Abstract

This article discusses about mythology constructions in cosmetic advertisements which influence the consumers’ cognition. Semiology, particularly Barthes’ mythology, is used as an analysis to reveal the the process of imposition or appropriation of the cultural-connotative meaning into the cosmetic advertisements through linguistic and non-linguistic signs. This article is based on the research which was conducted in 2010 as the part of Roland Barthes’ Mythology study which is applied to cosmetic advertisements in Television. The constructed Myth through linguistic and non-linguistic signs, namely myth of “white skin”, can persuade the consumers’ cognition to buy the cosmetic products. The result of this research shows that the connotative meaning imposed to the signs can trigger the consumers to buy the products. Abstract

Pada hakekatnya Pendidikan berfungsi mengembangkan kemampuan dan membentuk watak serta peradaban bangsa yang bermartabat dan mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa, secara opersional pendidikan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang beriman dan bertakwa, berwatak, berakhlak mulia, sehat, berilmu, cakap, kreatif, mandiri, dan menjadi warga negara yang demokratis serta bertanggung jawab. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan sistem pendidikan dan manajemen sekolah yang mengarah proses pada pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Secara rasional, pendidikan berbasis karakter sangat penting untuk segera diimplementasikan, oleh karena itu isu sentral yang dikaji dalam penulisan berkenaan dengan strategi, kesiapan SDM, indikator keberhasilan, desain implementasi, strategi evaluasi, hambatan dan komponen kebijakan yang dibutuhkan. Penulisan ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus pada dua sekolah dasar di wilayah kabupaten Garut, dan menghasilkan kajian sebagai berikut : (1) Strategi implementasi manajemen sekolah berbasis karakter mencakup strategi aspek : Efisiensi Input; Efektivitas Process;) Produktivitas Output; Relevansi Outcome; (2) Hal penting dalam upaya mempersiapkan potensi SDM adalah peningkatan kompetensi spiritual karakter personal; (3)Indikator keberhasilan implementasi manajemen sekolah berbasis karakter ini yang mencakup keberhasilan proses dan hasil pada semua aspek komponen manajemen; (4) Desain harus disesuiakan dengan kondiai, target dan tujuan; (5) Strategi evaluasi, dilakukan dua tahapan, yakni tahapan evalusi diri dan tindak lanjut perbaikan; (6) Hambatan terbesar adalah lemahnya komitmen dan potensi karakter pada personal; (7) Komponen-komponen penting pada rumusan kebijakan.

Abstract

This study intends to explore the effect of the management knowledge acquisition to customers and employees about environmentally friendly products on product quality. At a later stage, this study also analyzed whether the quality performance factor and the application of environmental accounting are moderating the relationship between management knowledge and product quality. Specific objectives of this study was to establish management's knowledge for customer understanding about green product will have an effect on product quality, to determine the distribution of management knowledge to the employees about the involvement of employees in the manufacturing of green product will have an effect on product quality, to establish quality performance moderate the relationship of knowledge management of customer and diistribusi knowledge to employees with quality products, and to establish environmental accounting reporting moderate the relationship of management knowledge to customers and knowledge distribution to employees with quality products. This study was designed in an exploration that examines the acquisition of management knowledge about customers and employees on product quality, as well as the moderating variable is the quality of performance and application of environmental accounting. Regression test done to prove the hypothesis set out in this study. A discovery in this study prove that the acquisition of management knowledge about customers and employees about green products affect the quality of environmentally friendly products. Variable quality of performance can also be proved empirically moderate the relationship. While the application of environmental accounting is not empirically proven to moderate the relationship of knowledge management and product quality.Keywords: green product, knowledge management, customers and employees, product quality

Abstract

Intense competition from synthetic fibers has affected the production of natural fibers all over the world. Of the total global fiber production of 50,88 million tones, according to annual report available for the year 2007 natural fiber contributed about 57%. This share came down further 52% in 2008 and since 2009 increases significantly. Empowerment of social economic program must be able to conduct public economy which based at country town. These programs must be able to achieve seven goals, such as net export income and rising public income; founding industrial structure based on the strength of small-medium enterprises; founding the foundation of economic transition to industrial age by developing forces of agro-industrial and agribusiness; achieving global competitive advantage by increasing productivity; innovation; and effective (appropriate technology) dissemination; increasing quality(global standards); creating high economic activity and keep sustainable quality environment. Natural fiber (pineapple leaf) industry is one of Indonesia is industrial sector which was identified having the ability to achieve these goals. Several reasons are pointed out, such as that Indonesia has greatest agro-fiber planted areas the for example pineapple, agave(sisal),ramie, kenaf and henemp, so that for the future Indonesia will get 10% natural fiber production share in the world. So that the National Natural Fiber Industry has strategic position and high prospect will be developed at the future. This paper present discuss and describe to support The Indonesian Natural Fiber Industry Development Program, such as mapping Natural Fiber Development areas based on the potency of natural fiber (agro-fiber) production and planted area; analysis of industrial scales, structure of industrial development and feasibility study. Finally, this paper describe state industry of natural fiber development strategy and stated strategy recommendation to stakeholders. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the content of heavy metals Hg, Cd, and Pb of small and large clams over a period of two months (May and July). In this study, depuration system was applied in an effort to reduce the content of heavy metals. The study was done with inventorisation of the sample area, analysis of the characteristics of clams, operation of depuration system, and analysis of content of Hg, Cd, and Pb. Clam in Situ Gede waters showed heavy metal content of mercury and cadmium that were not detected in meat during the period of two months (May and July) both in large and small clams. Content of lead in May was higher than in July. The average lead in waters Situ Gede during the two periods amounted to 1.34 ppm in small clams and 1.44 ppm in large clams. Depuration system could reduce Pb contents in small clams 0.0861 ppm after 10 days and 0.1506 ppm after 20 days and in large clam 0.0513 ppm after 10 days and 0,0835 ppm after 20 days.

Abstract

This research is intended to examine the influence of environmental uncertainty and entrepreneurship’s characteristics on business competencies and Small Micro businesses’ performance in Municipality of Balikpapan. Data analysis is conducted by using path analysis with AMOS program software. The result of the research illustrated the following: environmental uncertainty negatively and not significantly affected to the business competencies, entrepreneurship’s characteristics significantly and essentially affected to the business competencies of small micro businesses and not significantly and essentially affected to the performance of small micro businesses, business competencies not significantly affected to the performance of small micro businesses. This research suggest that the Micro and Small Business must have clear management to allow the more efficient and effective business activity implementation. Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the nomological relations among market-orientation, entrepreneuship-orientation, learning-orientation and innovativeness in medium-sized business (SMEs). The study involves a questionnaire-based survey of owners from small-medium sized-firms operating in Purbalingga regency. A total of 150 usable questionnaires were received from SMEs. These were subjected to a Partial Least squares (PLS) analysis. The results show that firm learning-orientation and firm market-orientation positively influences firm innovativeness; firm market-orientation positively impacts firm learning orientation; firm learning-orientation mediates the relationship between firm market-orientation and firm innovativeness. This study has implications for SEMs aiming at increasing their innovativeness based on its orientation on market and organization learning.
