Abstract

Daerah Jimbaran dan Kedonganan adalah merupakan salah satu daerah yang direncanakan untuk kawasan pariwisata pantai Pulau Bali. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengadakan inventarisasi data lingkungan fisik daerah tersebut yang meliputi iklim, geomorfologi, tanah, hidrologi, dan oceanografi. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode observasi yakni pengamatan, pengukuran dan pencatatan terhadap aspek-aspek tersebut baik langsung di lapangan maupun di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukan babwa wilayaj Jimbaran dan Kedonganan sebagian besar mempunyai potensi lingkungan fisik yang baik sebagai kawasan wisata pantai. Subu rata-rata adalah 27.05° C dengan subu tertinggi terjadi pada Bulan Oktober yakni 29° C dan suhu terendah pada bulan Agustus yakni 26° C. Hujan rata-rata setahun adalah 1240 mm dengan bulan-bulan basah antara Desember hingga April, sedang bulan-bulan lainnya adalah bulan kering. Secara geomorfologis daerah penelitian merupakan teluk dimana dari tempat ini dapat melihat panorama alam yang indah yakni terbenamnya matahari di waktu sore. Daerah ini juga merupakan bagian Ieher dari suatu tombolo. Sebelah selatan daerah penelitian berbatasan dengan cliff dari batu gamping yang menambah keindahan panorama alami. Kedalaman air tanah bervariasi antara 4-7.65 meter dengan tebal air tanah antara 0.65-1.00 meter. Potensi air tanah sebesar 5.913.600 mm3, dengan pH air di beberapa daerah 7 karena adanya intrusi air taut. Potensi tersebut tidak mencukupi untuk kebutuhan air untuk keperluan hotel-hotel di wilayah ini sebingga harus menambah air dari luar kawasan tersebut. Wilayah teluk Jimbaran-Kedonganan ini mempunyai tinggi gelombang antara 0.25-1.60 meter, frekuensi gelombang antara 10-15 buah gelombang per menit, lebar gisk antara 75-100 meter, dengan kemiringan gisk 5-7. Di dalam teluk Jimbaran Kedonganan ini terdapat adanya teluk dan tanjung yang kecil yang letaknya selalu berpindah-pindah. Hal ini berbahaya bagi perenang di laut karena arus balik kuat (rip cureent) ke arah laut berpindah-pindah tempat pada periode waktu tertentu.

Abstract

The study was carried out in Ungaran. The goals of this study are to know and to evaluate the potential spring to add drinking water of Ungaran population. This study uses observation and secondary data analysis. The collected data are meteorology data, the water production of Municipal waterworks, the quality and the quantity of springs, the number of population and the customers. The result of the study shows that there are eight springs with the total debit 157 liter/ second or 6739 m3/ day. The Municipal Waterworks uses 65 liter/ second or 5616 m3/ day with the leaking rate 7% or 5222,88 m3/ day and the rest is used for irrigation. The quality of spring is qualified for drinking water requirement. The need of drinking water for per capita of the population is 136.7 liter/ capita/ day. In 2003 the prediction of the number of consumers is about 20.745 persons, so the total need of drinking water is predicted about 2835.8 m3/ day. The total need of drinking water added with the leak water is 3032.36 m3/ day. The Municipal Waterworks fulfils the need of drinking water for the population especially for the consumers of Municipal Waterworks. However, if the number of customers is accounted based on the number of the population in the pipe sope (­+ 48246 persons), the Municipal Waterworks will not fulfil the need of drinking water for population, therefore it needs to add volume production of drinking water.

Abstract

Seagrass ecosystems are exciting parts of the tropical coastal region that are potential for ecotourism activities. Marine ecotourism sector in the city of Padang has begun to develop within last few years. This development has not only positive impacts but also negative threats to the environment. Therefore, carefully select the most suitable areas for this purpose is important. This article aims to propose the potential areas for seagrass ecotourism in Padang city based on Geographic information system (GIS) analysis. We used spatial analysis to develop the seagrass ecotourism suitability index that is also potentially applicable to other areas. The results of the analysis show that area of the seagrass ecosystem in Nirwana beach (23.75 ha), Cindakir beach (2.56 ha), and Pasumpahan island (5.46 ha) with a total area of the seagrass ecosystem overall in Padang City (31.78 ha). These areas have been overgrown by Thalassia hemprichii with coverage >50 – 75 % in Nirwana beach, 25 – 50 % in Cindakir beach and Pasumpahan Island. The suitable areas for seagrass ecotourism were found on the beach of Nirwana (covers 84% as very suitable), Cindakir beach (covers 73 % as moderately suitable) and Pasumpahan island (covers 78 % as moderately suitable). We found that activities of local communities decreased the suitability of Cindakir beach and Pasumpahan island because these activities increase the abundance of mud in the substrate of waters.

Abstract

Management  of water dam often failures due to the limited attention to the socio-economic activities of the local population. This research is conerned with agricultural land utilization practiced by the local inhabitants in the vicinity of the dam. Special attention is devoted to characteristics and motivation of the farming households, the way in which lands are utilized, as well as the contribution of the activities to the welfare of the households. The research combines secondary data analysis and a household survey. Primary data are collected via a household survey covering a sample of 150 households cultivating the draw down land of the dam. These households are taken by a simple random sampling, representing some 5,890 hhouseholds living in the vicinity of the dam. Data analysis are executed using various statistical techniques in order to test differences and correlation.The study reveals that the tidal areas of the Wonogiri Dam fluctuate from 1,300 to 6,400 hectares, within 1 to 7 moths period per annum. The cultivator of the tidal area consist of the farmer inhabitants of the dam prior to the construction (81,3 percent) and inhabitants of the surrounding areas of the dam and new omers from other areas (18,7 percent). These farming households are pushed to cultivate these lands due to limited control over land resources in their areas of origin ( averaged 1,057 m2). Variations in the areas of origin and motivation in utilizing of the lands do not lead to significant differences in the size of land cultivated in the tidal areas. Most of these lands are devoted to ultivate rice as staple  food (1,470 m2), rather than to cultivate cash crops (palawija) (1,118 m2). Farming techniques employed in these areas are much more simple than those prior to the construction of the dam or those elsewhere at present in the district. The most important factor affecting incomes in this activity is the amount of capital cost spent. These incomes comprises some 60 percent of the farming households.

Abstract

Increase of amount of ageing population represent the indication that a region have experienced of the ageing population. In some developing countries, of including Indonesia, growth of ageing population are estimate will mount quickly in period to come, although its percentage do not same. Whereas characteristic do not know surely. This matter is caused by there is view that ageing population of still not yet of this problem, but within long term will be are problem of if are not paid attention since now. Studying of ageing population of pursuant to its characteristic will assist in handling good problems now and also to come. With the existence of data of usable ageing population resident characteristic for the materials of population development planning in area.

Abstract

National Park of Meru Betiri (TNMB) is one of National Park which exist in the region tip East Java Part of South arch residing in region tip East Java Part of South arch. This National Park has various function in protecting system of the life of flora and fauna with the ecosystems. The existence of National Park has a big advantagerus for the communities who live around the area. Along with change of period to governance in the new order becomes a reform governance makes the TN-MB ruined as the effect of foray. Hall Management of DAS Sampean-Madura (2002) reports that National Park of Meru Betiri which its width 58.000 Ha, for about 4.023 Ha have destroyed without vegetation or it becomes farm of season crop. With that condition, so the area is specified as Rehabilitation zone The research is conducted with the method of survey then clarified with the method of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Analyses data used by the descriptive analysis qualitative. The result of the research can be known that there is a high resistence or threat to the society who live around the TN MB which specified with the job where mostly as a farmer ( 35,86 %) and hard farmer (38,74 %) while the most agraris 16,6 person / Ha. Mine’s land for about 0,219 Ha / KK and productive age 63,8 %. So, it can be conclude that the rehabilitation of TN MB for this time is more concentrate to the zone area of rehabilitation and the edvantage of avoiding the farm to the jungle zone and conten zone. It is also necessary that the factor of social economic not only used to formulate the zonasi but it also used as a basis for a reconstruction of Merubetiri National Park.

Abstract

Indonesia constitute an archipelagic state which passesses resource of ocean, ecosystem of coast area and social economy dynamics of various maritime society. The nation of Indonesia had ever been welknown as a maritime nation which dominated Nusantara territorial waters as far as neighbour state. Fish cultivation in embankruent  system has been being known since the era of Mojopahit Kingdom and likewise boat industry was held along the north-oast of Java which was ever glorius in the beginning of Dutch Colonialism. But, up to now why a large part of Indonesian fishermen are still using simple technology and method in fishery and fish cultivation? Change in policy within Dutch era development. Which was farm land oriented and plantation had influenced the maritime tradition slip off. Opening of railway and land tract transportation in Java had changed economic ativity pattern of the oast area to hinterland. Investment and human resource were councentrated to farmland development and plantation was directed to export so that it affected the coast area slip off which was basically fishery activity. Development after independence, mainly in the era of New Order, it started from farming activity raised to industry society. Coastal area came back to develop with industrial growth in the urbans of Java north coast. Nevertheless development in fishery does not yet return to show the sign of glorious untill the end of this age. It is  hoped that, with properly judment of the islands coastal area out of Java, goverment will direct  its policy and investment to develop the new maritime society to go against the glorious in the 21st century.

Abstract

Borobudur is a famous tourism destination which is listed as a World Heritage Site listed in 1991. Recently the condition of the temple is threatened with many problems related to tourist behaviors, overcrowded vendors and traders, as well as managerial issues. This research was carried out with literature study, field observation, peer discussion and seminar. Reflecting the history, this research tried to explain the rise and fall of civilization. This research tried to explain Borobudur as magnet for tourism destination and tourism as locomotive for community and regional development. There are five reasons why glory of civilization can fall even dramatically: (1) horizontal conflicts among social groups; (2) intrigue and struggle for power among elite leaders; (3) expansion and occupation from foreign power; (4) environmental degradation; and (5) disasters like volcanic eruption, earthquake and tsunami. Borobudur has many enigmas, when and why the fall of its civilization. It is not easy to explain these enigmas. The results of this research are: (1) it is possible combination of causes the fall of Borobudur civilization, but the most possible was volcanic eruptions of Merapi. (2) Borobudur has problems related to the tourist number who disturb the stone relief and statues when they climb up the temple (3) Tourists disappointed to lack of hospitality and low quality of services provided by the management as well as the vendors and traders. (4) The problems of conservation related to environmental changes. Among others, prime recommendation is “Rethinking Borobudur” to get new alternative and strategy to manage this world heritage.

Abstract

The study aims to detect ground water availability at Buhias Island, Siau Timur Selatan District, Sitaro Regency. The research method used the survey method by geoelectrical instrument based on subsurface rock resistivity as a geophysical exploration results with geoelectrical method of Wenner-Schlumberger configuration. Resistivity geoelectrical method is done by injecting a flow into the earth surface, then it is measured the potential difference. This study consists of 4 tracks in which each track is made the stretch model of soil layer on subsurface of ground.  Then, the exploration results were processed using software RES2DINV to look at the data of soil layer based on the value of resistivity (2D). Interpretation result of the track 1 to 4 concluded that there is a layer of ground water. State of dominant ground water contains the saline (brackish). Location of trajectory in the basin to the lowland areas is mostly mangrove swamp vegetation. That location is the junction between the results of the runoff of rainfall water that falls down from the hills with sea water. Bedrock as a constituent of rock layer formed from marine sediments that carry minerals salts.

Abstract

Medium resolution satellite data such as Landsat is very potential for mixed pixel (mixel) to occur. Indonesian land use diverse especially urban areas makes high potential mixel in the first Landsat pixel size of 30 meters x 30 meters on the actual condition. Aircraft multispectral aerial photo data LAPAN Surveillance Aircraft (LSA) with a spatial resolution reached 58 cm can display objects in more detail in these sizes. The purpose of this research is to study mixel on Landsat data with multispectral data LSA as a complement Landsat data. The method proposed in this study is a visual interpretation with GEOBIA method for classification of land cover, and then test the validity of the sample to be used in research, and the use of such vegetation index NDVI to see the connection between vegetation index data of vegetation index LSA with Landsat data. The results showed that the regression equation obtained by regression between NDVI of Landsat data and NDVI of  LSA with a significance of less than 0.05 is y = 0.732x - 0102 with a value of R2 = 0.887. Through these results we can conclude that the NDVI values on both the data related to one another.
