Abstract

Pineapple rind (Anana chomosus (L) Merr) is household waste has not been used optimally. Rind the  pineapple contains bromelain enzymes, citric acid and phenols, to inhibit bacterial growth. The research objective test ativitas antibacterial (Ananas chomosus (L) Merr) to fish. The study design used a completely randomized design (CRD), the treatment of P0 (0%), P1 (12.5%), P2 (25%), P3 (50%) and P4 (100%). Results of analysis of variance (ANOVA), the concentration extract pineapple rind (Anana chomosus (L) Merr) gives significant differences (p> 0.01) to the number of bacterial colonies, where Fh > Ft. The results showed pineapple rind (Anana chomosus (L) Merr) has antibacterial activity

Abstract

The objective of this study was to isolate actinomycetes from soil of tea plantations, Jamus ngawi as a microbiology lab manual chapter isolation and characterization of microbes. The medium used is the medium of MHA and MHB. Soil samples taken to a depth of 10-15 cm from the surface with capture location is about 07o 41'53,07 'S and 111o 37' 24.64 '' E. The isolates were obtained observed morphologic characters include colony shape, colony color, surface characteristics of colonies, colony growth, colony elevation, and the edge of the colony. Isolates of actinomycetes were successfully isolated are Streptomyces, Nocardia and Nocardiopsis. Actinomycetes isolates have been found that can be used as a collection of the microbiology laboratory.

Abstract

Rhodamin is one of additional food ingredient which often used to recolour the food.The additional food ingredient contains carsinogenic which can affect our health with a cancer asthat ingredient is not acceptable ingredient for food. Unfortunately,many Indonesian do not knowwhether the syntetical ingredients can be used or that is being prohibited to use. The purpose ofthis research is not only to observe whether there is Rhodamin B inside the tomato sauces aroundMadiun, but also to get the result of the analysis as the mateial for aditif subtance experiment inBio-chemical lesson. Furthermore, this descriptive qualitative research used non randomsampling as its technique. The sample is taken from pentol seller, mie ayam seller and baksoseller. The samples are being analyzed with Kremtografi Lapis Tipis (KLT). The result of theanalysis showed that all of the sample is negative. On the other hand, there is no Rhodamin B onit. The indicated sample has the same Rf with Rhodamin B. It will change it color into red as itsresponse toward H2SO4 and HCl. The sample also being compared with wantex. The resultshowed that the Rf samples had A3, A4, A5, B4, B5,C1, C2, C3, C4 dan C5. Based on the result,the assumption of the samples is that the samples have wantex material on it

Abstract

During this time the students learning system, especially on the structure of animals in biology education IKIP PGRI MADIUN. information presented in the form of modules still no or less so difficult to accept students in particular about the material or preparations that are less known as well as local reptile anatomy that is found around the neighborhood students. The aim of developing local reptile anatomy modules in subjects animal structure. Research using 4-Dmodel of development (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Results of development in the form of draft module to be tested and improved understanding of the concept of students. The trial results are obtained material content of the course structure validator experts percentage of 86.66% was obtained animals can be categorized valid (good). The trial results stating that: 1) the modules worth diujicabakan field and very helpful in learning the anatomy of reptiles 2) Students are more familiar with preparations anatomy reptiles as obtained from the student environment and the result of understanding the concept of students with test pre test and posh test through the test T is obtained thitung 15.22> ttable 1,717 or able to enhance student understanding of concepts. Limitations modules developed only compiled on the subject of local reptile anatomy

Abstract

Biofilm merupakan komunitas bakteri yang terorganisasi, terakumulasi dalam metriks polimer (EPS) atau disebut juga slime yang diproduksi oleh bakteri itu sendiri dan mampu melekat pada permukaan hidup maupun tak hidup. Infeksi yang disertai dengan pembentukan biofilm sulit ditangani secara efektif oleh sistem kekebalan tubuh inang dan tahan terhadap pengobatan dengan antimikroba. S. aureus bersama dengan S. epidermidis merupakan agen penyebab infeksi antara lain infeksi implan medis dan infeksi nosokomial di seluruh dunia. Patogenesis infeksi S. epidermidis terkait dengan pembentukan biofilm. Patogenesis S. aureus disebabkan oleh efek gabungan dari faktor ekstraselular dan toksin, bersama dengan sifat invasif strain seperti perlekatan, pembentukan biofilm, dan ketahanan terhadap fagositosis. Metode Congo Red Agar (CRA) sebagai metode fenotipik yang cukup murah dan mudah dengan kriteria evaluasi didasarkan pada analisis visual warna koloni yang tumbuh pada media agar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisa kemampuan pembentukan slime pada isolat Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA dan E. coli. Uji pembentukan slime bakteri dengan Metode CRA dilakukan dengan menanam isolat bakteri S. epidermidis, S. aureus (MSSA 1 dan MSSA 2), MRSA 1 dan E. coli (S4 dan S55) yang  telah diremajakan ke media CRA dalam cawan petri dengan metode streak 4 area. Menginkubasi selama 24 jam pada suhu 37° C pada kondisi aerobik. Interpretasi hasil menurut ketentuan sebagai berikut: strain menghasilkan koloni warna hitam pekat, hitam, dan hitam kemerahan dianggap memproduksi slime, sedangkan koloni merah dan kemerahan diklasifikasikan sebagai tidak memproduksi slime. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah isolat bakteri S. epidermidis, S. aureus dan MRSA dengan metode CRA (Congo Red Agar) diketahui mampu membentuk slime sedangkan isolat bakteri E. coli menunjukkan hasil yang bervariasi.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the insects in rice plants in the district Pilangkenceng and Kare Madiun. Research method using qualitative descriptive and in accordance with what is on the field. Data were collected by observation. Insects captured in two ways: directly and using flay arrest of the net. The results showed that the insects found in rice plant in the district of Pilangkenceng order Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Odonata, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera. Insects found in the District of Kare consists of the Order Orthoptera, Odonata, Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Homoptera.

Abstract

The purpose of the research and development is to produce teaching materials such as textbooks supporting course in Reproduction Physiology research based on the toxicity analysis for students who take a course in Reproduction Physiology. This research is a research and development, where the results of research become the teaching materials developed supporting Reproduction Physiology course. Development models have prepared using ADDIE Model. Sources of data in this research include laboratory research and validation of the results sheet of Biotechnology material experts, instructional design experts, the media, and the trials in students. The analysis is used quantitative and qualitative.The results of the research have developed become teaching materials like text books supporting courses and have been validated by the Reproduction Physiology, the Reproduction Physiology material experts, instructional design experts, the media, the individual testing, and group trials. Based on the results of the validation material have obtained value of 95%, the results of the design validation and media experts to get the value of 93.75%, it means that the teaching materials has been developed which suitable to be used as a teaching material support biotechnology course. While the experiments performed to get a data the percentage of students that are equal to 88,25 % and included in the category of “very good”, but still need to be revised based on advices and comments from students.

Abstract

     Kingdom Fungi material is material to learn about mushrooms. In the Kingdom Fungi consist of six phylum that zygomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Deuteromycota, Lumut crust, and Mycorrhiza. The material has many types of fungi kingdom, scientific name, and classification of fungi that constrain students to memorize and understand that students need learning model that can provide a good learning experience. This study aimed to determine the effect of learning model combined Student Problem Based Learning Facilitator And Explaining the ability of critical thinking on the matter Kingdom Fungi in grade X SMAN 6 Kediri. This study was conducted in August and September of odd semester 2016/2017 academic year. This research was conducted by quasi-experimental research subjects in class X-9 and X-10. Parameters measured were critical thinking skills that are measured using posttest essay. The results were analyzed using critical thinking skills t test showed the t-test calculation results obtained Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. This means there is significant influence learning model combined Student Problem Based Learning Facilitator And Explaining to students' critical thinking skills matter Kingdom Fungi

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to 1) determine the characteristics of the module based on the identification of Bryophyta in Ngargoyoso Karanganyar Forest Park for grade X students of high school; 2) determine the feasibility of modules based on the identification of Bryophyta (Moss Plant) in Ngargoyoso Karanganyar Forest Park in terms of material aspects, aspects of module presentation, biology teachers and students. This type of research is research and developer according to Brog and Gall which was modified into 7 stages, among others is 1) research and information gathering; 2) planning; 3) initial product development; 4) trial of initial product; 5) initial product revision; 6) limited field testing; 7) second product revision. The results of this study indicate that there were studi 13 species of Bryophyta that can be used for the development of biological modules with Bryophyta material. Material expert assessment was obtained 81.89% so that it was included in the feasible category with very good qualifications, module expert judgment was obtained 83.62% so that it was included in the decent category with very good qualifications, the average assessment of practitioners of biology teachers was obtained 83.40% so it included in the feasible category with very good qualifications, and the percentage of user assessment of Grade X MIPA students was obtained 85.53% so that it was included in the decent category with very good qualifications. Based on this, it can be concluded that the biology module developed was included in the feasible category with very good qualifications and can be continued in operational tests.

Abstract

This study aimed to increase student achievement in science learning material by applying sound Jigsaw model of cooperative methods in class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 2 Kwadungan school year 2013/2014 . Research using classroom action research ( PTK ) includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research instrument used syllabus, lesson plans, student activity sheets, observation sheets, and test. Data retrieval learning achievement tests and observations were performed every cycle . The results showed that students mastery of classical first cycle of 60 % , 87.5 % second cycle. show enthusiastic learn. Observations show their courage students to ask and answer questions discussion. The results showed that sound science learning material with the application of Jigsaw model of cooperative methods can improve student achievement .
