Abstract

The machining strategy is one of the parameters which practically influences the time of the different manufacturing geometric forms. The machining time directly relates to the machining efficiency of the tool paths. In area milling machining, there are two main types of the tool path strategies: a direction-parallel milling and a contour-parallel milling. Then a direction-parallel milling is apparently simple compared with a contour-parallel strategy. In this paper, we propose a new model of the direction-parallel machining strategy for triangular pockets in order to reduce the tool path length. We have developed an analytical model by appending additional the tool path segments to the basic tool path for cutting un-machined area or scallops, which remained along the boundary. To validate our results, we have compared them to the existing model that found in the literature. For illustrating the computation of this model, the study includes two numerical examples. The results show that the proposed analytic direction-parallel model can reduce the total length of machining. Thus, it can take a shorter time for milling machining.

Abstract

Most wheelchairs circulating in Indonesian market are imported from China at affordable prices, but do not fufill the ISO 7176 series standards. SNI 09-4663-1998 about wheelchair is one of medical devices standard. The standard is considered do not covers the quality and user safety, while wheelchair technology is transform rapidly. Mapping and analyzing gap between stakeholder need and SNI 09-4663-1998 is expected to be input of standard review to improve the competitiveness of products. This research using the Zachman Framework approach following FACTS steps. Data collection uses the observation, in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussion. Data analysis using Inter Rater Reliability (IRR) which to measure the level of agreement of respondents. The results showed that stakeholder technical needs included 7 parameters: stability, maneuverability, mobility, dimensions, strength, durability, and product information. SNI 09-4663-1998 only includes the product strength parameters through a drop test so that the standard needs to be reviewed.

Abstract

The development of manufacturing sector with digital platforms is the latest technological advances in industry 4.0 era.  The use of e-commerce as business digital platform in marketing activities is very potential to be developed for improving SMEs performance.  To build a digital platform that fits with the needs of SMEs and users, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) was conducted to obtain informations in designing a customer-based digital platform.  After the customer's needs were obtained, product specifications, concept development and selection, product design testing, industrial design analysis, and prototyping also had been conducted.  The analysis showed three highest ranking for digital platform design were an application with specific information product, attractive design of the interface, and adequate security.  Furthermore, the function criterias were arranged to formulate alternatives, i.e. how to log in, button shape, color, font size, and database properties.  While the screening and assessment criteria were based on ease of transaction, availability of information, and ease of use.

Abstract

Data mining is useful in finding interesting patterns of hidden information in a database with specified algorithms. Management of uncertainty in the automotive industry supply chain, with case data at PT QQQ that produce car batteries, classification techniques are used to manage uncertainty in the case of engine breakdown. Based on the utilization of classification techniques, performance comparison analysis was carried out from several methods, namely Decision Tree, Bagging, Boosting and Random Forest. The research data is divided into testing data (75%) and training data (25%). This study uses Software R for analysis needs. The need for testing the goodness of the model uses package (caret) help to see the value of accuracy, sensitivity and specificity. The analysis shows that the Random Forest and Bagging method is superior compared to the Decision Tree and Boosting methods based on accuracy criteria, while the sensitivity criteria, Bagging and Boosting methods are superior to Random Forest and DecisionTree. The lowest sensitivity value is owned by the Decision Tree Method, which indicates that the ability of the method is weak in predicting very few classes.

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to examine empirically the influence of organizational factors on the adoption of e-procurement in government institutions.The research design used is a survey research. This study examines theoretical models involving 185 respondents from 130 work units of all local government agencies in Central Java, Indonesia. Data analysis was done by using structural equation to know influence of organization value in e-procurement adoption process in government institution. The result of the research shows that organizational polychronicity values influence the behavior of e-procurement. Characteristics of dynamic organizational functions and tasks directly enhance the use of e-procurement behavior. Another finding, the learning organization has an effect on the e-procurement intention. The ability or capacity of the organization provides an opportunity for individuals to do individual learning will further activate the process of adoption of various applications of e-procurement. An important result of this study is that organizational value is one of the main determinants of successful adoption of technology. The findings of this study provide insight into the importance of organizational value in supporting the successful implementation of e-procurement.

Abstract

To succeed in global competition, the proper aquaculture fish farming supply chain must be built. To determine the accuracy of its supply chain, it is necessary to measure it with the right measuring instruments according to its characteristics. Modeling a conceptual framework for measuring the performance of aquaculture fish farming supply chain is carried out by involving stakeholders as respondents. Expert respondents are selected so that the framework is designed appropriately. A deep literature review, a deep discussion, and a questionnaire are used to identify its indicators and sub-indicators that are following the characteristics of a fishery aquaculture supply chain. These indicators and sub-indicators will be structured into a hierarchy, and then an analytical hierarchy process (AHP) will be investigated and rank the weight of indicators and sub-indicators. This paper concludes that this framework can be used to measure the performance of aquaculture fish farming supply chain. Its measurement result can help the stakeholders to prioritize supply chain improvements on important indicators with poor performance.

Abstract

PT GMF Aeroasia Tbk. is the largest MRO company in Indonesia. This company has 67 plants worldwide. With the many plants that must be serviced, the complex process of repairing aircraft with spare parts that exceeds 15,000 types. Part distribution is a very big challenge and must be faced by companies where part distribution is done with multi-stage warehouses. At present the main warehouse has problems with the inefficiency of the min-max distribution system at each plant where the system aims to bond the parts that have the greatest frequency of demand to the sub-warehouse at the plant. This study discusses the improvement of Min-Max distribution with ABC Analysis NG-Model Multiple Criteria which aims to improve the efficiency of the list part number with the frequency of order transfer requests and the most optimal performance at 9 internal plants with the largest part demand activity. The proposed method is known to be able to increase min-max accommodation including, Transfer Order frequency from 23% to 40.80% and weekly delivery performance from 22% to 62.69%. In addition, this method can also reduce the amount of part number on Min-max with the results of Transfer Order accommodation and increased performance from the methods currently used.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to design a batik coloring machine using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method in order to increase the value of fading and stains on fabrics. It can be concluded that the results of the design of batik coloring machines according to the application of QFD have 3 rollers/cylinders and propulsion about 0.190 HP with the working concept of a sheet of cloth wrapped around the cylinder with rotation of 72.5 rpm. There are significant differences between variables in the design before and after the experiment on the batik value quality analysis of soap washing and desecration of unbleached plain cloth of Primisima type, Gamelan stamp. The average difference between before and after the experiment is 0.060 or increase to 6%, while for the analysis of batik quality test, the value of rubbing dry and wet cloth has a mean difference between before and after the experiment of 0.100 or an increase of 10%. Standard time generated from the measurement process using a machine dipping carried out by 20 batik makers has a value of 0.2701 hours/ unit with total output of 4 units/ hour, while standard time for coloring activities that uses a bucket dip is 0.5346 hours / unit with total output of 2 units/ hour.
