Abstract

Padatan titanium silikat(TS1) yang mempunyai kandungan titanium berbeda telah disintesis dengan teknik hidrotermal. Struktur padatan dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan teknik difraksi sinar X, spektroskopi inframerah dan Uvvis DR. Gugus hidroksil permukaan diamati dengan teknik spektroskopi inframerah setelah sampel dievakuasi pada suhu 400oC. Hasil menunjukkan adanya kaitan yang erat antara konsentrasi titanium tetrahedral,pergeseran puncak hidroksil permukaan dan jumlah titanol.

Abstract

ZSM-5 Mesoporous with variation ratios of SiO2/Al2O3 20, 35, 50, and 100 have been successfully synthesized. Phase of mesoporous created using Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) templates. Crystal obtained has an acidity and higher thermal stability. Diffraction peaks typical of ZSM-5 appeared at 2θ = 7-9 ° and 2 θ = 23.02 °, while typical peak of mesoporous materi als appeared on 2θ

Abstract

MoO3/TS-1 catalyst has been proven have a higher catalityc activity rather than TS-1 on phenol hydroxylation reaction become a hydroquinone. Preparation catalyst using a impregnasi technique with ammonium molbidate as a precursor. Catalyst calcined at temperature 400-800°C and characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), pyridin adsorption, and hydrophilicity test. Calcinations temperature affects a catalyst characteristic and related to catalyst activity. MoO3/TS-1 catalyst has been calcined at temperature 400°C showed a higher hydrophilicity rather than TS-1, a faster speed reaction on phenol hydroxylation, and increasing of catalyst activity rather than initial catalyst, TS-1.

Abstract

Calcium oxide was obtained from waste fish bones that has been carried out systematically by decomposition at various temperatures that 800oC, 900oC and 1000oC for 4 hours. Calcium oxide from the decomposition process was characterized using XRD, FTIR, SEM EDX and SAA. The result of XRD Diffractogram showed that the crystallinity increased as the calcination temperature increased. The absorption bands in the FTIR spectra of calcium oxide from calcined waste fish bones shown at 355 cm-1 region indicated Ca–O vibration, which was reinforced by the emergence of a peak at 859 cm-1. Based on the analysis using SEM EDX, the calcined waste fish bones typically irregular particles and contained dominant calcium element. The low value of BET surface area and the total of pore volume were consistent with the adsorption measurement with SAA. The calcium oxide was applied for biodiesel synthesis from Waste cooking oil through transesterification reaction. The result of the optimization that the calcium oxide was decomposed from waste fish bones at 900oC. It exhibited best catalytic activity in the transesterification of waste cooking oil providing maximum biodiesel yield of 93% at 4% (w/v) of catalyst loading. The decomposition of biodiesel are determined by GC MS that produced methyl palmitate, methyl linoleate, methyl elaidate, methyl linoleolate, methyl stearate and methyl linolenate.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh waktu aging pada sintesis material mesopori. Material mesopori hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi dengan XRD, FTIR dan fisisorpsi nitrogen. Analisis XRD menunjukkan bahwa variasi waktu aging berpengaruh pada struktur mesopori dari zeolit alam (MZ). Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan adanya silanol dan siloksan pada sampel MZ dan MMZ. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa sampel MZ dan MMZ pada semua variasi waktu aging merupakan material kaya silika. Analisis fisisorpsi nitrogen memberi informasi bahwa penambahan waktu aging menyebabkan diameter pori yang lebih besar dan luas permukaan spesifik yang lebih kecil serta dibandingkan dengan bahan baku (zeolit alam, MZ) karena keterlibatan surfaktan kationik (CTABr) selama sintesis.

Abstract

PKL STEPULATION OF FREE STORE BORAKS AND FORMALIN TOWARDS HEALTHY AND HYGIENIC SUPERIOR PRODUCTS ABSTRACT The Community service is focused on getting healthy and hygienic food around the campus. In the early stages, the identification of food sold in street vendors around the campus, whether it contains borax and or formalin. If the results of identification are still found foods containing borax and or formalin, then counseling and guidance and given about alternative materials borax and or formalin, which is safe for health. 40 food samples were random taken from street vendors around the campus. The content of formalin and borax is analyzed qualitatively and quantitative using test equipment’s. The results showed that there were 3 food samples from street vendors serving meatballs and noodles containing formalin and 5 food samples from street vendors serving food containing borax.Keywords: borax, formalin, qualitative analysis. ABSTRAK Layanan Masyarakat difokuskan untuk mendapatkan makanan sehat dan higienis di sekitar kampus. Pada tahap awal, identifikasi makanan yang dijual oleh PKL di sekitar kampus, apakah mengandung boraks dan atau formalin. Jika hasil identifikasi masih ditemukan makanan yang mengandung boraks dan atau formalin, maka konseling dan bimbingan dan diberikan tentang bahan alternatif boraks dan atau formalin, yang aman untuk kesehatan. Sebanyak 40 sampel makanan diambil secara acak dari pedagang kaki lima di sekitar kampus. Kandungan formalin dan boraks dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat uji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 3 sampel makanan dari pedagang kaki lima yang menyajikan bakso dan mie yang mengandung formalin dan 5 sampel makanan dari pedagang kaki lima yang menyajikan makanan yang mengandung boraks.

Abstract

CaO is a very good catalyst for oil transesterification reactions into biodiesel, but requires a reaction time of 2 hours to obtain equilibrium. The time of CaO catalysis reaction can be accelerated by modifying the CaO catalyst with SrO. Synthesis biodiesel of waste cooking oil has been successfully conducted by transesterification reaction that used batch reactor assisted by CaO.SrO catalyst. The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics and catalytic activity of catalyst in the transesterification reaction. Catalysts have been successfully synthesized by coprecipitation method with oil to methanol molar ratio of 1:1, and its calcined at 800oC for 3 hours. Catalyst was characterized by XRD to determine the crystallinity. The smaller catalyst crystallinity obtained as the decline in intensity and shifts diffraction angles of CaO modified SrO catalyst. Surface area of catalyst characterized by SAA, that allow surface area between CaO modified SrO by 10.217 m2/g. Transesterification reaction performed on variation time (30, 60, 90, 120, 150 minutes), and the catalysts amount (1, 2, 4, 6, 8% w/v). The optimum condition of catalytic activity in reaction for 2 hours and the catalyst amount is 1% w/v of reactants that produce yield of biodiesel is 96.4%.

Abstract

Titanium silicalite (TS-1) is known as an active material catalyst in the epoxidation reaction. In this study, tungsten oxides (WO3) with various loading amount have been supported on the TS-1 to increase of the catalytic activity of the TS-1 material. The solids structure and property were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature programmed reduction (TPR), ultra violet-visible diffuse reflectance (UV-Vis-DR) and infrared (IR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The results showed that the structure of TS-1 is not collapsed after impregnation of WO3. It was also found that tungsten species have interacted with the silanol groups on the surface of TS-1.

Abstract

Vanadium oxide supported on the surface of titanium silicalite was investigated in benzene hydroxylation to determine its activity as heterogeneous catalyst. Effect of vanadium loading on structure and activity of titanium silicalite was investigated. On the basis of X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy techniques, it was found that the titanium structure was remained on the modified catalyst. The catalytic activity of the modified catalyst was observed to be higher than that of parent catalyst.

Abstract

Abstract PARTICLE SIZE AND CRYSTAL CONFORMATION OF SYNTHESIZED ZEOLITE-A WITH TETRAPROPYLAMMONIUM HYDROXIDE (TPAOH) ADDITION. The aims of this research is to study the effect of tetrapropylammonium hydroxide (TPAOH) concentration in the synthesis of zeolite A to its physical characteristics such as crystallinity, crystal conformation and average crystal size. The zeolite A was synthesized with composition 3.165 Na2O : 1.000 Al2O3: 1.926 SiO2: 128 H2O : x TPAOH where x was 0; 0.0385; 0.0577; 0.0770; 0.1540 and 4.1602. The zeolite was crystalized under hydrothermal condition in a stainless steel autoclave at 100°C for 5 hours. The resulting crystal was washed with distilled water until pH 8 and then dried in an oven at 80oC for 24 hours. FT-IR and XRD analysis results show that the synthesized zeolite A at x = 4.1602 has the lowest crystallinity. It is estimated due to the mass of TPAOH was four times higger than the mass of zeolite framework components (Si and Al). SEM and PSD (Particle Size Distribution) analysis results show that TPAOH concentration affected the crystal conformation and the average size of zeolite A particles. The formation of chained crystal conformation was caused by the electrostatic interactions between TPA+ and negatively charge of zeolite framework. In addition, the particel size of the synthesized zeolite A at x = 0.1540 was 2.024 µm which was smaller than the particel size of the synthesized zeolite A without TPAOH, which was 3.534 µm.  Keywords: average size of particles; crystal conformation; TPAOH; zeolite A  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh konsentrasi TPAOH (Tetrapropilamonium hidroksida) dalam sintesis zeolit A terhadap sifat fisikanya yang meliputi kekristalan, konformasi kristal dan ukuran rata-rata kristal yang terbentuk. Pada penelitian   ini   zeolit A   disintesis    dengan komposisi 3,165 Na2O : 1 Al2O3 : 1,926 SiO2 :128 H2O: x TPAOH. Konsentrasi TPAOH divariasikan dengan nilai x adalah 0; 0,0385; 0,0577; 0,0770; 0,1540 dan 4,1602. Metode hidrotermal digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan kondisi suhu  hidrotermal 100°C dan waktu kristalisasi selama 5 jam dengan pH pencucian 8. Hasil karakterisasi menggunakan FT-IR (Fourier Transform – Infrared Spectroscopy) dan XRD (X-Ray Diffraction)  menunjukkan bahwa zeolit A yang disintesis dengan x = 4,1602 memiliki kekristalan terendah. Hal ini diperkirakan terjadi karena masa TPAOH yang digunakan empat kali lebih besar daripada masa penyusun zeolit (Si dan Al). Berdasarkan hasil karakterisasi menggunakan SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) dan PSD (Particle Size Distribution), dapat diketahui bahwa TPAOH berpengaruh terhadap konformasi kristal dan rata-rata ukuran kristalnya.  Terbentuknya konformasi kristal seperti rantai disebabkan oleh adanya interaksi elektrostatik antara muatan positif pada TPA+ dan muatan negatif dari kerangka zeolit. Zeolit A yang disintesis dengan x = 0,1540 memiliki ukuran partikel rata-rata 2,024 µm yang lebih kecil dari daripada zeolit A tanpa TPAOH yaitu sebesar 3,534 µm. Kata kunci : ukuran partakel rata-rata; konformasi kristal; TPAOH; zeolite A
