Abstract

Uranium waste generated from the utilization of nuclear technology on radioisotope production, nuclear fuel production, calibration of fuel post-irradiation, and the purification of uranium from yellow cake. Uranium is a long-lived radionuclides and hazardous if it was entered in human body, thus requiring appropriate treatment with high safety. The processing conducted by separated the uranium which was contained on waste with ions exchange process. Uranium has been separated, later then immobilized with the polymer. The study of simulation uranium waste processing using an Alumina Silica Phosphate (ASP) has been conducted. Simulation uranium waste with the concentration of 0,05 g/l was contacted to ASP with contact timer and pH as a parameters. The Alumina Silica Phosphate which saturated with uranium, later then immobilized with epoxy resin polymer by total of waste contents as a parameter. The immobilization was conducted by mixing ASP which saturated with uranium and epoxy resin. The study showed that the best composition of ASP was obtained at the ratio of 1:1, contact time of 15 minute, and pH of 7 with absorption of uranium about 93,5%. The characteristic of polymer and the immobilization waste showed that optimum of waste content is 20% of weight with the density of 1,0538 g/cm3; compressive strength of 19,96 kN/cm2 and there was not detected the leaching of uranium which out from the polymer-waste. Therefore, ASP can be used on processing of uranium waste and could be suggested to be applied on Radioactive Waste Management Installation.

Abstract

Zeolite is one of non-metallic minerals or multi-use industrial minerals due to its physical and chemical characteristic as an absorbent, ion exchange, molecular filters and as a catalyst. Minerals in zeolite group are generally found in tufa rocks formed from volcanic-ash sediments resulting from alteration, diagenesis, and hydrothermal processes. Indonesia is laid in the volcanic series from Sumatra, Java, Nusa Tenggara, until Sulawesi Islands. One of the products of volcanic tuff wide spreading form the volcano, partially or wholly have undergone a process of alteration or diagenesis to become zeolite. Geologically, Indonesia has big potential to produce zeolites such as those found in Lampung, West Java, Central Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi, with the estimate resources of 447,490,160 tons.

Abstract

The fertilizer is one of factors production besides land, water, seed, and cultivation technology. Without giving fertilizer which suitable with recommendation the needs of the plants to fulfill nutrient balance, potential product or potential of plant genetics will not be achieved. Proper fertilizer is giving fertilizer with exactly type, right dosage, correct method and time, and effectively to increase productivity, and economics efficiency. This is contained in slow release fertilizer which wearing zeolite filler. NPK fertilizer slow release using zeolite as one of filler with ratio of N:P:K:Mg = 25:5:10:2 and 23:7:10:2 with doses of 400, 600, and 800 kg/ha/year applied on two times a year. Whereas, recommended doses is using a singular fertilizer of N= 300, P2O5 = 94, K2O = 180, MgO = 54 kg/ha/year, 4 applications/year. Dosage of 800 kg/ha/year of formula I and formula II was increasing treetops. Dosage of 400 kg/ha/year and 600 kg/ha/year giving lower treetops. It is compared with the control without fertilizer treatment was showed a significant increase (115 to 129%) in clones of tea 2025 in Tea Garden Canaan.

Abstract

ZSM-5 Mesoporous with variation ratios of SiO2/Al2O3 20, 35, 50, and 100 have been successfully synthesized. Phase of mesoporous created using Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) templates. Crystal obtained has an acidity and higher thermal stability. Diffraction peaks typical of ZSM-5 appeared at 2θ = 7-9 ° and 2 θ = 23.02 °, while typical peak of mesoporous materi als appeared on 2θ

Abstract

Composite of Zeolite-resin polymethacrylate have been made with various compositions of zeolite on composite. The composite were made by homogenous mixture of zeolite powder with powder of tetrahidro furfuryl methacrylate, methacrylate polymerization which was conducted by pasta phases with mixing 1 ml mixture solution of tetrahidro furfuryl methacrylate and hydroxy propyl methacrylate. A big part of zeolite in product composite was in the polymer solution phase. The balance between supporting material and matrix material around the zeolite on composite of zeolite-resin polymethacrylate obtained on the fraction of zeolite in the composite between the 46.67% of weight up to 70% of weight. Strength and hardness of zeolite-resin polymethacrylate depends on balance between zeolite and resin polymethacrylate. The optimum hardness of this composite reaches value of 29,7 N/ım2, which obtained from composite that have a fraction zeolite 46,67% of weight.

Abstract

The study about biopesticide granular shaped has been conducted by utilizing zeolite and vertisol. Both materials are used as media that functions to storage Steinernema. The purpose of this study was to find method and formulas to produce biopesticide active nematodes with granular shaped that have high viability and effectiveness and can last long live. The result showed that drop method on combination of zeolite and vertisol material produce granule with ± 8 mm diameter and weight of ± 0.3 g. Biopesticide on granule shape that mixture result of zeolite, vertisol, and Steinernema spp. able to maintain viability of Steinernema spp. until nine weeks. The formulas to produce granule biopesticide an effective until nine weeks is a combinations of mixture 50% up to 75% zeolite on vertisol.
