Abstract

TITLEIMPLEMENTATION OF 5R TO PREVENT OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES IN SRAGEN INFORMAL INDUSTRY TO DENTAL, ORAL AND RESPIRATORY TRACT HEALTHABSTRACTPilang village in Sragen are famous for the production of batik clothes that still using manual processes to produces the batik. Most of the batik industry in this village produced for local industry that is not familiar with the implementation of health and safety, that caused many complaining of occupational diseases in workplace. The one of occupational disease is a disease of the teeth and the mouth and respiratory  that indicated caused from dye clothing, wax and smoke from burning wood and gas for drying the batik fabrics motif by workers. To prevent the impact of occupational illness, one preventive method that can be used is the 5R.Respondents are batik workers at the Pilang village in Masaran District of Sragen that total respondents are 37 peoples. The method that used in hazard identification, risk assessment and determinating control (HIRADC). After the a priority scale through the model of HIRADC determinated, then performed the corrective actions taken by using a hierarchy of control especially the 5R methods.The workers of Batik Industry in PilangVillage has exposure the CO gas that exceeds the threshold value at 69-90 ppm, and temperature humidity index at 32.5-33.50C. Especialy for behavioral factors is working without personal protective equipment that are harmful to health due to exposure to gas and dye clothing. Key words : 5R, batik workers, occupational diseases, dental mouth disease, respiratory problems

Abstract

TITLEEffectiveness of breadfruit leaf extract water stew to colony growth of Streptococcus mutansABSTRACTBreadfruit leaf flavonoid compounds useful as antimicrobial function kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms. Breadfruit leaves also contain other compounds, namely saponins, polyphenols, tannins, hydrocyanic acid, acetylcholine, riboflavin, and phenols The aim of research was effectiveness results boiling breadfruit leaf extract on growth colony of bacteria Streptococcus mutans.This type of research used experimental method or experimental. In this research study is the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria colony before and after given the results boiling breadfruit leaf extract at a concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%, 60%. The design of the research is a pre-test-post-test with control group. In  this research used two repetitions.The results of the research show that breadfruit leaf extract effectively inhibits the growth of bacterial colonies of Streptococcus mutans. Results boiling breadfruit leaf extract at a concentration of 60% of the most effective at inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans bacteria colony than the concentration of 10%, 20%, 40%.  Chemical compounds contained in the leaves of breadfruit namely polyphenols which have properties as an antimicrobial against bacteria and fungi. Not only that, the breadfruit leaf also contains flavonoids that have powerful antimicrobial properties. An antimicrobial agent serves to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms.  Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds that have chemical properties that are slightly acidic phenols that can be dissolved in alkaline. Flavonoids are also contains hydroxyl groups that are generally soluble in polar solvents such as ethanol, methanol, butanol, acetone, and water. Key words : Breadfruit Leaf Extract, Streptococcus  mutans

TITLEDental nursing care in diabetes mellitus patients (case report)ABSTRACTTo determine dental and oral health care, operators must be able to recognize the symptoms and signs possibility patients suffer systemic disease should be detected as these influence oral hygiene condition. Patients who often visit dental clinic are patients with diabetes mellitus. It is important for operator to know dental management of patients with diabetes melitus therefore diagnosis and treatment can be drawn as needed. Operator also can contribute dental health care and improve quality life of patients diabetes melitus by improving oral hygiene management and complication prevention. Purpose of this report to identify and understand dental and oral health care based on human need with behavior management for dental disease prevention.A diabetes melitus patient with caries occlusal 16 with diagnosis caries reach pulp visit dental clinic. Dental and oral health care to restore tooth shape and function, prevent further caries and reduce pain. Treatment for the patient was dental prophylaxis, dental health education and referral for root canal treatment. Evaluation need to be done regularly.Dental and oral health care are expected to be systematically so that the management of patients with diabetes mellitus can be continue. Dental management patient with diabetes melitus need good communication, laboratorium test and knowledge of operator about diabetes melitus including the effect of dental care, therefore diabetic patient can undergo dental care safety. Key words : Dental and Oral Health Care, Diabetic Patient

Abstract

TITLEInhibitory effect of young-avocado leaf against oral bacteria (Streptococcus mutans)ABSTRACTDental caries is one of the oral health problems that can cause pain and disrupt the activities. Bacteria plays an important role in the process of dental caries. The main bacterial cause of dental caries is Streptococcus mutans producing the glucosyltransferase enzyme. Streptococcus mutans produces a sticky extracellular polysaccharides of carbohydrate foods and able to ferment carbohydrates to acids. Streptococcus viridans is bacteria in the mucosa that synthesize large polysaccharides like dextran and levans of sucrose that are important factor in the formation of dental caries.This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of avocado leaf extract concentration of 60% and 80% to the inhibition of the growth of Streptococcus mutans.Method used was the method of diffusion wells using 2 samples in each treatment group. Sample consisted of 3 treatment groups  avocado young leaf extract concentration of 60%, 80%. This research data analysis method using quantitative descriptive.The results showed that the leaf extract of avocado at all concentrations have antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans. The lowest concentration of 60%,80% inhibition against the bacteria have a strong and increasingly stronger at higher concentrations. The conclusion of this study prove that avocado leaf extract has strong antibacterial activity against the growth of Streptococcus mutans. Key words : Avocado Young Leaf, Streptococcus Mutans

Abstract

TITLEThe effect of rinse using water stew of dry bay leaf (Eugenia polyantha) toward pH salivaABSTRACT Caries is the main couse of disease of the oral cavity caused by saliva. Salivary pH acidic and  susceptible to caries. Saliva is a buffer system to maintain optimum pH in the oral cavity. To keep salivary pH balance,can do prevented by chemically and mechanically. Chemically prevention can do rising mouth with bay leaves dried because it contain essential oil 0.17 % which can stimulate secretion of saliva. Increased secretion of saliva can increasing buffer on saliva so it can in salivaincreas and tend to be alkaline. Aim to know the effect of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried ( eugenia polyantha ) on salivary to pH to the students of Dental Health  Departement of Semarang .Research is quantitative descriptive. Research method is quasi exsperimental with cross sectional approach. Research design one group pretest – posttest. Collection of samples in this research using by using 20 samples,The test result of paired t -test showed 0.000 0.05 that there was influence of rising mouth with water stewbay leaves dried on salivary pH. It can be concluded that rising mouth with water stew bay leaves dried can cause changes in the pH of saliva.

Abstract

TITLEAnalysis of factors influencing dental nurse performances in UKGS program among Puskesmas in public health department of Bandung DistrictABSTRACTIn Bandung District data showed that many students suffer from bleeding gums, dental caries in students tend to rise nearly 90% in elementary school students, the average incidence of dental caries occur in the age group 6-12 years with DMF-T = 2,7. Where as the target of Healthy Indonesia 2010 on caries incidence is not more than two. Not optimal oral health care in children aged 6-12 years (primary school age), showed that the performance of dental nurses in UKGS care services was not optimal.This study was an explanatory research with cross sectional approach. Data were collected by interview and observation. The number of samples is 50 dental nurses.The results showed that the performance of dental nurses in the implementation of the District Health Office UKGS in Bandung is only about 58.0% and that have a good performance is only 42.0%. Variables that are directly related to the performance of dental nurses in the implementation of UKGS are training, knowledge and motivation The variables most affect the dental nurse performance of the implementation UKGS was training (RP 20.931) means that dental nurse with a good level of 21 times likely to have a better performance compared to the dental nurse with less knowledge, and the most influential factor was training. Means that dental nurses who have high training will have 21 times better performance compared with dental nurses with low training in the implementation of UKGS. Key words : Performance, dental nurse at implementation, UKGS

Abstract

TITLEApplication of innovative UKGS program “irene’s donuts” to oral and dental health behavior and OHI-s of children with special needs in SLB Negeri SemarangABSTRACTChildren with Special Needs (CSN) are children who have abnormalities in the context of education, they should get a special care of the teeth and mouth health from both the teachers at school and the parents at home. Most elementary school CSN in The State Special Elementary School of Semarang 77% suffered from dental caries, so it needs special attention. Irene's Donuts Oral Health School Innovative Program is an innovation program using Irene's Donut's method that have been proven in reducing the risk of caries in the elementary school, so it needs to be tested to primary level CSN The State Special Elementary School of Semarang.The type of this research is a quasi experimental study with a non-randomized pretest-posttest equivalent control group design. This study was conducted on 76 respondents. There were 38 respondents in the control group and 38 respondents in the experimental group.The Pre and Post Test result of Dependent T Test against the Oral Hygiene Index (OHI-S) shows that the p value is 0.000. The results of Mann-Whitney test on the behavior of dental and oral health care in the control group and the treatment group shows 0.024 of p value.The conclusion from this research is that there is a difference between the OHI-S before and after the application of Innovative Irene's Donuts program to the CSN in The State Special Elementary School of Semarang. Moreover, there is a difference between the behavior of the maintenance of the oral health before and after the application of the program. Key words : Oral Health School Program, Irene’s Donuts, OHI-S

Abstract

TITLEParental and child satisfaction level to Irene’s donut innovative UKGS programABSTRACTUKSG innovative programs in kindergarten donut irene 's Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang has been going on for 4 years. Has not been evaluated clinically and parent satisfaction. Program evaluation is very important to be a benchmark for the success of this program in order to continue. The purpose of the research was evaluated the implementation of innovative programs UKGS irene 's a donut in the review aspects of parental satisfaction in kindergarten Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang.This research was a quantitative description of the cross-sectional approach. The subjects were 36 parents of students Al Azhar Banyumanik Semarang. The level of parent satisfaction was measured with a questionnaire instrument.The results showed the level of satisfaction of parents satisfied categorized as 100 %. Parents expressed satisfaction on the service aspect that is easy and fast , and his son felt comfortable dental examination. The financial aspects are still some parents who are not satisfied. It is advisable for the school and implementing UKGS to keep improving dental care and socialization of students financing system based parent agreement. Key words : innovative UKGS irene 's donut, the level of parent satisfaction___________________________________

Abstract

TITLEEffectiveness of purple sweet potatoes (Ipomea batatas) and red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) as plaque identification agent (disclosing solution)ABSTRACTThe content of the dye in purple sweet potato anthocyanins and carotenoids content of dyes in the red dragon fruit, has the potential a source of natural dyes. Plaque is usually formed on a third surface of the gingival and the tooth surface is rough, form biofilm, known as plaque. Plaque can absorb dyes that can indicate the presence of biofilm. The research objective was to determine differences in the ability of the solution to the purple sweet potato red fleshed dragon fruit as materials identification plaque  (disclosing solution).The method used is Experimental Research. Design used is Posttest Only Design. Samples were taken 30 people and divided into 2 groups. Group 1st amounted to 15 people given treatment solution dripping purple sweet potato, and the second group totaled 15 people given treatment solution dripping red dragon fruit. Analysis of the data used in this study is Test Independent Test.The results showed the averages value of the plaque index in a solution of purple sweet potato 2.221 and the average value of the plaque index in the red dragon fruit 2.875. Result of Independent T-test has Sig 0.13 means that there are differences in the ability to use the solution with a purple sweet potato red fleshed dragon fruit as materials identification plaque (p 0.05). As a material it is necessary to identify plaque dyes that can be embedded in dental plaque, antosianin amount of content that has the in herentability of the dye solution and based on research results more red dragon fruit can identify plaque compared with a solution of purple sweet potato. Keywords: Sweet potato purple, red dragon fruit, Plaque Index
