Abstract

The interactive video from the modern trends of education technology as the most important and latest tools of education. And can be used as a means to teach any material of the Arabic language at the university, including Arabic calligraphy. In the Department of Islamic Education Department at Radin Intan Islamic State University Lampung teaches Arabic calligraphy to students in the fourth grade in terms of the subject matter. The Arabic calligraphy teacher is sometimes taught using the chalkboard in his teaching, as well as using the technology like Fur Fuen and we do not use interactive video in his education. The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of using interactive video in teaching Arabic calligraphy to students of this university. This research used the experimental approach in the design of both groups and quantitative input. The data taken by the author in this study are the result of the tribal and post-test of the two groups. As a result of the equation (70,70), that is, on the "good" score, which the students obtained higher and higher than the standard result (70.00), which the writer decided to indicate that this video is effective. (57.56) and post-test (70.70). The result of the difference between them (13,14) indicates that the video method has an effective degree. In other words, the use of interactive video fundamentally affects the improvement of student writing

Abstract

Students of university are expected to be able to generate information, thought and feeling theyhave in their mind through writing in Arabic Language appropriately and grammatically correct by understanding the concept of writing process and developing idea into paragraphs and essays.  Therefore, lecturers need to guide their students tocompose their newand innovativeessays in which creative-thinking based strategy is implemented. This strategy refers to five principles as follow: (a) fluency; (b) flexibility; (c) originality; (d) sensitivity; and (e) elaboration. This research is purposed to explain some learning strategies implemented in creative-thinking based on teaching writing. The researcher implemented direct observation using descriptive qualitative approach and the researcher himself as a moderate participant of 53 third semester of Arabic Language Teaching students, Arabic Literature Program, Faculty of Letter, Universitas Negeri Malang Indonesia, academic year 2017-2018. The study revealed thatthese 7 learning strategies of writing are based on creative thinking; (a) idea analysis and discussion; (b) divergent thinking; (c) lateral thinking; (d) alternative idea; (e) spatial thinking; (f) brainstorming; and (g) synectic.

Abstract

Education policy is one of the determinants of an organization in determining the educational goals. Al-Washliyah is one of the largest Islamic organizations in North Sumatera that has many educational institutions whose role is to help to educate the community. A good educational managementthrough the strategic policies will produce the good graduates. The role of the Al-Washliyah Educational Council in making curriculum development policies for Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic Senior High School) in North Sumatera is very urgent. One of the determinants of the success of the objectives of Islamic education at the Al-Washliyah educational institutions is the policy of developing Madrasah AliyahAl-Washliyah curriculum taken by the Al-Washliyah Educational Council. The Al-Washliyah Educational Council policy in developing Islamic education curriculum was by establishing the implementation of the policies in the form of Decree. Among the strategic policies taken by the Al-Washliyah Educational Council were the Al Washliyah curriculum, Al-WashliyahEducationsl System (SPA), the Diniyah Curriculum and additionalcurriculum for Islamic Religion subject. The purpose of this study was to find out how the characteristics of the Al-Washliyah Educational Council policies in developing Madrasah Aliyah Curriculum in North Sumatera.

Abstract

The ability to forgive others is a condition in which a person is able to change the negative influence and solve dissonance and distress that accompany some life events into something constructive and pleasant. One technique that can be used to improve forgiveness is the Value Clarification Technique. The purpose of this study is to find out whether value clarification techniques are effective in increasing the ability to forgive others in MTs students. The research method used was experimental research with the type of One group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 8th grade MTs Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Jombang which were selected by purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were the Enright Forgiveness Inventory (EFI) attitude scale, and the training guide used as training material. Data is analyzed by analysts at Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Ranks Test. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the value clarification technique is effective to increase the ability to forgive others in MTs students. The suggestions for this  research are: (1) To get maximum results in the application of value clarification techniques, the counselor is expected to pay more attention to the cultural factors possessed by the subject, (2) Further researchers are expected to further deepen the research topic on self forgiveness (self-forgiveness/intrapersonal forgiveness), which is also a matter that needs attention, in order to maximize character education activities.

Abstract

The recent study is investigating 1) the significant difference on the use of learning strategy by male and female students in listening, and 2) the correlation between the learning strategy use and two aspects of gender and listening proficiency. The questionnaire was directed to 140 university students to answer a-85 item of learning strategy. The t-test and correlation analysis were used to analyse the research problems. The first finding reveals that female students did not deploy the strategies significantly different from the male counterparts. The later result reports that there was no correlation between listening strategy and two factors ofgender and the students’ listening achievement.

Abstract

To create a quality education, mainly on EFL instruction, the EFL teachers need to be empowered with improving their teaching quality. The students, on the other hand, should also be actively engaged during the instructional activities. Due to the fact that love of “writing” as one of the language skills is not yet established among the EFL university students, the effort of finding out an innovative way of helping them to establish love of creative writing is a must. One of the ways is collaborative writing through Estafet Writing Game and Picture-Based-Creative Writing strategies. Thus, this article aims at describing the students’ voices on the use of those strategies to establish love of creative writing. The study conducted through a reflective questionnaire survey to 165 EFL university students reveals that most of the respondents prefer Estafet Writing Game to Picture-Based Creative Writing in terms of its effectiveness to build their creativity and spontaneity of writing skills. To sum up, these strategies are pedagogically meaningful to improve the EFL students’ creative writing, because they can collaborate with their peers and promote their cooperative communication. Therefore, it is useful to establish love of writing and to stimulate their ideas for writing.
