Abstract

The role of insects (arthropods) in human life can affect the yield and quality of agricultural products. Insect pests are insects that regularly or occasionally cause damage that can reduce the yield or quality of agricultural products. The purpose of this study was to determine the preference of arthropods on wild plants, to compare the percentage of interest and time orientation of arthropods on wild plants. This research is a qualitative descriptive that tries to reveal and explain about the preferences or interests arthro in Poda against wild plants (weeds) Cambodgien Wonosari Tea Garden Area, Singosari Malang. The difference in the percentage interest in insects against wild plants affected by volatile compounds secreted by wild plants. Overall plant contain volatile compounds produced by the leaves, flowers or fruit of the wild plants cause differences insect attraction. Insects itself able to select and respond to volatile compounds from plants that are in nature can be visited.

Abstract

Quality education is needed to support the creation of intelligent people who are able to compete in the era of globalization. However, based on a number of international, national, to regional assessments and facts that are encountered directly in the field, students provide information that student awareness in learning is still lacking. This information shows that the cognitive learning outcomes of students have not been maximized. This study aims to determine the effect of the PjBL model on the metacognitive skills of the XI MIPA grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Banjarmasin. Metacognitive skills can help students develop thinking skills which further influence student learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi experiment, with a design model known as non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. Data collection techniques using essay tests. Assessment of metacognitive skills refers to Corebima (2009). The research data were analyzed by one way ANOVA statistical analysis using SPSS version 24 for windows with a significance level of 5%. The results showed the average value of the experimental class students facilitated by the PjBL model by 85.47 and the control class facilitated by conventional learning by 73.41 with Fcount = 17.616 (p = 0.000 <0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning model has a significant positive effect on the metacognitive skills of the 11th grade students of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in SMA Negeri 4 Banjarmasin

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe the behavior of male and female cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) interactions. The objects of this study were five male crickets and one female cricket that had been isolated for twenty-four hours. This research is an exploratory descriptive study observing all male and female cricket (gryllus bimaculatus) behaviors. The research method used is ad libitum which is observing all visible activities, both social behavior and daily behavior of male and female crickets. Retrieval of data using direct observation, recording sounds and then recorded in the observation sheet, observation notes, and documentation tools. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques that describe the behaviors that arise during observation. The results showed that the behavior that is often performed by crickets is sounding, eating, climbing, mating and attacking other crickets. Crickets perform sounding behavior to attract the attention of female crickets, show their existence and to defend their territory and food sources. crickets also often climb, to escape from the container because crickets want to live freely. Crickets perform eating behavior to maintain life and will show aggressive behavior when fighting over food and when maintaining their partners. Female crickets will mating if captivated by male crickets.
