Abstract

The research aims to identify the insects in rice plants in the district Pilangkenceng and Kare Madiun. Research method using qualitative descriptive and in accordance with what is on the field. Data were collected by observation. Insects captured in two ways: directly and using flay arrest of the net. The results showed that the insects found in rice plant in the district of Pilangkenceng order Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. Insects found in the District of Kare consists of the Order Orthoptera, Odonata, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Homoptera. Keywords: insect diversity, identification, Oryza sativa L.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the quality of science learning outcomes matter of human digestive systemin class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 3 Pacitan school year 2011/2012 through the implementation oflearning strategy Jigsaw - Lesson study. The results show that the quality of the science learningprocess increases . It can be seen from the increase in the percentage of success of the action on thefirst cycle of 62.59 % increased by 7.41% after the second cycle , which becomes 80.00 % and basedon the level of success include the category very well . In addition it also increases the percentage ofmastery learning in the time before the actions of 38.89 % , after the first cycle of 72.22 % and thesecond cycle in the classical mastery learning students reach 100 % . The average value of learningoutcomes also increased , at the time before the action was 71.00 , after the first cycle of 72.31 and thesecond cycle in the classical mastery learning students achieve 76.31 . From the results of this studyconcluded that learning with LS - Jigsaw strategy can improve the quality of science teaching , thestudents of class VIII - A of SMP Negeri 3 Pacitan school year 2011/2012 .Keyword: learning, jigsaw, lesson study

Abstract

Lesson study is a model of professional development of educators through collaborative research and continuous learning based on the principles of mutual kolegalitas and learning to build community study. Lesson study can be implemented at various levels of education , including college. The level of implementation of the Lesson study done is learning plan, implementation of learning, and reflection. Lesson study cycle is done 4 times with the topic Fungi, Sterilization, Media Bacteria and Isolation, and Environmental Microbiology. Lesson study results showed an increase in the quality of learning that is Microbiology Subjects with variations learning methods , learning strategies, media variations, and how to evaluate, especially in the use of Mind Mapping . Lesson study is ongoing implementation will accelerate the implementation of professional development learning. Increased professionalism of lecturers will be followed by an increase effectiveness of learning and teaching and will indirectly have an impact on improving the quality of education at large. Abstract

Improving the quality of teaching biology should continue to be done to establish a professional teacher of Biology and intelligent. This is not an easy thing to do as turning the hand because it requires the cooperation of all faculty in the Department of Biology that is expected from day to day also always improve professionalism . Biology lecturer and intelligent professional, who can develop his professionalism in accordance with the challenges of globalization and the dynamics of global education  will be a living example for students majoring in Biology. Biology teacher candidates who are prospective professional and intelligent teacher who always want to learn throughout life, literati Science and technology, mastering the English language, capable of carrying out classroom action research, writing scientific papers diligent, capable students according to the needs and development of the era, as well as having intelligence thinking. They are also expected to have the ability to constantly develop the ability, can produce intelligent action, which is done with full responsibility, and is able to be recognized by the public in carrying out their duties in the field of education and learning. One effort that can be done by lecturers Biology is biology of learning by presenting to increase the independence of students in learning, and develop metacognitive skills. Lecturer builder courses should be worked together to give its share in coaching students to become teachers of Biology is the professional and intelligent. Abstract

Familiarize learners to communicate, think critically and creatively and to consider moral values of Pancasila is one Permendikbud 81 A mandate in 2013. The need for students to be exposed to high level thinking tests in Learning Science is to hone the skills of students at the high school level. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of student mastery and achievement test indicator junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests of learning science. This study was conducted at 20, 23, and 28 November 2012 in three districts, there are: Blitar, Mojokerto, and Pamekasan. The population of this study were junior high school students in East Java with a sample of students SMP 3 Nglegok Blitar (15 peoples), SMP 2 Dlanggu Mojokerto (15 peoples) and SMP 7 Pamekasan (15 peoples) by using purposive sampling technique. Data sources such as student scores on the analysis of high-level thinking skills test developed by USAID Priority Team. Techniques of datacollection conducted by researchers through the provision of test instruments to students, then corrected degree of truth answers based on predefined criteria. Analysis of data in quantitative descriptive data then qualitatived. The conclusions of this study are: competence Junior high school students in East Java in resolving high level thinking tests category learning science enough (enough with a mean value of C- with a score of 43.8) and achievement test results categorized good indicators, namely: (a) observation of characteristic Distinctive animals (75.6), and analyze the properties of liquid water (75.6).Keywords: test, solving problems, high level thingking, science.

Abstract

Highly content of nutrition in milk a perfect for microba to grow. Microba can pollute the milk fastly so it can not be consume. Fermentation is one way to avoid the milk decay. Fermentation of milk is conducted by inoculating pasteurized milk with kefir grains additional as cultur starter. The objective of this research is knowing the effect of fermentation period toward protein content of kefir milk as material to compile guideline book for lab work in biochemistry class. The research is quantitative with RAL factorial 4x1 in 3 times repetition. The factors of research are fermentation in 0 hour (t1), 12 hours (t2), 24 hours (t3), 36 hours (t4). Research use titration formol to collect the data of  protein content. Anava one tail is used to examine the hypothesis continued with BNT examination. The result of hypothesis shows that sig t (fermentation period) for protein content in kefir milk 0,000 with significance degree is 0,05. It shown that sig t < 0,05. From the result above, the conclusion is fermentation period affect the protein content in kefir milk.  Keywords : kefir milk, fermentation period, protein, guideline book

Abstract

Blood is part of the body which has 6-8 % of total body weight which include of the blood cell and plasma. Thrombocyte is one of component in the blood which has an important function in blood coagulation. This study is aimed to evaluate the influence of the sex and age of donor on the number of thrombocyte. Blood sample were collected at Blood Transfusion Unit of Malang. This research using cases study whose use to observe the number of thrombocyte in man and woman donor at different age. Total of 40 sample (20 of each sex) whose classified as ≤31, 31-40, 41-50 and ≥ 51 years of age. The number of thrombocyte which determined by hemocytometer   and observe  under microscope   (magnification:   100 ).  The collected data where analyze by unpaired T-test for man and woman one. While Anova whose use to analyze the differences between ages interval both in the man and woman.  Duncan test (5%) whose  use  to  determine  the  significant different between ages group. The  result  show  that  the  number  of  thrombocyte  whose  significantly higher (P<0,05) than those in the woman (245.750 + 76300 vs 201.750 + 61564). The age of donor whose significantly influence on the number of thrombocyte (P<0,05) both in the man and woman. The number of thrombocyte degrees significantly by increasing the age. However for the both sex can donor the blood of more than 51 years of age.Keywords: thrombocyte, man, woman and age.

Abstract

Every living organism has the ability to reproduce that aims to maintain the kind ( species). Sexual maturity conditions of  Drosophilla melanogaster will affect the outcome of the offspring ,that is a number of offspring and a kind offspring sex. Sexual maturation of female D. melanogaster individuals also greatly affect to the offspring conditions. Genetic research using D. melanogaster as an experimental material will be interesting and challenging for the university students . The purpose of this study was to determine: 1)The effect of age of female D.  melanogaster strains tx on offspring number and the sex of F1. 2) The research results will use as a guide to the preparation of the genetics lab. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design methods . Data were analyzed using analysis of variance of the path (oneway Anova) followed  further test by 5 % BNT test. Data showed the effect of age of female D. melanogaster strains tx on a number of offspring and the kind sex of F1 . The average number of offspring at various ages females are 149.38 . The average of are 72.03 and 77.34 of the female. After further testing with BNT in 5% of level indicates that the number of F1 offspring in females treatment aged 12 , 24 , 36 and 48 hours resulted in a lot of different number of offspring significantly with the number of female progeny from crosses age 60 , 72, 84 and 96 hours resulted in the number of little offspring. From the study it can be concluded that the age of the female D. melanogaster strains tx effect on a number of offspring and a kind of F1 sex of progeny . The older females ,the number of offsprings produced are less, because females decreased fertility and fecundity . Individual males have a higher mortality compared with all age female D. melanogaster strains tx . Keyword : Females Age , D. melanogaster strain Tx, Practical Guidelines .

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to know: 1) the effect of Jigsaw learning through Hypermedia and module toward  student’s achievement; 2) the effect of high and low memory ability toward  student’s achievement; 3) the effect of high and low social interaction toward  student’s achievement; 4) interaction between learning media and memory ability toward student’s achievement; 5) interaction between learning media and social interaction toward the student’s achievement; 6) interaction between memory ability and student social interaction toward the student’s achievement; 7) interaction between learning media and memory ability and student social interaction toward the student’s achievement. The research sample was determined by random cluster sampling technique that consists of two classes. Data collection techniques for achievement tests and memory skills, social interaction questionnaire for. Anova test hypotheses using 2x2x2 factorial design with the help of software Minitab 15.1.2. Based on the research were concluded : 1)  There was an effect of with hypermedia and module toward the student’s achievement. 2) There was no effect of memory ability to ward student’s achievement. 3) There was an effect of social interaction  toward student’s achievement. 4) There was no interaction between learning media and student’s memory ability toward student’s achievement. 5) There was no interaction between learning media  and social interaction toward student’s achievement. 6) There was no interactoin memory ability and social interaction  toward student’s achievement. 7) There was no interaction memory ability, social interaction, and learning media  toward student’s achievement . Keywords:  jigsaw, memory ability, social interaction, hypermedia, module.
