Abstract

Wildlife monitoring in natural habitats remains difficult due to occlusion, camouflage, and varying illumination, which limit the performance of conventional object detection systems. Although recent YOLO-based models have shown strong potential, systematic comparisons between newer architectures in real ecological environments are still limited. This study evaluates YOLOv8 and YOLOv11 using 6,165 images from 14 wildlife classes collected at Taman Buru Gunung Masigit Kareumbi, with data augmentation applied to improve robustness. Performance is evaluated using a quantitative comparative approach based on precision, recall, mAP 0.5, and mAP 0.5:0.95. The results indicate that YOLOv11 achieves higher detection accuracy with an mAP 0.5:0.95 of 0.894.

Abstract

Reproductive toxicity prediction is a major challenge in drug development as side effects are often difficult to detect early. SMILES representations provide a compact sequential format suitable for deep learning. This study proposes an HHO-optimized LSTM model to predict reproductive and breast-related side effects. Four architectural schemes were evaluated including L (LSTM only), CL (Convolution + LSTM), LD (LSTM + Dense), and CLD (Convolution + LSTM + Dense). Results show that the tuned L scheme achieved the best performance with accuracy increasing from 0.6304 to 0.6739 and F1-score from 0.6792 to 0.7097. These findings highlight the effectiveness of metaheuristic optimization in computational toxicology modeling.

Abstract

Operational disruptions on the Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) during 2023–2025 indicate issues related to the signal loss between the train's communication system and surface radio devices. This research investigates the causes of signal loss through field testing, simulations, and theoretical analysis. Field testing showed a measured Received Signal Level (RSL) of approximately −79 dBm, while simulation results with Atoll and theoretical approaches ranged from −70 to −65 dBm and −50.62 to −66.18 dBm. Coverage analysis based on Atoll simulation revealed signal-free areas between adjacent Wireless Radio Units (WRUs), leading to a loss of connectivity for 1.12 second. The SINR values obtained, ranging from 2 to 8 dB, resulted in a BER of up to 10⁻² and a PER of 100%, as simulated using MATLAB. Doppler analysis confirms slow fading conditions, showing that the train's mobility factor has no effect.

Abstract

Telecommunication system reliability is critical to the operation of the Jakarta MRT, particularly for Train-to-Ground communication, CCTV transmission, and passenger information services. This study compares the performance of Leaky Coaxial Cable (LCX) and bidirectional antennas using MATLAB-based numerical simulation founded on a modified empirical propagation model, evaluated at frequencies of 5.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz over distances of 10–2000 m, with path loss, SNR, BER, and effective throughput as the analyzed parameters. At a distance of 2000 m and a frequency of 5.2 GHz, LCX yielded a path loss of 149.2255 dB, an SNR of -14.2586 dB, a BER of 0.3921, and a throughput of 6.0792 Mbps, outperforming the bidirectional antenna, which yielded a path loss of 156.8298 dB, an SNR of -21.8629 dB, a BER of 0.4546, and a throughput of 5.4543 Mbps.

Abstract

Off-grid solar power systems face fluctuating loads, complicating battery sizing. This study applies Monte Carlo simulation with the bootstrap method to optimize battery capacity for an 8.12 kWp PV system. Data include 113-day aggregated data and four high-resolution (5-minute) load profiles. 5,000 bootstrap scenarios were simulated over a capacity range of 16–48 kWh, targeting a probability of achieving a self sufficiency ratio (SSR) above 80%. Results indicate that a 30 kWh capacity achieves P(SSR > 80%) = 95.1%, meeting the target, while 32 kWh yields a marginal increase (95.8%). Diminishing return analysis shows that beyond 30–32 kWh, each additional 2 kWh improves probability by less than 0.5%. The technically optimal capacity is 30–32 kWh. Validation using high-resolution data confirms that a 16 kWh battery is safe for normal loads (lowest SOC = 27%) but proves insufficient under extreme conditions, with SOC dropping to 14%.

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure performed on patients experiencing cardiac arrest. In this study, the mechanical response of the human chest during CPR compression is modeled using a spring–damper system. To better represent the actual chest response, the damper is regulated using a control system integrated into a CPR training model. The overall system design, including the human chest response model and the control system, utilizes a spring mechanism, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor for measuring compression depth, LED indicators, and a buzzer as feedback components. A user interface (UI) is also developed to operate and monitor the entire system. The damping setpoint is designed with a variable viscosity constant that changes according to the chest compression depth, approximating the characteristics of the human chest response. A PID controller with gains , , and is implemented. The system produces an output response with a settling time of 5 seconds and a total error of 0.4457. The calculated compression force ranges from 320 to 420 N for compression depths of 4–5.5 cm.

Abstract

This study evaluates the steady-state security and frequency stability of the Ambon power system expansion plan based on the 2025–2034 RUPTL. The evaluation considers generation additions and the development of the 150 kV transmission network. Simulations were performed using DIgSILENT PowerFactory through power flow, N-1 contingency, three-phase short-circuit, and frequency stability analyses. The results show that all bus voltages remain within the allowable limits, with the lowest value of 0.992 p.u. The maximum line loading reaches 25.86% under normal conditions and 43.75% during the N-1 contingency. The maximum short-circuit current is 8.7 kA, while the lowest frequency nadir is 49.725 Hz. These results indicate that the Ambon power system expansion plan based on the RUPTL satisfies the technical security criteria.
