Abstract

The aim of the research is to show that presentation is one of the best models for teaching speaking for Adult students. This research and development study consists of exploration, designing model draft, validating model, experts jugment, revising model, implementing model, data description, data analysis, findings and discussion, recommendation, revising, the final model and dissemination. Technique of data collection was obtained by using test, interview, and observation; Technique of data analyze for quantitative data used non independent t-test. The researcher also used descriptive statistic including highest, average, and lowest scores. To analyze the qualitative data, the researcher used trianggulation and flow model of analysis. The research results showed that The first model results showed that: it improved the students’ bravery to speak up in front of the audience and made a better condition of the students’ speaking environment. The second model results showed that the development of the students’ speaking ability growing up rapidly and their grammar and vocabulary also getting better. The Final Model results showed that there is very clear improvement on their bravery to speak up infront of the audience. Their learning progress and speaking ability grew up rapidly, theirgrammar and vocabulary also increased significantly. The computation result showed thatall of the results is higher than tt (2,02). It showed that Developing a model of teachingspeaking through presentationis good, suitable and accurate for teaching and improvingthe Students’ Speaking Ability of accounting education of UMS is proved correct andsignificant.

Abstract

The research was inspired by the unsatisfactory attainment of students on understanding concept implementation (learning mastery) through logaritm at class X students TKJI SMK Negeri Sawit Boyolali Regency odd semester 2011/2012. The research aim at describing the optimalisation of logarithm subject mastery. The subject and data source of the research are 39 students of class X TKJI SMK Negeri Sawit Boyolali Regency by using obseravtion documentation and test. The data analysis uses critical and comparative data analysis. The completion indicator used is 69. The research uses a cycle procedure. The findings  from cycle I, II and II show that there is a progress motivation of the students in the class. In Cycle I 67 average, cycle II 83 and cycle III 92. This shows the significant increase on the motivation of the students from cycle I until cycle III

Abstract

This study is to describe the developent of pedagogical competence, professional competence, personal competence, and social competence of the International Standard Pioneer School in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung. The focus in this study were teacher professional development  of the international  standard pioneer school in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung, by observing the development of pedagogical competence, competence professional, personal competence, and social competence of the international   standard pioneer school in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung. The study is the qualitative research with the ethnography approach. This research was conducted in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung year 2010/2011, the source of the data  obtained  from  the  principal,  vice  principal,  head  of  the  International  Standard Pioneer School programs, teachers, librarians, and students. Data collected by in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Validity of the data was done by triangulation techniques. Analysis of the data used is a model of interactive analysis.   The results of this research can be concluded that the development of pedagogical competence of teachers  of the international   standard pioneer school in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung teachers include longer emphasizes the management aspects of learning, the development of  professional competence include the  aspect  of  improving the  skills  and  aspects of knowledge, competence development aspects of personality include mental, spiritual, and the  formation  of  professional  ethics  that  provides  a  change  in  attitude  teachers  in managing learning, while the component that was developed in the social competence includes the development of emotional intelligence, and development of teachers' roles in professional organizations (MGMP). Developed in the fourth aspect is the competence of the teacher professional development efforts that improve teacher quality, and improving the quality of the learning process that led to improved quality of learning outcomes in schools  RSMABI. Strategi  used  in  the  professional development of    the  international standard pioneer school in State Senior High School 1 Temanggung teachers is through training activities  conducted both  central  and  local  government, or  in-house training workshops held in schools, mentoring subject teachers by the facilitator / lecturer, teacher participation in professional organizations MGMP;   procurement S-2 scholarships for further studies in Mathematics and Science teachers. Constraints are found covering the internal factors are lack of motivation of teachers, school layout, and inadequate infrastructure, as well as external factors are lack of support from Temanggung District government in improving the educational qualifications (S-2).

Abstract

The first year research has aim to: (1) describe the learning assessment process of the speaking theory subject and (2) design the theorethic model of authentic assessment in speaking competence. The method used in the research is Research and Development method, i.e. the research method is used to produce certain product, and to test the effectiveness of the product. The results of the research are: (1) the assessment activity of the students? speaking competence who takes the speaking theory subject have the characteristics of authentic assessment. It is based on the result of the curriculum review which has impact to the syllabus adjustment in directing to the teachers? need at school. Therefore, the speaking competence assessment which focuses on the speaking ability, nowadays its academic competence focus is broading. In addition, the audiences? affective respon is used as the assessment consideration; (2) the theoretic model of speaking competence assessment can be described that the speaking competence assessment is divided as two step categories, they are the process and the result assessment. The portofolio assessment is the most theorithic assessment tecnique which considered as it appropriate to gain the students? speaking competence development. The result of the assessment is divided into two tests, i.e the middle semester test and the final semester test. The middle semester test is used to know the student?s competence which has closed relation to the speaking theories because the students have to mastery the speaking competence in order to practice the speaking competence, the students? must also have to teach it. The final semester test is conducted to know the students? competence in the speaking practice which can be conducted by the three techniques, they are group, peer, and individual technique. The tehcniques can be applied based on the needs and the characteristic of the tested competence.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran poster bisa menjadi alternatif media yang menarik dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Kajian ini berfokus pada penyusunan media pembelajaran poster oleh mahasiswa semester 5 Proram Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia FKIP UMS. Kriteria utama yang diacu dalam penentuan media poster yang baik mengacu pada kriteria keterbacaan, mudah dilihat, mudah dimengerti, dan memiliki komposisi yang baik. Sementara itu, penerapan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berbasis teks mengarah pada sejauh mana penerapan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan teks sebagai dasar utama pembelajaran dengan media poster. Kajian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa baru sebagian kecil poster yang telah memenuhi kriteria poster yang baik. Sementara itu, teks sebagai dasar pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia juga baru ditemukan pada sebagian kecil poster. Hal ini dikarenakan poster mengharuskan tampilan yang menonjolkan poin-poin utama dan bersifat padat sehinga pemanfaatan teks belum optimal.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the language error on the Bahasa Indonesia National Examination instrument test of the Junior High School in 2012/2013 academic year. The research were qualitative descriptive research. The data analyzed the twenty packets of Bahasa Indonesia National Examination instrument test Secondary School Examination in 2012/2013. Twenty packages National Secondary School Examination in 2012/2013 were qualitative data. Data were collected from a package about twenty National Exams then was analyzed by using the language errors. The types of errors found in language packages about twenty Bahasa Indonesia National Examination in 2012/2013 were faults field of phonology, morphology and syntax. The results showed that language errors that occur in twenty packets Discuss Indonesian National Examination in 2013 as many as 58 data. Data analysis results was presented in accordance with the type of language errors that indicate an error in the twenty language packs Indonesian National Examination in 2013, both in the areas of phonology, morphology, and syntax.

Abstract

This study is aimed at describing the working culture of administration, teaching learning activities, and evaluating the teaching learning process of accelerated class of SMP 1 Gunung Jati Cirebon teachers in doing their job. This study applies the qualitative of ethnographic that is to see directly the working culture of the subject of the study such as their behavior, their motivation, their perception and their action related to good teachers working culture. The data are taken from interviews with teachers, documents related of teachers job, and field study. In collecting the data, the researcher carried our interview with teachers, doing some observations, and study the documents related to teachers? job. The data are analyzed and tested using credibility, dependability, and confirm ability tests.The results of the study are: (1) the teachers working culture in doing their administrative means how a teacher increases work such as developing syllabus, making lesson plan, developing indicators, and developing teachers materials. Teachers? working culture in developing their administration work are developed in school and region teacher forum; (2) teachers working culture in teaching learning activities means how teacher increases work such as make, introduction activity, core activity, and final activity in the teaching and learning process as indicated by the curriculum. (3) teachers working culture in evaluating the teaching learning process means how teacher increases work such as compilation planning of assessment and execution of assessment. The study suggests: (1) the headmaster should give opportunities for teacher to develop their work so that they can contribute to the administration, classroom teaching learning process, evaluation and analysis; (2) the teachers can improve their work such as the administration, classroom teaching learning process, and evaluation of study with activities or constructions by school, duty education, and related institute; (3) the researcher, moreover, should conduct the study concerning the teacher working culture better.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe the process of procurement, utilization, and maintenance of educational facilities in Junior High School 9 of Surakarta. The type of the research qualitative research with ethnographic design. The place of the reserach in Junior High School 9 Surakarta. The time of the research  is started from  May to December 2015. The research subjects are, teachers, business Infrastructure, and students. Technique in collecting the data was by interviews, observation, and documentation. Validity of the data with source triangulation, triangulation techniques, triangulation time. The interview process with the first order and second order understanding understanding. Data analysis of techniques with methods groove. Results of the study are (1) The procurement process facilities and infrastructure that is done with consultation with a team of schools developers, adjusted for allocation and priority program activities school (2) Utilization of facilities and infrastructure that many students who misuse the facilities and infrastructure available, although the utilization not optimal, but it has been used by the entire school community, and (3) treatment facilities and infrastructure that is conducted periodically based on reporting from the management of facilities and infrastructure, and by all study groups as well as having a special service officer for the division of a particular area.

Abstract

This research is the context of increasing student achievement special subjects of Natural Sciences of Energy and its amendment through Mastery Learning approach. Subject and source of research data as many as 25 students. Data collection method used observation, documentation,  and testing. Analysis of data using critical and comparative analysis. Results of research and discussion are (1) the data obtained from precycle until the second cycle, obtained progress of student achievement in the learning of Natural Sciences at the material Energy and its amendment is average of 72.1 and the first cycle by an average of 76.5 and the second cycle by an average of 84.2. From this, it seems clear that an increase in the average value of precycle to the first cycle of 4.4 figure (6.1%), from the first cycle to the second cycle there is an increase of 7.7 figure (10%), from precycle to the second cycle there is an increase of 12.1 figure (16.8%). The highest value precycle stage at 82 and 86 as well as the first cycle of the second cycle of 92. It is clear that from the stage of the first cycle precycle to an increase of 4 digits (5.4%), from the first cycle to the second cycle an increase of 6 figures ( 15.4%), and from the second cycle precycle to an increase of 10 points (21.6%). The lowest value obtained precycle stage at 66 and 70 as well as the first cycle of the second cycle of 76. thus, can be affirmed that the step of the first cycle precycle to an increase of 4 digits (6.1%), from the first cycle to the second cycle there is an increase of 6 figures (11.4%), and from the second cycle precycle to an increase of 10 points (15.2%). Percentage from precycle was obtained by 20% and the first cycle was obtained by 56% and the second cycle of 100%. It seems clear that the step of the first cycle precycle to an increase of 36%, from the first cycle to the second cycle there is an increase by 44%, and from the second cycle precycle to an increase of 80%. Thus, student achievement in the learning of Natural Sciences at the material Energy and its amendment of precycle until the second cycle occurs a significant increase.
