Procedure-Good Agriculture Practice (SOP-GAP) of Organic Rice Farming in Bantul district was quite high, (2) The implementation level of SOP-GAP of Organic Rice Farming related to the availability of capital, the selling price and the purchase price of inputs (seeds and fertilizers), (3) The level of the farmers decision related to the implementation level of SOP-GAP of organic rice farming, and (4) development of organic rice farming required availability of sufficient capital. In this regard the government, particularly the agriculture authority and food security agency need to disburse or facilitate capital for farmers in revolving as well as low interest loans.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the value chain and efficiency of gedong gincu mango agribusiness in Majalengka Regency. The data collection was conducted by interview techniques, using questionnaire. The samples of this study were: 88 farmers gedong gincu mango taken by using proportional random sampling, 28 sellers taken by snowball sampling, consisted of 15 local collectors, 3 big traders and 10 retailers. Value chain was analyzed using R/C ratio. Marketing efficiency was analyzed by calculating the marketing margin, profit margin, farmers share and marketing efficiency. The results showed that R/C ratio of farmers, small collectors, big collectors and retailers were >1. Highest profit level was achieved by farmers. Based on marketing margins, farmers share and marketing efficiency, all marketing channels were categorized as efficient.

Abstract

One of the important factors that contribute to agricultural development is information. As such agricultural extension workers that link agricultural agencies to the farmers must have adequate and up-to-date information about agricultural practices before they could inform, educate and train the farmers in method and techniques of farming. This study aims to determine the types of information needed by agricultural extension workers; to determine the sources of information used by the agricultural extension workers; and to determine the comparison between types of information with information sources used by agricultural extension workers. The present study was a descriptive study using a survey design and conducted at Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) Province. The populations of the study consists 181 agricultural extension workers divisible in the district level, namely Sleman, Kulon Progo, Gunung Kidul dan Bantul. Sampling procedure in this study used cluster sampling. The method for gathering data from the respondents is based on a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics was to describe the characteristics of the respondents and the dependent variables of the study. As a result, most of agricultural extension workers strongly needed the innovation information in seeking information followed by extension service information and extension role information. The result of information sources used by agricultural extension worker for extension service information, innovation information and extension role information indicates that agricultural extension workers used interpersonal source. Most of them never sought information use Internet, they use radio more frequently than television and video, agricultural extension worker also used mass media as information source.
