Abstract

Umi Supraptingsih (Penulis, dosen STAIN Pamekasan, Jl. Raya Panglegur Km. 04 Pamekasan)     Abstract The act of begging of beggar appears tradition for generations and it becomes inheritant profession. Social and  economic characteristics of beggar are influenced by several factors---natural and human resources. Places of beggar to do begging, Api Tak Kunjung Padam (eternal flame) and Batu Ampar, are distinctive. The former is the common tourism spot, but the later is the religous tourism place. The factors cause the begging are the natural setting condition that does not support the  beggar to earn sufficient income, the low level of education, inedequate parenting pattern, less religious teaching comprehension, the extinct of abahsment, and instant needs.  Establishing an actual cultural  communication and asking the participation of stake holders---philantropist, academician, public figure, religious scholar, and government, will hopefully decrease the number of beggar. Abstract

The most complex problem in the world nowadays is subjugating human’s egocentrism as a superior human being toward the nature, and exploiting the nature on the strength of human needs and interests created the new problem for the human itself. The nature starts to turn against us using its own way, and this problem slowly threatens the continuity of life chain for all beings in this earth. Owing to this problem, a contemporary philosopher, Sayyed Hosen Nasr expressed his thought to criticize the modern civilization with the globalization that continuously devastates the nature without considering how life goes well and how to make this not harm each other. One of the thoughts created by Nasr is his idea about ‘nature’, how to revive the nature, and the idea of eco-theology in this paper is the introduction of a piece of his thoughts that truly criticizes the modernity conception that revives the nature slowly. The result proposed by Nasr shows that he wants to reconcile the modernity without ‘God’ soul and turns it into the religious modernity that shows the nature is not supposed to be treated as the human wants, but the nature must be treated like the equal beings, to be maintained and to be preserved, because the human life is determined by how the nature goes.Copyright (c) 2017 by KARSA. Abstract

Abstrac This simple artcile is not about to provoke Madurese people to deny the industrialization as the impact of Madura bridge establishment. However, theoretically the presence of industry causes social impact. The social conflict and dehumanisation (including marginalization and impoverishment) will be immediately occured if the industrialization process does not involve the role of the stakeholders entirely and consistantly. Suramadu bridge is built in attempt to increase Madurese economic potency. As a matter of fact, the bridge appears the symbol of the victory of global capitalism to exploit the maximum benefit of Madura potency. Kata-kata kunci Karl Marx, conflict, Industry

Abstract

This research attempts to describe the Islamic preaching way used at Bumi Langit Institute in fostering Islamic lifestyle, especially tayib food consumption pattern, so as to be accepted by the society, including non-Moslems. In order to get an answer to such issue, the researcher conducted interviews to 15 informants, observation, and documentation study. This research found that a superiority of the preaching way at Bumi Langit Institute is the ability to unite some lessons contained in the Qur’an with some current empirical realities as well as present an example of living Qur’an, starting from food to the management of agriculture which can directly be learn, practiced, enjoyed, selfie, and adopted as a lifestyle at home. Bumi Langit gives a lot of scientific surprises showing that the long-left lifestyle and the unimagineable Islamic knowledge reserve far more priceless benefits than the lifestyle that is currently upheld. In addition to logical preaching messages that could be proven by empirical data, the preaching messages delivered at Bumi Langit are also supported with other uniqueness, starting from the figures of the preachers and the establishment of Islamic preaching segmentation for young-middle class who are familiar with gadget. Copyright (c) 2017 by KARSA. Abstract

Social media plays a very important role in shaping the identity and trends in todays world. Not only for the young generation, almost all people in every generation have also been “addicted” to social media for their daily need and in other processes through assimilation and integration and building new networks in their communities through online and offline activities. As a result, the emergence of the social media as a medium of communication and information today has many impacts on changes of social structure including the religious identity of its users. This article explores the tendency for the development of religious identity in social media among the Ponianak Muslim community by focusing on the typology of social media users among Pontianaak Muslims and various trends in the religious identity of its users. The work suggests that social media users in the Pontianak Muslim community have three main typologies, namely NetPublisher, NetWorker, and NetAdvocate. And the religious identity tendency of social media users in Pontianak is constructed through religious narratives dominated by conservativism discourses. They are seen through at least three aspects including the tendency of religious affiliation, various religious issues that are often discussed, and responses to trending religious issues in social media by Pontianak Muslim netizens.
